Rescuing Leah

"Leah I swear to god i'm going to kill you, come out wherever the hell you are" My dad slurred

I was hiding behind the shelves in my room, I barely squeezed myself into the tight space but it was better than being beat by my dad.

My dad was a big drunk, I never knew why my mom stayed with him for as long as she did honestly she deserved better than that.

"I swear to god when i find you i'm going to kill you lazy, worthless, not good for nothing ass you hear me" He said once again

I held my breath thinking that if I did that then he wouldn't find me, you see my mum died over a year ago in a car accident and ever since my dad has taken his frustrations out on me.

He would beat me and force me to clean the house and sometimes when he was in the mood he would rape me because he could, I hated him with a passion and I just wanted someone to save me from this.

I asked myself why did no one come and save me from him, from myself I hated this life I didn't see the point in living but I knew if I tried to kill myself then I wouldn't go to heaven and see my mum.

So I walked through life wishing I had a better one and going to school didn't help me much considering I got bullied and beat up there to.

I guess I was the target for everyone's anger, I was laughed at because I didn't have the best clothes or the best shoes and I wasn't rich or captain of the cheer leading squad.

The "Popular Girls" would talk about me when I came into the bathroom saying things like:

"Sarah I told you to put the trash in the trash can"

Then they would laugh at me and tell me to get out even if I had to pee, no one cared for me I had no friends, no life, no real parents I was a hopeless mess.

My dad came closer to where I was hidden snapping me from my thoughts and making my heart beat faster.

He peeked behind the shelves, once he spotted me he took my arm forcefully and dragged me out and onto my bed where he straddled me and started to beat me while screaming at me.

I screamed for someone to help me as tears ran down my face because no one was coming, then I remembered no one was going to come for me, no one cared about me after all I was a 12 year old girl who was nothing to this town...nothing to this world.

I gave up tying to fight back and just laid there taking each blow that came my way and waiting to great death, but death never came so I was left to clean up my bloody face wishing I was dead.
