I threw my head back against the toilet seat, in tears, as blood ran down both forearms. It's been two weeks since I've last eaten, and today I found out that one of my best friends, Alana, has committed suicide, the third one this year at this orphanage.

"Quinn! What the hell?" My almost sister, Rachel, screams at me, running into the bathroom and wrapping various materials around each forearm.

"Too...much...pain!" I sob to her, letting every emotion I tried to hold in fall out.

Mizuki, my other practical sister comes into the bathroom. "Seriously, Quinn? Didn't you learn from MY mistakes?" She asks on the terms of her being clean for a month.

I don't respond as my tears slowly begin to dry up from her attitude.

After I'm cleaned up and stitched up, the owner of the orphanage, Acacia, comes in, throw in her long, brown hair over her shoulder before sassily saying:

"Yo, scumbags, get your asses downstairs. We've got people here to adopt."

The three of us silently nod as we follow her out if the room, not giving two damns about what we look like as we walk out in front of the 5 boys that must be here to adopt, since I surely haven't seen them around before. They're all young, about 20-22, and have warm smiles on their faces as Mizuki, Rachel, and I join the other girls at our orphanage in a line so the boys can pick us out like Barbies on a toy store shelf.

Except, we're more like Barbie recalls.

"So, here they all are, choose away." Acacia snaps, picking her perfectly polished nails.

"Can we interview each one individualy?" One with brown hair, beard and eyes asks.

"I don't really give a shit what you do with them," Acacia snorts.

"Okay, then," The same guy says slowly as each boy begins taking a girl each for private interviews.
