His missing shadow (Zayn Malik)
Desire
'Come on, Leah! You've been here for three weeks, but haven't raced yet.'- Gavin begged Leah like a small child.
It's been three weeks, she was getting used to the situation. Everything seemed normal and she enjoyed her independent life.
Leah definitely liked illegal racing, but at the same time she was afraid. She looked at her sister, waiting for an approval, but Zoey just nodded because she had a complete trust in Gavin.
'C'mon, we start in a minute.'- A boy called out to all who would race.
Then he came, Zayn appeared. Leah's eyes met his and smiled. She hadn't seen him since that day... she brought him cupcakes. He was out of town because he had to go to one of those professional races.
'Don't race with him.'- Zayn whispered to Leah, and she jumped because she didn't know that he was near her.
'Why?'
'He isn't a good driver.'
'I'm old enough and I can decide, Zayn.'- She smiled and walked to the Gavin's car.
'Just be careful!'- He took her hand and pulled her toward him. Their bodies were touching, but Leah pulled away, although she liked it.
'I'll be fine, don't worry, mate.'
Zayn looked at her for the last time, entering the car. All were on the starting line ready to race.
Leah was worried, her whole body trembled with excitement. Zayn saw the fear in her eyes, he was worried for her, but didn't want to. Zayn didn't know what was happening to him, he needed to be next to Leah and protect her, but he couldn't admit it. He didn't want to feel weak again.
'Ready, steady, go!'- As soon as he heard the last word, Gavin hit the gas, but Zayn was first as usual.
'Go faster, go, Gavin!'- Leah yelled because she wanted to win the race, but it was almost impossible.
He tried to overtake Zayn, but in vain. Zayn had a tactic that was perfect.
'Now I'll show him, he sucks.'
Gavin increased the speed even more and tried to push Zayn out of the way, but Leah's scream stopped him.
'Are you crazy? Don't do it!'
'Relax, Leah.'
'If you don't slow down, I'll jump!'
'You are such a baby.'
She was shivering from fear, but when they crossed the finish line, her body relaxed. Gavin finished second after Zayn.
'Congratulations, Gavin. I'm proud of you!'- Zoey greeted and hugged him.
'If it wasn't your sister, I might be first.'- He looked at her and then smiled. Gavin wasn't as angry as Leah thought.
'I have to go to work. See you tomorrow!'- Leah had forgotten for a moment about that.
She walked down the alley, but known car slowed to catch up with her gait. She bent down to see the driver, and he smiled.
'Hello, Zayn.'
'Get in, baby.'
'The bar is fifty meters from here.'
He was visibly disappointed. What was he doing? Zayn didn't want to care that much or feel that way.
Drink after drink, Zayn was intoxicated. The thoughts of Katie came into his head again and that made him drink over and over again. He didn't have the need to sleep with Emily, he felt dirty after seeing how Leah's innocent eyes stared at him. He wasn't that kind of guy, he had feelings deeply hidden somewhere. Only one woman had the key, but she was gone.
'Zayn, I have to close the bar now.'- Leah walked slowly and carefully to him, he hadn't realized that he was the only one there.
'I'm goinggggggg homeeee theeeen.'- Zayn tried to stand but he couldn't control his body, he couldn't even make a step without falling.
'My God, what should I do? You can't go home like this.'
'Stay with me.'- He took her hand and looked into her innocent eyes.
'Zayn, you ...' - Leah had to go home, but then realized all those times in which he helped her. She owed him at least that.- 'Come, you'll sleep on one of the couches.'
She helped him to to get up, slowly moved him toward the couch, then Leah went for water and a towel.
'You're not a bad guy, Zayn. Why did you drink so much?'- She knelt beside him and gently patted his face with a wet towel.
'You don't know me, Leah.'
'I know your reputation, but you aren't... I don't believe in the "bad boy" legend.'
'You're naive.'
'Maybe I am, but I'm sure here... '- She touched his chest, but then moved away her hand. -'Here's hiding a good boy, who saved me twice, and needs to smile at the world.'
Leah was completely honest with him and wasn't afraid to say what she thought. Zayn smiled when he heard her words, and then closed his eyes. Alcohol had influenced a lot and to her relief- he fell asleep.
She watched his face, sitting on the couch because she had to look after him. Leah stopped on his lips.
'What does it feel like to kiss those lips? To feel their warmth?'- She whispered to herself and leaned toward him. Her face was so close to his that he could feel his breath.
She finally dared to touch his lips with hers, hoping he wouldn't feel anything. The kiss was warm and gentle, Leah put all her innocence and desire that she was hiding the whole time.
