Chapter Two

Autumn’s P.O.V
Classes started the Monday after we moved in. I was taking twelve credit hours which meant I only had two classes a day. Possibly the best freaking schedule ever made!
“Aren’t you going to your first day of classes?” Lizzie asked me as she passed by my open bedroom door.
“My first class isn’t until ten.” I grumbled. It was only seven o’clock which I meant I had at least an hour and thirty minutes left of sleep. In theory that is, because Lizzie was making quite the ruckus in the bathroom directly across from my room. Eventually I threw off my plush lavender cover and closed my door. Morning is not my time of day.
“I’m gone!” Lizzie yelled as she loudly closed the door to our new home and left. I sighed happily and closed my eyes. The sleep returned in time, but it left quickly. My alarm went off taking my mom’s place of forcing me out of bed. Slowly I dragged myself to the bathroom to take a nice hot shower.
A little over thirty minutes later I was dressed in stonewash jean high waist shorts and a black graphic crop tee with black Yellow Box flip-flops. My hair was in its signature curls. In a rush I locked the apartment door. I had twenty minutes before my first class and our apartment was at least ten minutes away. On my way to the parking lot, Harry appeared seemingly in a rush as well.
“Oversleep?” I asked noticing his slightly wrinkled shirt.
He smiled, “Unfortunately, you?”
“I took too long finding something to wear.” Harry chuckled as I shrugged nonchalantly. “How many classes do you have today?”
“Uh, only two for me.” He responded as we bound down the metal stairs.
I gasped, “Oh my gosh, me too! We should carpool!” I suggested eagerly. Going green is all the rage and what’s a better way to go green than to ride with a hot Brit?
“We should. I’m not familiar with driving in the States.” Harry admitted sheepishly. We stopped now standing the parking lot of our apartment complex.
“Luckily for you, I was born and raised in the States.” I winked at him before heading to my black Lincoln LS. Harry looked at me curiously before following. He and I could be great friends.

Lizzie was supposed to meet me at the student center for lunch. As I entered the busy building buzzing with the excitement of college freshmen away from home, I looked around for my blonde friend. I had no clue what she was wearing when she left, but somehow I managed to spot her in line at the Sub-Connection. Weaving through the mass I made my way to her.
“There you are. I thought you stood me up.” Lizzie informed me when I tapped her shoulder.
“Oh I would never do that.” I spoke innocently shaking my head. “What are you getting?”
“I’ve got to make up for all of that pizza. I think I’m going with a simple toasted turkey and Swiss.” She patted her toned abdomen.
“Well you enjoy that. I’ll be over here.” I pointed to the A&W stand. Their cheese curds were like heaven in little fried bites. Lizzie nodded stepping forward to place her order. After getting our easy lunches Lizzie and I looked around the university food court for somewhere to sit. We decided to go outside to one of the round concrete tales. Both of us needed some serious sunlight. As we sat discussing how our classes had gone and what our professors were like, two shadows in the shape of human bodies descended upon us. I looked down forming a visor with my hand so that my eyes were able to see in the sunlight. Harry smiled at me while Niall looked at my food with lustful eyes.
“Ugh, what do you want?” Lizzie groaned looking directly at Niall. The brief connection they had when they first met had long disappeared.
“Mind if we join you?” Harry asked motioning to the empty spots available. I shrugged carelessly moving over so he could have a seat.
“Anyways as I was saying,” Lizzie continued. “I looked Dr. Rothman up on Rate My Professor and he has good reviews. There were a lot of chili peppers.” Unlike me, Lizzie had three classes on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and one on Tuesday and Thursday.
“Dr. Rothman for Survey of the Music Industry? I have that class next.” Niall piped in now munching on a slice of pizza.
Lizzie’s face fell dramatically, “You’re taking Survey of the Music Industry? You aren’t even a music major.”
Niall shrugged, “Yeah, but I like music.” His words seemed to only infuriate my best friend further. She pursed her lips tightly as her nostrils flared.
“I think she’s going to explode.” I leaned over to whisper to Harry. He chuckled as we continued to watch Lizzie’s temperature rise while Niall ate obliviously. Eventually she calmed herself down and turned her attention back to her lunch.
“So are you done for the day?” Harry asked me breaking the silence that had somehow settled over our table. I nodded seeing as how I was currently chewing. “Me too, I’ll just catch a ride back with you then.” He decided before looking at me with wide eyes, “If that’s okay.” He quickly added as if he was frightened that he had offended me.
I chortled (so attractive), “It’s fine.” I assured him clearing my throat and looking away with wide eyes. “Chortle Autumn, did you really?” I chastised myself in a mutter.
“Did you say something?” Harry inquired. I shook my head with a polite smile. Suddenly I had become the girl who was awkward around guys she may or may not find attractive. That was so unlike me.
