His missing shadow (Zayn Malik)
A mistake
'Zayn, wake up.'- He opened his eyes and stood fast.-' Careful, you'll get dizzy.'
'Oh God, my head...'
'Last night you drank a lot.'
Zayn stopped eyes on Leah, who looked very tired. All night she had to stay awake to take care of him.
'I ... I'm sorry.'
'No problem. Do you remember anything?'- Leah was frightened because she thought that Zayn felt her kiss.
'Nothing.'- Zayn lied, he remembered her words very well. 'Maybe I am, but I'm sure here... Here's hiding a good boy, who saved me twice, and needs to smile at the world.' He couldn't forget the words that made him smile. Her words were true and he knew it, but was afraid to take the risk. Afraid to put aside the past and move forward because... He was still living in the past, was still living with the thought of Katie and it was killing him slowly.
Sam Chester, the boss of the club, entered and looked around. It was a surprise for him that there was someone in the bar so early. He didn't know that Leah and Zayn had spent the night in the "Black Killers". When Sam saw them, he approached and greeted Zayn.
'Zayn, I heard you won the race three days ago. Congratulations!'- He shook his hand and patted him on the shoulder.
'Of course, I don't want to disappoint my sponsor.'- Fake smile appeared on his face.
'Leah, what are you doing here?'
What now? Leah looked at Zayn, seeking a reasonable explanation. She knew she wouldn't do it alone, she couldn't lie... not her boss.
'I ...' - She looked down, playing with a lock of his hair.
'I forgot my phone last night and asked her to open the club because I'm expecting an important call.'
The excuse was accepted well by Sam because he wasn't particularly interested, just asked out of curiosity. Zayn saw that Leah was so scared and put his hand on her back to comfort her a little. He felt her body tensed, but it relaxed soon. Zayn wanted to show her that she could trust him.
'Tonight, the club will be closed because there's a big party on the beach. Fire, music and it will be fun. You have to come.'
'Yes, of course, Sam. I have to go. Leah, do you want a lift home?'
Leah had to accept because she wanted to get out of the awkward situation.
'Thank you.'
When they were next to his car, she finally managed to say something. There was a mess in her head, but a simple "thank you" was enough. It was strange to be so close to him, but at the same time so far.
The ghost stopped chasing her, but Leah was worried because she looked like the mysterious girl...and that girl told her to take care of Zayn, but Leah didn't help him because of her words. She really wanted it.
'Zayn ...' - Her words could be barely heard, but Zayn turned and stopped his gaze on her.
Leah approached and hugged him. He wasn't expecting it, he hadn't thought that he would hold her in his arms. Slowly wrapped his arms around her waist, but after a few seconds she realized what she had done and pulled away.
'I'm sorry, I...'
'Don't worry. Come on, get in.'
Leah felt weird all the time... thinking of his lips and the kiss that he didn't remember. She wanted to kiss those lips again and again, but this time she wanted Zayn to respond with all his passion.
'Thanks for the ride.'- She smiled and opened the door, but Zayn took her hand.
'I thank you. It was very kind of you to take care of me all night.'
She shivered at the touch of his hand and then stepped out of the car, waving quickly. Zayn smiled like never before, he hadn't felt so happy and full of life.
Everyone was on the beach, singing songs by the fire. It was an unique experience for Leah, she had never seen so happy and united people, but her eyes were looking for a specific person. Yes, it was Zayn. She couldn't get him out of her mind, she didn't want to.
'Leah, hellooooo. I'm talking to you.'- Zoey was waving while Leah looked at her blankly.
'Sorry, I was thinking about something.'
'Sam is going outside town for two days to choose new furniture for the club. He asked me and Gavin to go with him.'
'Okay, but I want you to buy me something cute.'
'You're awful.'- Zoey hit Leah on the shoulder, and then held her tight.
She liked to be with her little sister again.
Leah sat on the sand with a beer and watched the waves. The water was dark and ominous, but at the same time beautiful.
Silent footsteps approached her.
'What are you doing here alone?'- Zayn sat down beside her and buried his feet in the sand.
'I decided to be alone.'
'Come, peopleeeee. Ten seconds!'- A boy shouted to the others and began to laugh.
'Ten seconds?'- Leah asked Zayn surprised, but he smiled.
All were counting the seconds and she looked frightened. Zayn suddenly stood up, picked Leah up and threw her over his shoulder, running to the water.
'Night swimming.'- Someone shouted loudly.
Leah couldn't realize what was happening. When her body hit the water, she began to tremble. It was so cold that her lips were turning blue.
'You are crazyyyyyyy!'- She told Zayn, who was right in front of her.
'Are you cold?'- His worried voice warmed up her little heart.
She just nodded, moving her arms and legs up and down, trying not to drown. Zayn went closer to her and wrapped his arms around her body.
'Better?'- He whispered in her ear, making her shiver.
Leah lifted her head up, looking at his lips. She was so close to them, only one centimeter and she would kiss him, but the fear stopped her. Zayn looked into her innocent eyes and smiled.
'I... I want to try something.'- He lifted her chin up and gently touched her lips with his. The kiss lasted forever, it was so genuine... filled with warmth and tenderness.
Suddenly, like electricity hit his body and he pulled away, realizing what he was doing. Zayn walked slowly toward the shore, leaving Leah alone in the water, but she tried to catch him.
'Zayn, wait! Zayn, wait for God's sake!'- She shouted, but nothing could stop him.
Suddenly he turned around, the drops from his wet hair were streaming down his face.
'That was a mistake and it won't happen again.'- His serious voice frightened her. That wasn't Zayn, he was another person.
'Why, I thought you liked it?'
'Cause you're eighteen and you're still a child.'
'Enough. I'm not a small child, Zayn.'
'Look, you're not my type.'
'Really?'- Leah couldn't believe. What was that all about? An experiment? A kiss meant nothing.
'Really. I like you, but as a friend. I'm just in such a period and that was another stupid thing. I did it unconsciously.'
Tears began to stream down her cheek, she couldn't believe he did that.
'I understand. I'm just a mistake, stay away from me then!'- She was hurt.
The night made a dream come true- Zayn kissed her, but also broke a young little heart. But after all I think the broken hearts were two.
'Oh God, my head...'
