Connie's POV

We both walked back to my house. It was kind of awkward because of the whole hand holding thing. When we got back to my house, the boys were watching a scary movie. Bernice came up to me and gave me a hug because of course she knew what happened.

"Hey, you alright?" She said with a concerned tone.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks Bernice." I said as I smiled at her.

We both hugged each other. We joined the guys in watching a horror movie. It was a pretty chill day and talking to them really made my day. They were making me laugh and they always had things to say. It really kept my mind off of the whole situation.

After the movie, the boys decided they wanted to go eat dinner. We stopped by a local fast food restaurant. All of us ordered like a burger and fries. I wasn't complaining cause I'm the most unhealthiest person ever. We were all just eating and talking, when I noticed Niall seemed a bit sad. He barely touched his food and it seemed like his mind was somewhere else. Liam saw that I was looking at Niall and nudged me.

"Maybe you should go talk to him." He said.

"Talk to him about what?" I asked.

"Maybe ask him why he's seems down all the time." Liam said as he shrugged his shoulders and went back to eating.

I stood up and walked over to Niall.

"Hey Niall, do you want to go on a walk for a bit?" I asked.

Niall looked at me a bit surprised.

"Um, sure." He said as he got up. After that, both of us left.

We were walking and none of us really had much to say. I'm such an awkward person and I don't really know how to start conversations.

"So... I actually wanted to say I'm sorry about what happened at the cafe." He said.

"Oh, no it's okay. I was just a bit surprised and all." I said as I laughed a little bit.

"I saw that you were really upset and I just wanted to comfort you. But in all honesty, you don't deserve someone like Evan. You're sweet, caring, genuine, and one of the most kindest person I know. The next person you end up falling in love with is going to be so lucky to have you." He said.

I stopped and looked at Niall for the longest time.

"Thank you Niall." I said as I hugged him.

Niall leaned in and gave me a kiss on the cheek.

I just kind of looked down because I was turning a bit red and I don't even know why. Like I don't like him like that. And besides, he broke up with me a year ago. He doesn't have feelings for me. Okay, snap out of it Connie.

I snapped out of it. We kept on walking a bit and had small talks.

"So, yeah why did you want to go on a walk?" He asked.

"Oh, well I saw that you were a bit upset while eating and I just wanted to know what was wrong." I asked.

Niall's POV

I stopped for a bit. I can't tell her what's wrong. I can't be like well you know Connie, I'm actually in love with you and breaking up with you was the biggest mistake of my life. And that I just want to hug you, kiss you and hold on to you forever.

Connie waved her hand around my face.

"Hey, are you alright?" She asked.

I snapped out of it.

"I'm fine. I was just a bit upset because they ran out of mustard for my burger." I said with a smile.

Connie started laughing. "Oh, true. I would be upset as well."

We started walking again. We saw a small park and decided to hang out on there for a bit.

Connie's POV

We saw a small park and wanted to hang at the park for a while. Honestly, we were just doing stupid stuff and we started playing tag. Niall was trying to get me, so I had to run as fast as I could.

I hid behind the slide and I couldn't see anyone and was wondering where Niall was. I took a couple of steps back and someone suddenly grabbed my waist.

"I GOT YOU!" He said.

"No! Put me down!" I said as I started to laugh.

"No! You're mine! I'm eating you now!" Niall said.

"Don't eat me!" I said as I started to laugh harder.

Niall turned me around and we both started laughing together. We were also really close to each others' faces.

We both made eye contact with each other. We both started leaning in when suddenly a ball landed right in the middle of us.

Niall's POV

"I'm sorry!" A little girl said.

Connie picked up the ball and handed it back to her. At that moment, I clenched my fist because that small moment was interrupted.

"It's fine sweetie! Here you go." She said.

The little girl walked away and Connie turned back towards me.

"Do you want to go back to the restaurant?" Connie asked.

"Sure." I said.

We both walked back to the boys.

"Oh, there you guys are! We thought you guys got lost!" Harry said.

"We're going to Bernice's house, let's go!" Zayn said.

We all headed back to the car and to Bernice's house. When we got there, we all flopped on the couch. We all just sat and talked for a couple of hours until we realized it was already midnight.

"I don't want to drive all the way back!" Harry said in a whiny tone and started pouting to Bernice.

"You can stay over if you want. You guys can all stay over. My parents are gone for the night on a short business trip." Bernice said.

"SLEEPOVER!" Louis screamed.

Connie's POV

"SLEEPOVER!" Louis screamed.

Bernice went upstairs to get extra sleeping bags, blankets and pillows for the boys. Bernice also asked me to stay over and I was kind of hesitant at first. I get nightmares a lot and I don't know why. Then, I just randomly start screaming and my parents tell me that I scream Niall's name sometimes as well.

I don't know, when we were dating before, I always felt a sense of comfort having him, which is why I had no nightmares. Since we broke up, it started happening again.

It was around 4am and the boys were getting restless. They all fell asleep and so did Bernice. I didn't want to sleep where all the boys slept because I'm scared they'll get startled when they hear me scream. I quietly walked upstairs and slept in Bernice's bed.

Niall's POV

All of us were pretty tired, so we all fell asleep. All of a sudden, I heard screaming. I woke up and took a couple of seconds to gather my thoughts. Where did the screaming come from? It sounded like it was coming from upstairs. I looked at the boys and Bernice and I couldn't find Connie.

I quickly ran upstairs to Bernice's room and I saw Connie. She was definitely having a nightmare.

"Stop! Stop! Niall? Niall! Where are you?" Connie said in her sleep.

"Shh, Connie it's alright I'm here. It's okay, shh." I said as I held her.

She stopped screaming.

Connie's POV

After I stopped screaming, my eyes were opened really small and I could see Niall holding me.

"Shh, Connie it's alright I'm here. It's okay, shh."

I could feel him gently putting my head back on the pillow.

I heard him let out a huge sigh as he leaned to kiss my forehead.

"Good night, Connie. I love you." He whispered.

I slowly closed my eyes.
