The Babysitter
Breakfast
Makaylas POV
When I woke up I could hear the rain pattering softly on the roof. I loved the sound of it. Well, I guess I just loved rain in general. Rainy days were dark and grey and you can sit inside all day without feeling guilty. I got up and went over to my window. The clear drops rolled down the glass slowly. They were in no rush to get to the ground, they just enjoyed the adventure.
Maybe I need to think like that. I need to relax a bit. Last week was probably the most hellish week of my entire life. Nothing went right. I was humiliated not once, but twice. I fought with Luke a countless amount of times. I began the week with a fiery hatred for the blonde boy, which had developed into understanding and tolerance and dare I say it, a crush.
I liked him when he was nice. He was also more awkward and insecure than he let on. I had always seen him as a rough guy who didn't let anyone in. He was just putting on a show though. I got to see how he behaved outside of school. He was just a normal teenage boy who liked to play guitar and got embarrassed fairly easily.
I just hoped that he would stay like that. His asshole alter persona was tiring and annoying.
I yawned and stetched, pulling down the shade so I could change. My drawers were somewhat empty, because I had worn a good amount of my clothes already. I had no clue how to do laundry either. My mom still did my laundry for me, which meant I'd have to wait until she got back to wear some of the things I already had this week. Great. Of course I wore all my best outfits already. All I had left were 2 or 3 pairs of sweatpants and random tshirts.
I grabbed one of each and changed out of my pajamas. It didn't feel much different honestly. I braided my bangs back into a frenchbraid headband and tied it up into a ponytail. I figured that we wouldn't be leaving the house today. I might as well relax and do some things like painting my nails and plucking my eyebrows. You know, little maintenance things.
I opened my door and saw that Luke was still sprawled asleep in his room. His long arm was hanging off the bed so far that it was an inch from touching the floor. Small snores escaped his lips. His hair was a whole other story, it was everywhere. I giggled a bit before heading downstairs. I wasn't too motivated to actually make breakfast, so I shoved whole wheat bread into the toaster and called it a day.
While I waited, I texted Audrey. (M= underline A=bold)
"Hey, did you get home safe?"
"Um yeah I'm fine,"
"What's wrong?"
"Oh nothing,"
"C'mon tell me! Did something happen after I left?"
"Well yeah I guess,"
"What?"
"I kinda slept with someone
