His missing shadow (Zayn Malik)
Little talks
'Be careful and don't do anything stupid.'- Zoey was standing in front of Leah with crossed hands.
'God, Zo! I'm not a child, you're leaving for two days, I can handle it!'
Zoey poked Leah and then hugged her. She was proud of her sister, but still worried because Leah would be alone in the house.
'Bye, I'll call you when we get there.'
Leah waved, watching her sister leaving. She was glad to be alone, because she needed it. She needed to think and sort her thoughts, but loneliness wasn't so good. Suddenly Leah realized she had no one here, not even a friend.
Leah's shift was almost over, there weren't many people at the bar, but it was just the beginning of the evening. The sun was setting slowly, she loved the sunset.
Four eyes watching her from a table in the corner, but Leah tried to ignore them. She tried not to think about him, his lips... touch and kiss. Zayn was with Alicia at that table, looking at Leah without a hesitation.
'You were right, she looks like Katie. I want to go and hug her, but she'll probably think that I'm crazy.'- Alicia's voice was shaking, she was so excited. It felt like finding her friend again.
'I told you, but Leah is so different.'- Zayn was playing with his box of cigarettes, but still looking at her.
'Go and talk to her, you need to apologize. Just tell her the truth, Zayn?'
'I can't, I'll just forget her. I shouldn't feel that way.'- He was still confused, but he knew he had feelings for her.
'Well, my shift is over. Good luck tonight, Sam!'- She tapped him on the shoulder, because he would take the evening shift. Leah smiled and walked towards the exit, Zayn and Alicia followed with eyes her every move... her every step. She didn't look at them, just couldn't meet his eyes because she didn't want to feel that way again.
Leah changed the direction and went to the beach, the sun was almost hidden. The sky was blue and the clouds pink. It was so beautiful, Leah enjoyed sitting there. The water touched her legs, making her twitch every time, because it was cold.
'Hey!'- A voice made her jump and turned back.
It was Alicia, she had followed Leah and slowly sat down beside her.
'Who are you?'- Leah knew who that girl was, but decided to act like she didn't. She felt an inexplicable jealousy and anger.
'I'm Alicia, you have to be Leah.'- Alicia was smiling and you could tell she was sincere.
'How do you know my name?'
'I'm a friend of Zayn and ...'
'Ha, he has friends? Be careful with this, because he'll lie and then leave you.'
'I'm his best friend, and you obviously don't know him, Leah.'
'I've seen enough.'
'Leah, he isn't a bad guy. Trust me!'
'You don't have to do that for him.'- Leah was angry, but the thought of Alicia being his best friend- made her calm.
'He doesn't know I'm here. I just wanted to talk to you because he said you were a great girl.'
'Really?'
Anger and all other negative emotions disappeared the moment. The warmth and thrill were here again... all those feelings.
'Yes. Just trust me, I'm here to help him... to help you.'
'I... thank you.'
Leah didn't know what to say, but she felt that Alicia was sincere and really wanted to help.
'I know it sounds strange, but a storm is coming... and if you want, you can come to my house, I'm alone tonight. Then you'll tell me everything, but I want the truth because he had no courage to tell me what's happening.'
'It isn't strange, Leah. I promise to tell you the truth, I'll come in one hour.'
'No problem, Alicia. My house is a small with big windows and a tree next to it. If you walk down the alley, you'll see it.'
'I'll be fine!'
Alicia had a plan and knew it was perfect. Her fast steps helped her to get quickly to Zayn's flat, where he was sleeping on the couch.
'Zayn, get up!'- She almost shouted and pushed him.
'Why, what's wrong?'
Zayn looked scared because he didn't know what was happening.
'You need to talk to Leah. She's home alone now.'
'How do you know? Don't tell me you...'
'Don't ask questions. She likes you, Zayn. She likes you too. Just go and tell her the truth.'
'Are you sure?'
Alicia nodded, and that was enough. Zayn knew that Leah didn't hate him. He felt such a relief.
