I take a deep breath, still recovering from the threatening by Amy, and start the car again. We are really close to our office and Amy decides to turn the radio back on. I attempt to turn it back off but then Amy sends a scary glare at me and I instantly back off. Ugh! She always knows what gets me. She turns the volume up on the radio. I expect to hear another lame One Direction song but instead we get a breaking news:

"Hey, this is Sarah and Sam on your favorite 109.8 radio. We know everyone's expecting another beautiful song by One Direction.
I snort at the word beautiful, but I make sure to do it quietly 'cause I don't think Amy would appreciate that.

" We've just received some quiet shocking news that is going to send the world into catastrophe. Seems that the famous boy band of One Direction including Harry styles, Niall horan, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, and Liam Payne, have gone missing. That's right, you heard me well. MISSING?! How? well, it seems the boys were sent on a cruise for an early vacation before their tour in a couple of weeks but turns out that all communication was lost a couple of hours ago and rescue teams have been searching everywhere but no one has found any of them and the cruise ship has disappeared. The search is still going on and we won't know anything for another two days. So, directioners out there.. keep your fingers crossed and pray for these boys. We don't wanna lose them yet. Especially after they recently made a hit album that's spreading like wild fire everywhere. On that note, here we have our all time favorite song Midnight Memories, by the one and only One Direction.
We finally reached the tall building that I was very fond of. Our work place. I turned to look over at Amy and she was in tears and her eyes were red in pain and sadness. Oh god! I always knew she liked the band.. but i didn't know she liked them THIS much.
"Hey Amy.. you okay darling?" She shot arrows at me with her eyes. "D-do I l-look o-okay-y to you?" she said trying to mask her upset feeling with that of anger. I realized that maybe she wasn't just a normal fan of this band. I took her hand in mine and gently squeezed it. "I'm sure that by tomorrow, they'll be all over the news saying that they were found. Trust me.. I mean the whole world's practically searching for them. They'll show up. Now.. c'mon! Wipe those tears before our boss yells at us for being late, yet again." She wiped her tears and laughed a little. "You mean that short bald guy whose always trying to get your attention? Psh... he's fucking scared of me. Remember how last time i put a condom in his file and during the meeting when he pulled it out, he looked like he was gonna throw up?" She was laughing hysterically at the memory now. "That fool couldn't even try to act angry. He's pathetic." I laughed a little. I mean, that was a funny meeting but I still think what she did was wrong. Mr. Boot was our boss and even though he can be a little weird, he was still a hard-working man and I respect him for that.

"Alright calm down missy. Now if you can stop your laughter, I'd really like to get going. seriously."

She took several deep breaths calming herself from her laughing fit and looked in the mirror before saying "alright, let's go."

We walked into the building and made our way to Mr.Boot's office. We knocked and heard a scratchy voice say "Come in."

We walked in and found our boss with a cup of coffee and dressed with his classic brown suit and this time, a green tie.
"Ah well, look who we have here. Late again Miss Sterling and.. Miss Baker" I noticed he slightly blushed when he said my name but I, like always, ignored it.

"I'm so sorry Mr.Boot. It won't happen again." I quickly say. He smiles at me and leans on his desk, i guess in attempt to look cool and says, "Oh, that's quite alright Miss Baker. I know you didn't mean it." I just nod my head at him and look over at Amy gently nudging my elbow at her to say her 'sorry' as well. But she just looks at me and rolls her eyes and then looks sassily at her nails. Mr.Boot clears his throat and Amy looks up. "What?" she says with distinct annoyance. "Can we like go now? like seriously, I have work ya know." I look at her in panic. Is this girl crazy or what? we could lose our job! "Amy.. stop it" I hiss under my breath before flashing a smile at mr.boot. She just huffs and says "whatever."
Mr. Boot just stares at Amy in frustration before taking a deep breath and saying, "Actually, I was going to talk to both of you. Would you like to sit down? I suppose you would want to hear me out first before telling me what your answer is."

Huh? what answer? I walk up to his desk and sit in one of the chairs and Amy takes the seat next to mine.

Mr Boot sits down in his and clasps his hands together before speaking. "Okay. This company as you know is dedicated in getting powerful knowledge about the marine life on this planet. And you should know that when we get an opportunity to explore some unknown part of the ocean, we definitely will make the most out of it. Well, we recently got an opportunity from the Pacific Corp. asking us to send a team of marine scientists to investigate the new location in the ocean that seems to hold interesting evidence of marine life. So, I wanted to select two leaders to take up this investigation and you, Miss Baker, was the first person that came to my mind. You are most certainly qualified and I know you've been waiting for an opportunity like this. And as for you, Miss Sterling, I just felt that since you seem to be pretty close with Miss Baker, I decided you could accompany her. I'm also allowing you to hand pick the members of your team. So, How does that seem?"

I just sat their in disbelief. I can't believe it! I've been waiting so long for an opportunity like this!
"uh... I..üh.." I couldn't speak. "That's her way of saying yes." Amy spoke for me. Thank god! I wouldn't want to pass up an opportunity like this one.
"Excellent!" Mr.boot smiled. He handed over a file to me and said," Here's all the information you'll need to know about this operation and I'd rather you keep it a secret for now. You can start researching and planning out who you want for your team. You have two months to prepare so pick the right people and get to work. I wish you good luck!" He stood up and held out his hand. Amy shook it first and I shook it next. Except when I shook it and tried to pull my hand back, he held on to it. Amy noticed my discomfort and ripped his hand away from mine saying, "I think Harley here wants her hand back." We quickly rushed out of the room. I then turned around and squealed in delight. "OMAGUD AMMYY!!! AHH!! I can't believe it. We're going to explore and we're in lead! I can't believe it!" She smiled at me and gave me hug and said,"Alright ya jumpy chipmunk. Calm down before people think there is something wrong."

Agh! This is a dream come true. I hope this operation is a success and I can't wait for two months to be over so we can begin. This is going to be a very interesting adventure. I can feel it.

Little did i know that 'interesting'.. was a very big understatement.
