Before I Met You

Chapter Two

I woke up around eleven in the morning the next day.Rubbing my eyes, I sat up and groaned. Today was the first day of soccer practice, and I was not looking forward to it.
Throwing the sheets off of my body, I stood up and stretched. Shuffling my feet, I walked over into the bathroom. I looked into the mirror and snorted. My hair was in knots and my face was all greasy.
Turning around, I started the shower and waited a minute before stepping in.
After I had washed my hair, face, and body, I shaved my legs and then got out. Wrapping a towel around my body, I dried my hair and put in my contacts.
I didn't even bother getting dressed in normal clothes, I just put on the clothes I was going to wear to practice.
Going downstairs, I saw the note that Karen had left me.
Sam,
Had an emergency meeting at work, won't be there to take you to practice.
Mr.Twist, a good friend of mine, will be there to pick you up. Have fun!
P.s,
I will be there to pick you up after though.

I rolled my eyes and headed over to the kitchen to get food. I picked out some ramen noodles and made those really quick.
The spare hours I had before soccer practice seemed to pass by quickly.
Before I knew it, there was a knock on the front door.
Grabbing my cleats and soccer bag, I opened the door.
curly, the guy from yesterday, was standing there.
"Dimples! How are you?" He asked me with a smile, revealing dimples of his own.
"Why are you here?" I asked, furrowing my eye brows.
"Taking you to soccer practice! Duh." He joked.
"Mr. Twist is your father?"
"Well, step father, but I see him as a father yes. So, shall we?" He asked, coking his head to the side.
I shrugged and pulled the front door closed behind me.
We walked out to the car and he opened the door for me. "Thanks." I muttered.
"Hello Sam!" Mr. Twist greeted me.
Why the hell was everyone in this town so fucking happy all the time?
"Hello Mr. Twist." I said quietly.
"Don't bother calling me that. Call me Robin." He smiled .
We drove off towards the school.
"So Karen has told me quite about you."
I snapped my eyes over to Curly, who still hasn't told me his name.
"Really?" I said.
He nodded. "She told me you're a wonderful soccer player."
Bull shit. She has NEVER seen me play before.
"Harry here is the captain of his team. He's played since he's been around four years old! Isn't that right Harry?"
Harry snorted. "Yeah I guess."
Harry seemed quite embarrassed at the fact that his step father was bragging about him so much.
The rest of the ride was pretty much robin talking the whole time.
When we got to the school, I thanked Robin quietly and hurried out of the car.
"Wait up Dimples." Harry called.
I slowed down the slightest bit.
"Sorry about Robin. He's... He's not that bad once you get to know him. I promise. He's just quite the talker." He chuckled.
I nodded and continued walking.
"Why don't you talk? You're so quiet!" He remarked.
I stopped. "Maybe I fucking like being quiet Okey. Now if you excuse me, I have to go to my field and I believe you have to go to yours. So bye." I said, leaving him speechless, behind.
Hurrying over to the girl's field, I sat down on the bench and put my shin guards, socks, and cleats on.
"Samantha! Glad you could make it!" Brian said.
I simply nodded.
Some of the girls looked at me like I was a strange alien.
One girl, with blonde hair, walked over to me and sat down beside me.
"Hi!" She said.
"Are you gonna look at me like I'm a fucking strange alien too?" I snapped.
She frowned. "No. Don't worry. I'm not like them. Just ignore it. My name's Brooke. I heard you're the new girl, Samantha."
I nodded. "Sorry I snapped."
She smiled. "Don't worry. I understand the pain of moving."
If only she knew...
Brooke was my partner for the exercises that we did. They were just easy basics, but there managed to be some people who couldn't do barely anything. Freshman proably.
"Hey." I called out to one of them.
The poor girl was struggling so much, I felt so bad and I HAD to help her.
She looked up at me and frowned.
" I know. I suck. Don't bother rubbing it in my face like the others do."
I shook my head. "Don't fucking listen to them Okey. Don't give up. I'm here to help you."
She sighed. "Thank you."
I helped the girl with dribbling. She kicked with her toe, and I showed her that she had to kick it with the inside of her foot, or it will never go where she wanted it to. She managed to get that down.
Through out the rest of practice, I helped several freshman.
The other juniors and seniors rolled their eyes at me.
Brooke had come over to help me too after a little while.
When practice ended, I went to fill up my bottle one last time, when a senior cut in front of me.
"Excuse me." She snapped.
I pushed her out of the way. "I don't think so. I don't put up with that shit. You can wait your turn." I said and filled mine up.
"Look. I don't know who the hell you think you are, just magically appearing and thinking you own this field, but you don't. So just back up and be the social put cast you look like."
That set me off. "Listen up you fake bitch. 1. I'm Samantha Drake. 2. I don't own this field, and neither do you. Why don't you take yourpose and back the hell up. You don't scare me, and quite frankly your little act is pathetic. You should really work on it." I said and grabbed my bag.
I walked over to the parking lot and looked for Karen's car.
"Sam." I heard Harry's voice call out.
I ignored him and spotted Karen's car. Hurrying over to it, I got in and sighed.
"How was practice? She asked.
"Fine. Easy." I shrugged.
We drove off back to the house.
That night, Karen called my name.
"Sam! Somebody wants to talk to you," she said.
I sighed and went down the stairs.
"Who is it?" I asked.
"Harry." She mouthed.
"Give me the damn phone." I muttered
"Language." She warned.
"Oops." I said, rolling my eyes.
She handed me the phone.
"What do you want?" I asked.
"Good evening to you too." He laughed.
"Did I not make it clear enough that I'm pissed and I don't want to talk to you?"
"Ouch." He said.
"Don't care. You have one minute to get to your point of why you called."
"You're a harsh one aren't you? Bloody hell. I was wondering what exactly I did and why you're mad. But uh, I can kinda see that you hate me."
"I..." The thing was, I didn't have a reason to hate him. In fact, I don't really even know why I was so mad at him.
"I don't hate you. I'm just easily fumed. I get triggered easily."
"Awe. You're a softie though and can't stay mad at me, can you?"
"Shut up. No I'm not." I said defensively.
He laughed. "You are so a softie. I saw you helping out the freshmen today."
"That doesn't mean shit. You don't know me Harry."
"Oh Dimples." He sighed.
"I think you had more than a minute Harry."
"That's Okey. I'll just see you tomorrow before practice then."
I could just hear the amusement in his voice.
"What the hell do you mean by "before practice"?"
"I convinced Karen to let Robin to pick you up tomorrow again. She said that would be great."
"Asshole." I mumbled.
"See you tomorrow love!" He said and ended the call.
I slammed the phone down and went up to my room.
Throwing myself down onto the bed, I groaned into the sheets.
Why me?
