Losing and gaining

Chapter 13
It was time for the big football game. The season had began, and it being April, it was still a little chilly outside, but us cheerleaders pushed through. Our routine was perfect. It was my first cheer routine and I wanted to impress. Niall also needed to impress, there was gossip of a couple scouts coming for colleges. The boys got out in their first line up as we did the mini cheer to help bring up the crowds enthusiasm. The game started and our boys had the ball first, almost making it to the endzone right away. As the game went on, the two teams fought to stay on top. Thy had 5 minutes and were tied. We had the ball. Niall grabbed it and ran down the field, the cheerleaders screaming their heads off. Touch down! I couldn't help myself, I ran on the field and jumped into his arms , kissing him through the helmet. I didn't care thathe was sweaty! The rest of the team and the cheerleaders caught up and we all did a big happy dance. On the way home from the game, Niall replayed every moment for me, all I could do was mile and shake my head. I went a different route to his house this time, the usually route had construction. "Hey Peyton, we should go see the fortune teller!" Niall exclaimed pointing to the neon sign off the road. I shrugged and turned to the shop. It stank of smoke and must but Niall didn't seem to care. "Hello my lovelies, for 5$ I will tell both of your fortunes." I handed to money to the old lady and she began with Niall
"everything may seem right right now, but trouble will a fall you in the coming year or so. Be careful where you go!" Niall nodded taking it in. Then it was my turn.
"The same for you but this time round a small gift will be brought 'bound! Be careful what you wish and seek, for it will be small and meek. " I had no idea what that meant.
She continued. " now for both of you you've gained each other, but through your relationship you will face loss. Hold tight through it and you will surely gain once more. " I nodded and thanked her before leaving.
As I crawled into bed that night her words kept playing in my mind. Losing and gaining, what could that mean?
