Ready To Run

"He is such a DOLL!" Alison said from behind me causing me to jump. "Looks like someone has been swooned."
"With a client? Of course not!" I said smiling guiltily.
"Oh hunnie, he is definitely an exception! He's gorgeous! And I have good news. Apparently the One Direction boys are looking for a designer to help them with the rest of the tour with their stage clothes and such. Darling, they want you!"
'What?! You're serious?! But its only my first day here! And I've worked so hard for this job, I can't just let it go and I-"
"Abbie! You're not losing your job! This would be great for the company! Alison Heyden Co. collab with the hottest boy band? Headlines everywhere in the fashion world. And those pieces you picked out for him? You've got talent girl."
"Oh my gosh, Thank you! I just can't believe all of this!"
"Start believing! Now, You should be getting call from their manager this afternoon. Until then shall we get lunch? There is an adorable cafe a block away!"
"That sounds lovely!" I said trying to copy her fancy accent.
"Oh hun, you're going to have to do better than that." she said laughing.

After we grabbed our things we headed for the car. The whole way she gave me tips about how much of an amazing experience this would be and how great it would look for my career.

As the day went on I patiently waited for that life changing phone call. But by 3:30pm there was still no call, and my shift was about to be over.As I began packing up my things the phone rang. I jolted across the room and grabbed the phone.
"Alison Heyden Co., Abbie speaking"
"Hi Ms Abbie! This is One Direction's manager! Our Harry Styles went in there earlier, I'm not sure if you remem-"
"Yes! Yes, I remember!"
"Oh okay great! Well I think you may know but Harry strongly recommended you fill the position of being their style manager for the tour! And I agree with Harry, you're amazing! So, would you like this job?"
"YES! OH MY GOD THHANK YOU SO MUCH!"
The man began chuckling. I instantly felt embarrassed. "Great!! Let's meet tomorrow around 9am at the arena! There is so much to do! You'll do a fitting for the boys, then you'll have to go shopping for them! We'll discuss all the details tomorrow!"
"Sounds great!! Thank you so much again. I am so honored! But um, my friend, Essie, she lives with me and I can't leave her. "
"It is completely fine, bring her! We have more than enough room, and I understand it'll be hard being away for so long. You're truly the perfect person for this! Oh and Abbie?"
"Sir?"
"The boys can be um.. quite a handful. Where comfy clothes!"
"Oh okay, um sure thing! See you tomorrow!"
"Indeed!" As soon as the phone hung up I couldn't help but let out a small squeal. I quickly drove home to tell Essie all about it!




"EEEEESIIIIEEEEE! WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU!?!"
"MY ROOM"
I ran for her room. "Essie Oh mY Fucking Gosh guess what happened today?!"
"Hm, let's see, Harry Styles came into your work and offered you a job to work for them on tour?"
I just stared at her in disbelief.
"ITS ALL OVER THE FUCKING INTERNET DUDE!!!!!!"
"What?!"
She turned her laptop to face me. All over there was pictures of me and articles about how Alison Heyden was teaming up with One Direction.
"DUDE YOUR LIKE FAMOUS OH MY GOD"
"This is awesome but I really wanted to tell you myself but oh my gosh this is fucking incredible!"
Essie tackled me in a hug" Abbs, I'm ging to miss the hell out of you."
"Why? You think I'm leaving you?! Uhm, no. "
"WHAT?! I'm going?! Its okay?"
"Yep! Talked to their manager about it and everything!!"
"ABBIE WE'RE GOING TO BE TOURING WITH ONE DIRECTION!!!!"
The rest of the night was spent with tons and tons of packing and talking about what our lives would be like for the next couple ofmonths. We could not believe any of this.
