Chapter 2




I woke up by the sun shining through the tall buildings . I checked the time on my watch .


6:37 am


That means I still had 30 minutes to get to school, cos it starts at 7:15.


I grabbed my bag and made my way over to the McDonalds around the corner . I changed my clothes and washed my face. Then I applied a little bit of mascara . After I brushed my hair and decided I looked average. So I packed everything up, took one final look, and walked to school.



7:08am




I walked through the gates just in time. I even had 7 extra minutes to spare. But what am I going to do with that extra time judging that I don't have any friends or anywhere to hang out ? So I just walked to my locker to drop off my stuff and get my notebook, then off to 1st period, English.

I was the first one in the room . Not even the teacher was in here yet . But the door was open, so I figured I was welcome .


I was sitting down taking out my notebook. I just sat there and waited I really had nothing else to do. So I started drawing a rose.


" What's that you're doing there ? " I heard a voice saying behind me. I was startled, and jumped a bit. I heard them giggle as i did so. I turned around to find a blonde haired boy with light brown roots and beautiful blue-green eyes. He had a baby face, which I personally found adorable.


" uhm, just drawing a , uhm, a rose . " I stumbled. Why was I stuttering ? Ugh.


" It's nice ." He smiled, mouth closed.

"Thanks.. " I stifled a laugh. Then he held out his hand.

"Im Niall " he smiled , revealing his crooked teeth. It wasn't bad, it was cute and made him look younger. More people were walking in now, as the bell had just rung.

" I'm Darcy.. " I said taking the gesture.

" I like your eyes " he smiled letting go of my hand.

" thanks ." I say, slightly blushing.

" Okay class, take your seats. " The teacher, Ms.Vega, said as she walked to her desk, just entering the classroom. " Oh yes, and before I forget, this is our new student, Niall Horan. " she pointed to Niall. He nodded.


Niall took the empty seat next to me, mumbling something under his breath that I didn't catch.

The teacher started her lecture and everyone started working.


7:43am


The class ended in 20 minutes. Ugh, it's been so boring. I mentally scolded myself for sneaking quick glances at Niall every now and then.


" Okay, your homework is .. " I don't know what else she was saying because I decided to zone out and stare at Niall. I know, creepy right ?


*RINGGGGG* the bell rang and first period was over .


I grabbed my things, and made my way towards the door. I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned around.


Of course , it had to be Niall . I was annoyed at first because I was afraid of letting him in, but then he gave me one of his heart melting smiles and that changed everything.


" Hey, so what class do you have next ? " he asked. I noticed he had a tint of pink around his cheeks. Blushing ? It was so cute.


Darcy, snap out of it.


" Uhm, Gym with Mr . A, wha-what about you ?" Dammit , I was stuttering again.


" Really ?! Me too ! " he said, rather enthusiastically . It was adorable, almost childlike. Oh no, here I go again.


DARCY STAHP .


" That's cool " I smiled, but it was a real smile. I surprised myself with that one .


" I know right ?! Lets go ? " he asked, still smiling. Goddammit, I'm never gonna last around someone this adorable. Ugh


" Yea, sure " I smiled again, walking towards the gym.

Once we arrived, we took our seats in the big basketball court . Yes, our school had a basket ball team, " The Suns. " Lame right ? Ugh .



We sat there and waited quietly for instructions from the teacher.


" What are we waiting for ? " Niall whispered, confused. I giggled a bit .


" For Mr. A to get here and tell us what to do. " almost as on que to my words, he walked straight through the doors.



" Hello field mice . " he said with no emotion. He had to be the meanest teacher in the school, unless he was in a good mood. He could be sort of fun.


I heard Niall laugh at Mr.A's remark.


" Okay, today your not going to suit-up because I have an important meeting, so think of this as your free period . No getting out of hand, ill be back towards the end of the period. Remember , the Vice Principles office is right next to the gum and he'll be able to hear you. DO NOT disappoint me. " and with that he was gone.


" OH WAIT ! Is Horan here ? " he said walking back in.

Niall raised his hand awkwardly .


" Ah, nice to meet ya bud. Welcome to Greenville High." He sort of smiled the walked out once again.



" Hehe, I like the teachers here. " Niall started. " They're so welcoming. " he smiled .


Darcy stop it .


" Oh yeah, just wait until you get to know THIS one, he isn't so nice and welcoming after a while. " I laughed.


" Mmmm, so , what are all your classes ? " he smiled, again . Ugh



" Uhm, after this we have nutrition break, but after that my 3rd period is Science, my 4th period is music, 5th period algebra, and 6th History. What about you ? "



" No way. " he said rather amused, but looking at the ground.


" No, I'm serious. " I replied laughing a bit.


" Me too , look at my schedule ! " he said more happy again smiling, handing me a paper with his class schedule on it.

Period 4 : Music, Mr.Sheeran , room BAND

Period 5 : Algebra, Mrs.Luna, room 713

Period 6 : World History, Mrs.Manjarrez






He must've read the surprised look on my face because he started laughing.


" Weird, right ? " he broke the silence.


" Very . " I said still amused . I broke out of my trance by shaking my head a few times and blinking repeatedly. Then made eye contact with eyes bluer than the ocean .


Darcy, you're staring again .



Of course, I never listened to myself, so I just kept staring.


" Like what you see ? " Niall cheekily remarked. Gesturing his hands up and down his body .


" Hah, if you're talking about your eyes then yea. " I replied , although it seemed as if I was trying to convince myself.


" Right .. " he laughed looking down.
