The Babysitter

He's Sorry

Day 5- Saturday night

We ran to the party. It wasn't that far, granted we did hop a couple fences and almost got caught by a grumpy old man. I wondered if Luke realized we were gone already. I smiled at the thought of him checking on us and finding that we weren't even there.

"There are a lot of people here," Audrey commented.
I nodded my head, "yeah! it should be fun though."
After this week, I needed some kind of release. Dancing seemed like quite a fun option. I honestly sucked at most dancing, but I would say I was pretty good at party dancing.

"Hey!" Ethan grinned, coming over to me with a lazy grin on his face, "I'm so glad you could make it!"
"Thanks for inviting us," I smiled happily, "it looks like a pretty sick party,"
He smirked, "you want something to drink?"

I looked to Audrey who nodded her head eagerly.
"Yeah," I agreed.
"I'm gonna go talk to Leah," Audrey told me.
I nodded my head. Ethan held out a hand, which I took graciously. He lead me through the crowd of unfamiliar people, to his kitchen. I wouldn't have come if he went to my school. He went to CM, the all boys school a couple towns over, so the people here weren't from my school. That meant I could come without being harassed by anyone.

"What do you drink?" He asked
I shrugged, "just a beer I guess,"
He nodded and grabbed two. He opened them both and handed me one before taking the other for himself.
"You look nice," he smiled
I blushed, "thanks, you look nice too,"

We started talking. I knew him pretty well, I met him when I was 13 at an 8th grade dance at his then middle school. We didn't really speak much after that until last summer when I ran into him again.
Since then, we'd been pretty close, I would say. He was a nice boy, he was really smart and funny. He was also a lacrosse player, like me, so we bonded over that.

We talked for a good half hour before his friends called him over. He went over to them, and I went out into the livingroom. I tossed my finished beer in the trash and found Audrey out on the dance floor.

"Ayye!" She giggled when she saw me, "I was looking for my dancing partner!"
"I'm here!" I assured.

We were dancing together and having the best time.
"From the window! To the wall!" Audrey sang
Till the sweat drops down my balls!"I cackled.
One minute I was having such a good time and the next a hand gripped my shoulder. I turned and saw Luke. Fuck. So he did know where I was and how to get there. I forgot that he was friends with Ethan too.
"Oh hey Luke," I laughed nervously.

He glared, "I fucking told you no,"
I huffed, "I couldn't miss this party! I had to talk to Ethan!"
His glared went ice cold at that.
"We're leaving," he stated cooly.
"No we aren't," I crossed my arms, "you can go home. I'm staying,"

He rolled his eyes, "Makayla I'm serious,"
"So am I," I glared, "I'm gonna be 17 in a month, I'm not a child,"
"You're acting like one," he snapped.
"You're treating me like one, so I'm gonna act like it," I shot back.
"Fine. If you don't come with me right now, I'm telling your parents what their perfect little princess did,"

My stern expression stopped. Damn, he had me where he wanted me now.

"You wouldn't," I narrowed my eyes.
"Yes I would," he smirked, "now c'mon,"

I sighed and nodded. Audrey was a couple feet away, trying to give us space to argue. I told her I had to go and asked her if she needed a ride, but she said she wanted to stay later anyways.
I was hoping she'd want a ride home. Then I wouldn't have to be alone with Luke in the car. But she didn't, and now I was going to pay. I was prepared for the absolute worst.

He didn't even wait till we got the car to chew me our for the entire situation. He was already yelling as we went down the front steps of Ethan's house.

"I can't believe you fucking snuck out!" He rambled, mostly to himself.
I sighed and got into the passenger seat of his car.
"Do you know how worried I was? What if something happened to you and I hadn't checked your room? I wouldn't have been able to help you!" He continued.

I sat silently, I didn't know what to say. He wasn't giving me any time to fit in a defense either, shot after shot was fired at me.

"You don't even care do you?" He barked.
I flinched at his volume and looked away helplessly.
"Do you?" He repeated.
I opened my mouth, struggling to respond, "I-I do."

"Then why did you do it?" He seethed.
"I just wanted to have fun," I muttered shakily, "I don't see why you care so much. You do shit like that all the time,"
"I can take care of myself," he snorted.
"So can I" I glared, "my parents are gone just as much as you're are,"

That shut him up. The ride was really short, so it was only 2 minutes of silence before we arrived home. I retreated inside quickly.

"Mick," he called, "we aren't done!"
"Yes we are," I snapped, "you've said everything you wanted to."
"Makayla," he warned lowly.

I stopped back down the stairs angrily. He was less than I foot from me. I stood with my fists clenched at my sides and my eyes narrowed at him.

"You know you've got a lot of nerve," I said calmly, "this is my house. I don't need to follow your fucking rules Hemmings, and if you don't like that then you can get out and go live with your friends,"
If eyes could kill, I'd be long dead by now. His blue eyes were so deadly and cold. He took a step towards me. I crossed my arms to stand my ground, but he kept coming. I had no choice but to back into the wall. He glared down at me. I had no escape, I was stuck firmly between him and the wall.

"What are you gonna do?" I tested, "ground me? Put me in time out for being bad?"
He growled, clenching his fists, "why do you have to be so damn stubborn?!"
He raised his fist and I immediately cowered back. He slammed his fist into the wall next to my head. I shrieked and pushed him away.

He went wide eyed, realizing what he just did.
"Oh my god," he gasped.
I did to waste any time running up the stairs, to my room, and locking the door. I heard his steps after me.
"Mickey!" He called, "Mickey please! I didn't mean to! I'm sorry!"

Notes

Hii!

So, yeah this is a story once again. Abusive relationships are dangerous and if you are in one, do not be afraid to speak up to others and ask for help. Even if you are being threatened, once you tell someone, they can protect you from getting hurt.

anyway onto a less serious subject. I'm american, if you haven't noticed. I tend to use american slang like "sick" (cool) and "barrel" (trash can). I also have an accent and I tend to write the same way I would talk. I swear I'm trying, but if you see spelling errors like "goin" or "bein" that's just because I never pronounce the "ing" I drop the g. If you don't understand a word I've used, don't be afraid to ask!

Now, I must watch hockey
