I woke up in a room, it was filled with darkness. My hands were tied to the back of a chair I was currently sitting on. I could hear the sound of feet shuffling around the room. I could feel a hot breath breathing on my cheeks.
“Ahh, you’re awake.” The guy cooed. His voice was familiar, it was the guy from the car just now. I tried kicking but my leg wouldn’t budge, they were tied up too. I felt a source of heat above me as he bent over to untie a cloth that covered my eyes. I could see the room rather clearly now, it was filled with darkness, only a light bulb was hanging directly above me, providing some light to my surroundings.
“Who are you?!” I screamed at him, but realized that my mouth was taped.
“Trying to speak, baby?” He chuckled as he caressed my cheek. He pulled out his phone from the back of his pocket before punching in a few numbers. The tone that was produce every time a different number was pressed sounded familiar, I’ve been taught the pitch of the tone that was produce by every single number during my classes. I put the number together and realized that it was my dad’s. He pressed the call button before placing the phone to his ear.
“Good afternoon, Mr Buchanon.” He greeted through the phone. He shifted the phone away from his ear and held it up at arms length after pressing the speaker button.
“Good afternoon, who is this?” My dad questioned.
“I want 20 million in my bank or she’s dead.” He said rather smoothly.
“And who is the ‘she’ are you talking about?” My dad chuckled.
“Your daughter. I’ve got her here next to me.”
“Sure you do and I’m very sure she’s in her room too.” My dad let out another laugh before the line went dead. Tears started to form before gushing down onto my cheeks.
“Oh don’t cry, baby. Do you want me to call again?” He asked as he wiped of my tears with his thumb. I nodded eagerly. He pulled out his phone again and dialed the same number, smirking before putting the phone on speaker again. *Ring* *Ring* *Ring* *Ring* The phone kept on ringing, I was losing faith after every ring.
“The number you have dialed is currently unavailable, please call again later”
“I guess daddy doesn’t want you anymore.” He let out a loud chuckle as he exited the room.
