Ready To Run

"Abbie I'm so proud of you!!" My mom said as I walked into her warm hug. Today was the day I graduated from NYU's Fashion and Design school. I'm 19 years old, one of the youngest people to graduate and I already had a job! A dream job, actually. I was going to be a co-designer under one of the top 100 designers in New York City, Allison Heyden. I was so excited to meet new people and expand my career.

After the ceremony was over my family I headed over to a nice restaurant to celebrate.
"So Abs! Are you excited for Monday?! I can't believe you start your new job!" My cousin, Kellin asked.
"Yessss, i'm super excited! But i'm sort of nervous."
"You're going to do great, i promise."
"Okay guys, I can't hold it in any longer...." My best friend Essie cried.
"Whats going on?" I was so confused.
"Okay well all of us pitched in because we know this would mean a lot and we know how much fun it would be for you. " She reached into her bag and pulled out an sliver glittery envelope. "Happy Graduation Abs"

I took the envelope into to my hands and ran my fingers across it. I then opened the envelope to reveal 2 One Direction concert tickets!

"OH MY GOD WHAT" I screamed, a little too loud considering we were in restaurant.
"Its what it looks like" Essie said. "And you can pick anyone you want to go with!"
I knew she was hoping I'd pick her. She loved One Direction just as much as I did. She's actually the one who got me hooked on them.
"Hmm, I think I'll take my old roommate, she loved them too!"
"Ooh, i'm sure she'll love it." Essie said.
"OF COURSE I'M TAKING YOU, YOU GOOF!"
"OH GOD ABBIE MICHELLE LANCASTER!!! I NEARLY DIED INSIDE YOU ASS!"
"Okay girls, save the cat fight for later!" Kellin said interrupting us.
"Oh Kels, is someone jealous they can't see their favorite boy band this weekend?" Essie said mockingly.
"Wait, this weekend!? Oh my gosh, even more excited now!" I said.

After Essie and I calmed down, we all finished eating. As I said my goodbyes to family and thanked them for coming, Kellin pulled me aside.
"Abbie, I'm so proud of you, ya know. Even though I give you a hard time. You're like a sister to me. I want you to be extra careful in this big city."
"You're like a big brother Kels, and I will! Plus, i'm not alone. I got Essie!"
"Me and you both know she's kind of crazy."
"Oh shut up Kellin!" I said laughing while giving him an extra big hug. "Call me sometime, okay? and Have a safe flight back to Michigan."
"Sure thing!" We hugged once again and then he was off.

I turned to see Essie waiting for me next to her car. We made eye contact for 3 seconds then we irrupted into fits of screams!

"WE'RE GOING TO SEE ONE DIRECTION. WE'RE GOING TO ONE MOTHER FREAKING DIRECTION" Essie Yelled
"MAYBE ITS THE WAY SHE WALKED....OWWWW" I Sung while walking over to the car.
"STRAIGHT INTO MY HEART AND STOLE ITTT"

The whole way home we listened to One Direction. I seriously could not believe I was seeing them tomorrow night. What the hell would I wear?!
