The Boy with the Butterfly Tatoo
Meet the Girls
Jovy's POV
I rush back to my apartment to see what clothes I have. Ugh. Nothing good. Great. Poor Harry will be going on a date with a hobo tonight.
My phone buzzes in my back pocket and I pull it out to read a message from Harry.
From Harry: Hey love:) Wear something casual for tonight. What we're doing is a surprise, but you don't need to dress up:) xx
From me: Ok:) I have no idea what to wear:( When I moved here, I had limited suitcase space, so I don't really have much nice to wear. And also, I'm broke, so shopping isn't an option haha
From Harry: I'm sorry:( want me to call a couple friends of mine? They're pros. They know how to make any outfit look designer. But I think you'll look beautiful anyway;) xx
From me: Thank you:) and yes that would be very helpful! who is it?
From Harry: Eleanor, Danielle, and Perrie. They're Louis, Liam, and Zayn's girls. They're fantastic:)
From me: Ok:) that would be lovely:)
It took a few minutes, but Harry eventually responded with: El says she and the girls will be over in an hour:)
From me: Thanks Harry:)
I threw my phone on my bed and walked back over to my closet. I scrounged through some clothes and threw on a loose black tank and white capris. I slipped on my black ballet slippers and went out to my living area as i threw my hair up in a messy bun. I went to my kitchen and made mac and cheese for the four-hundreth time this week and sat down to watch Spongebob, as I am still a child at heart.
I must have dozed off after my lunch, because i woke up at three o'clock to the sound of my doorbell. I quickly placed my dish in the sink and ran to open the door.
Standing there were three gorgeous girls; two with brown hair and one with blonde hair that was dip died pink. They were all smiling.
"I'm Eleanor!" says the girl with brown wavy hair and dark eyes that shine when she smiles. "You must be Jovy!"
"That I am," I say shaking her hand. "And you two are?" I say looking at the other girls.
The blonde speaks first. "I'm Perrie," She says with a smile.
"And I'm Danielle," says the other brunette, whose hair is much curlier than Eleanor's.
"Nice to meet you. Please, come in," I say, opening the door for them. They come in and we all go straight to the couch, settling in to talk.
El starts the ball rolling. "So Jovy, where are you from?"
"Texas," I answer, picking up a throw pillow and placing it in my lap. "Austin to be exact."
"Oh, How lovely!" Perrie says. "I've always wanted to go to Austin. What's it like?
"It's wonderful. I loved downtown with my family in a condo where my brother and I were homeschooled by my mom. We often went on walks down Guatalupe street, where all the best shops are. The people there are quite... unique. And very weird. But being weird is something all Austin inhabitants want to be because it maeans you're unique." I say, smiling.
"You miss it?" El asks.
I nod, looking at my hands and playing with my fingers as nastalgia takes me over. "Yeah. Quite a bit actually."
"I'm sorry," El says, looking sad.
I shake my head. "It's alright. I live here now. London will begin to feel like home soon. I can feel it."
The girls smile. We continue to talk about Austin as I tell stories about my embarrassing family for about two hours. Then the girls jump up when they see the clock.
"Oh no! You only have an hour and a half to get ready!" El says, frantically grabbing my arm and dragging me to my room, Dani and Perrie trailing behind hastily.
I giggle. "It's ok, El. I have plently of time."
"Not for primping! Sit," El says, pushing my lightly onto my bed as she and the girls open my closet. For a few minutes, they chatter on about colors and style and patterns and such, but they eventually settle on my white rolling stones loose tank, my jean jacket, black jeans, and white converse. I put the outfit on, and as soon as my jacket slips on, they push me into the bathroom and set me on a stool facing away from the mirror because they don't want me peeking at my reflection. When I try to look, El grabs my shoulders, turning me back and saying, "Uh-uh, cheater!" Dani is curling my hair while Perrie and El work their makeup-magic on my face. It feels like forever that I'm sitting there. My butt is going numb.
I groan. "How much longer?" I say, sounding like a little kid in the car on a ten hour road trip.
"Almost done. Hold still," Perrie says. With one last stroke of a mascara brush, she steps back and smiles.
"Okay," she says. "Go ahead and look."
I stand up and turn to the mirror. My jaw drops a little. Standing where my replection should be is a girl with dazzling blue eyes, curly blonde hair, and red lips. She looks like a London girl. She looks like she belongs. I look like I belong here. I smile.
"Soooo?" El says expectantly.
"I don't like it," I say, and upon seeing their faces, I smile. "I love it!"
They squeal and group hug me, giggling and squeezing the life out of me.
We break apart when we hear my doorbell ring. The girls smile and go to answer the door, leaving me alone in the bathroom to look at the stranger in my mirror.
"Jovy!" Perrie says. "Harry's here!" I hear the other two girls giggle.
I rip my focus from the mirror and make my way out of the bathroom and down the short hallway. I take a deep breathe to slow my heartbeat, then step out into the living area, where Harry stands, staring at me, a smile growing on his perfect lips.
