All I Ever Wanted

Happiness

(Leah’s POV)

Buzz buzz. My phone alarm went off, stirring me from a Harry dream, which wasn’t unusual here lately. I woke with my head inside the magazine, and drool all over the page of Harry and his new girl.

Well, there’s what I think of that.

I chuckled to myself, remembering how funny I actually was. I must’ve fallen asleep while trying to convince myself that Harry wasn’t really into the girl, but I couldn’t. He looked happy, besides the bags under his eyes. I rolled out of bed and headed for the shower. A smile was plastered on my face. For the first time in three weeks, I was excited.

I had a show today!

Harry was happy and I decided I was going to be happy too, with or without him.

I had a life to live and he was no longer a part of it, so no need for wasting time moping about it.

(Harry’s POV)

“I just don’t understand why you brought me to Europe with you if you still weren’t over her. It hurts. I thought you were actually into me.” Caroline pouted, and I felt like shit. It wasn’t her fault.

“I am into you, Car, just not as much as I am into her. I’ve enjoyed getting to know you and having you here, but inviting you on tour was a drunken mistake. I am so, so sorry. I hope you’ll forgive me.” I didn’t want her to hate me. She was truly an incredible girl, but the timing was horrible. After I’d ditched her to call Leah last night, Caroline had put it all together. She was flying back to London.

“I do forgive you, Harry. You’ll always be special to with me.” She turned to walk out of the hotel room. “She’s a stupid girl – so lucky that you love her like you do. If somehow you ever get over her, you know you can always call me.”

She blew me a kiss and walked out the door. I ran my fingers through my hair and let out a sigh. I picked my phone up off of the couch to check for a reply from Leah for the millionth time today. Nothing. I tapped in a few numbers and soon had Louis on the other end.

“Hey mate, what’s the matter?” He sounded rather chipper for it to be early morning.

“I just wanted to run something by you. I think I’m going to fly out to LA tonight. Leah has a show and it’s the only way I’ll be able to talk with her since she won’t return my calls. What do you think?”
We had the night off so it would all work out perfect. I expected to surprise her and explain that I couldn’t live without her, no matter how much she hurt me. And I was finally going to tell her I loved her. Then she’d say she loved me too, if I was lucky, and hopefully she’d be flying back to Europe with me to stay for the rest of that leg of the tour.

“Well Harry, you’ve just got to be sure she wants to see you. If she’s not returning your calls, maybe she’s moving on.” I heard him hesitate.

“Lou, it’s Leah we’re talking about. I love her. It’s going to work. We’re meant to be. I can feel it.” I beamed with new found confidence.

“Just don’t get your hopes too high, Haz. I’ll see you when you get back. Oh, tell her I said hi!”

We hung up, and I grabbed the duffle that I’d packed last night as I’d planned this trip. It was time to go make things right again.

-----------------

(Leah’s POV)

It was as if a new me had taken over. Ever since seeing Harry looking happy in that magazine, I was determined to rediscover my happiness, and today, I was happy. My whole management team had noticed. I was full of smiles and laughter.

“It’s good to have you back, Leah!” Spencer hugged me right before I took the stage. After I’d explained everything to him, he’d dropped the anger towards me, and found anger for Harry. He was so much like a second father.

I danced and sang my heart out. I signed things for the fans during songs, and I videoed the concert on some of their iPhones. I was singing, and reading some clever signs when I noticed one on the front row. It read: Leah, please forgive me?

I squinted in the lights, trying to see who could possibly be asking for my forgiveness. The lights went dim between songs and I caught a glimpse of those gorgeous eyes. My breath hitched in my throat. I went over to a security guard and asked them to bring the boy with the sign backstage. I finished the show and ran offstage. I scanned the backstage crowd, looking for my visitor. I spotted his muscular frame and blonde hair and made my way over to him.

“Ryan?! What the hell are you doing here?!” He wrapped his arms around me and kissed my cheek.

“Leah, I’ve missed you so much! I heard you were doing a show tonight and I had to come see you. You were amazing!” He smiled, causing his blue eyes to dance. He handed me a huge bouquet of roses.

“Thank you! How are you?” I flirted with my eyes. I’d gotten a few texts from him, but that was when I was with Harry, so I’d just ignored him. But since then, I’d forgotten all about him. He was as cute as I’d remembered and his personality was just as upbeat and fun as it was in the bar the night we’d met.

“I’m good! I've finally accomplished my dream of becoming a pro surfer! I’m just living here, surfing as much as possible. How are you? You’ve been on tour, right?”

“That’s awesome! I’m great! Yeah, I just came back. I’m here for a while, though. No more tours for me anytime soon!” I laughed, pushing the image of Harry and his new girl out of my mind.

“I’m so happy for you! I wish you would have told me about your career when we met! I think it’s so cool.” He gushed. “Hey, have you had dinner yet? Let me take you out! We need to catch up!” He pleaded.

“Um…” I looked around. My night was over. I had nothing to do but go back to my hotel and sit and think. And that wouldn’t do me any good.

“Sure! Why not? Let me just grab my things!” I motioned to the backstage lounge.

Ryan took my hand and followed me. At first, the feeling of his hand scared me because it wasn’t Harry’s. But within seconds the fear was replaced with excitement. Harry had found his happiness, and maybe now I’d found mine.

--------------------

(Harry’s POV)

I hopped out of the cab and slung my duffle over my shoulder. I couldn’t wait to see her face when she saw me. I walked around to the back of the arena and met a security guard who knew about mine and Leah's relationship. He looked surprised to see me, but nodded and gave me a pass.

He must’ve read the magazines or watched gossip television.

“She’s finishing up her last song, Mr. Styles. You can find her backstage.” I thanked him and hurried down the hallway to the backstage area.

“Harry, what are you doing here?!” It was Spencer. He stopped me, anger written all over his face.

“Hey, Spence! Don’t worry, I’m here to make things right.”

I pushed past him and made my way down the corridor. I could hear the audience going wild and the band was no longer playing so I must’ve gotten here just in time. I scanned the backstage area for her. It was packed with people, but it wasn’t long before I spotted her long blonde hair and her breathtaking smile. My heart warmed and I started towards her, but as soon as I took a step, I stopped abruptly. She was giggling with some brawny, tan guy. The look on her face was one I knew all too well – her flirty face. I’d picked on her for it before. I slid over to hide behind a stage set. I watched her giggle and smirk at him, just like she’d done with me. Then, he took her hand and they made their way towards the lounge. My heart had dropped to my stomach. My girl was spending the night with some guy who looked like a complete douchebag. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks, and I almost fell in the floor – there may never be any making it right with Leah, ever again. Maybe Louis was right. Maybe she had moved on.
