Saving Addison White (A famous Harry Styles fanfiction)
Chapter Nineteen: Video Chats and Distractions
“And cut!” yelled the director. It was a wrap for the day making me the happiest person on the entire planet because it meant that I was free for the rest of the day – not that there was much left of it – but I first had to wait for Shay to finish shooting her scenes.
Since coming back from London we hadn’t really gotten the time to do proper catching up, just a few lunches here and there and we couldn’t talk much because we were with other people with us and I didn’t feel like sharing my Harry stories with the entire world
I spoke to Lucy until she had to go into her dressing room and me mine. Quickly, I got out of the outfit I was wearing to change into something more comfortable which were a pair of old washed-out denim shorts, an old vest I owned vest with the words ‘flower power’ printed on the front of it then threw my hair into a messy bun on the top of my head.
I had a lot of time on my hands and I was missing my boyfriend like crazy so I took it upon myself to organise for the two of us to Skype. Five minutes after making that decision I was sitting on the floor of my dressing room with my legs crossed and my laptop sitting on the top of my lap smiling sweetly at the tired looking boy that was on my computer screen.
“Hello beautiful,” he said in his sexy voice that I’d been missing the whole day and it was exactly what I needed after my crap day. “How are you?”
I smiled at him and my heart skipped a beat. “I thought you’d be sleeping… I was trying my luck, you look exhausted. We don’t have to do this now,” I said, not meaning a single word coming out of my mouth, I didn’t want to do it at any other moment. I wanted to have a long chat with him there and then, I wanted to hear about the concert and what the crazy Directioners got up to… I just wanted to hear him talk.
“Don’t be silly,” he yawned, running his fingers through his knotted looking hair. “How was your day?”
“Shooting was fine, I can’t complain,” I shrugged, trying to
forget the part where I forgot my line a million times because I kept thinking of him.
“I feel a ‘but’ coming…” he chuckled.
With the tour and me being on set every day, seeing each other was just more and more difficult. It had only been just three weeks since the last time we were together but it felt longer. Of course we communicated via text, we called each other every day, there was Skype and we tweeted each other if there was something funny or something that reminded the other of the other.
It wasn’t the same. I missed being held by him, lying next to him on the bed chatting ‘til the early hours of the morning, being woken by him in that annoying way he always did and having him with me every hour of every day. There wasn’t much we could do or say about that, our jobs were just being demanding.
I couldn’t tell him how I felt, not because he was going to lash out but because I knew that telling him would make him feel bad and want to get onto the next flight to Los Angeles. He was a sweetheart and I was just going to have to put a brave face on and act like nothing was bothering me.
Soon we were going to be happy and together, until then I was going to have to be patient.
“No, there’s no ‘but’…” I forced a smile on my face but I could see it in his eyes that he didn’t believe what I was telling him. “I watched the other day’s concert on YouTube the other night,” I smiled a more genuine smile. “You were really good and it just made me…”
“What aren’t you telling me?” he asked, trying to sound calm but I could see the panic in his eyes.
“Nothing,” I sighed, the last thing I wanted was to have a conversation about our relationship over Skype. “Besides, if I did tell you there’s nothing you can do about it. We both don’t have much control over the whole situation…”
“Addison, as soon as I get the chance to, I’ll get on the first flight out to Los Angeles,” he said, frustration obvious in his tone. “I know it’s really hard but just please bear with me…”
I didn’t say anything because no matter what he said, it was still frustrating and I hated myself for feeling that way. A lot of the times I was tempted to just quit doing the show so that I could fly over to him and just spend the rest of the year travelling with him and the boys but I knew that doing that would be letting a lot of people down. Pretty Little Liars had a fan base and they came first.
“Please Addison.”
“Yeah,” I smiled, a real smile. “I’m sorry, I’ve just… I guess I’ve been having a crappy week…” I went on to telling him about the week I had and in return he told me about his tour adventures and just as we were speaking Harry’s bedroom door swung open and two tired looking boys barged into the room.
“You two look like you’re in a splendid mood,” I teased in my best English accent. “Is everything okay? Or are Harry and I being too loud and disturbing your sleep?”
They jumped onto the bed next to Harry who was looking very annoyed. Our little conversation was over and we were going to have to accommodate the boys…
“We couldn’t sleep. Well Niall couldn’t, didn’t you hear him knocking Harry?” Louis explained. “We started watching cartoons, I thought it would get him sleepy but he didn’t so we were going back to his suite when we heard you talking…”
“In all honesty, we were coming to check if the poor lad hadn’t lost his mind,” Niall chuckled and nudged Harry who just rolled his eyes. “And well now we’re just going to hang out with you guys…”
“If you don’t mind,” Louis added quickly. “How’s it going over at the US of A? Any spoilers for the new season of Pretty Little Liars? Or is it all top secret? I love a good secret…” Lou rambled.
“I wish I could tell you but you’ll just have to wait and see,” I admitted with a giggle at the end, they looked shattered.
They started trying to persuade me to divulge some secrets, at least one so they had the upper hand and I refused. Since becoming friends with me, the boys had become obsessed with the show. Seasons 1 and 2 were going to get them through the first leg of the tour.
“So you’re really not going to tell us?” asked a defeated Niall and his eyes widened like he’d just seen a ghost.
“Oh,” I heard Dylan say from behind me. “I didn’t know you were busy, I should’ve knocked.”
I turned to him and smiled. “Nonsense, you know I don’t do that whole knocking thing. Is everything okay?”
“I was sent by Lucy,” he looked really awkward because he knew that Harry was my boyfriend and all. “She told me to tell you that she was ordering you to join her and me for coffee…” he shrugged his shoulders and I chuckled.
Dylan O Brien was going to play my love interest on the new season of Pretty Little Liars. I’d seen a lot of his work from Teen Wolf to The First Time – one of my ultimate favourite movies – and I was really impressed. Not only was he attracted but he was also super talented. Working with him was like heaven.
I’d told Harry about my new co-star, he’d done some research on who he was and well it was safe to say he felt threatened by him. Not that he had a reason to, Dylan was harmless and I didn’t feel for him like that. Our relationship was strictly platonic.
I turned to the computer screen and noticed Harry’s upset expression on his face which confused me. The tension was definitely there, I was just glad it was over the computer screen. Niall and Louis just looked awkward and wanted to leave.
“I have to go guys boys, Lucy calls,” I smiled. “We’ll talk later, have a good sleep, okay? We’ll talk tomorrow morning,” I blew them a kiss. “I love you Harry.”
“I love you too,” he responded but it wasn’t like the other times he’d said it. “Enjoy coffee…”
“We’ll see you soon Addie,” Niall got off the bed and walked to the door. “Let’s go Louis.”
Louis gave me the: you’ll-tell-me-later look before getting off the bed and joining Niall at the door. They both left the room, Harry and I said goodbye to each other and I left with Dylan. No one said that dating Harry was going to be a walk in the park, but in the end I knew the struggling was going to be worth it.
Notes
So this chapter was mainly to show how life is back in Los Angeles. Addison is back at work, Harry is touring and well the distance thing is going to cause a lot of problems in the next couple of chapters.
Also, Dylan is joining the Saving Addison White cast… YAY! He’s really attractive, has anyone seen The Maze Runner? It’s really good and he’s perfection!
Since we’re back in LA we’ll have the family drama back again, Joe too and we’ll add a fight or two along the way. Also, awkward encounters and some betrayal… I don’t think I can call it betrayal though lol.
Thanks for reading this. I won’t be updating for another week because I want to write out all the chapters from chapters 23 up to chapter 35 before posting them all so you’ll just have to be patient.
Thanks to all the support. I’ve reach the 2 500 mark! I’m ecstatic, enjoy your weekend.
