Just Peachy

Four

Days turned into weeks and summer slowly started to fade away. Autumn rolled through England quickly and now it was December. I decided to help out the now pregnant with twins Johanna and babysit her youngest children, Daisy and Phoebe whenever I could.

Today I was going over while Johanna had a doctors appointment. Apparently they were going to see what the babies’ genders were.

I walked up to Phoebe and Daisy’s primary school about ten minutes early unfortunately, and it was extremely cold and started to rain. To my advantage, the school had little roofs so I could stay under there until the girls got out.

I took my phone out, trying to make the time pass faster as I went onto my social media apps. I checked the clock and found only three minutes had passed.
I sighed, going bak to my apps.

“Emily?” I looked up from my phone and saw Louis standing in the rain, a heavy jacket and beanie on. The dull, grey appearance of the sky made his blue eyes pop vividly.

I smiled. “Hello, Louis. It's nice to see you.”

“Yeah, you too. Uh, what're you doing here?”

“I’m babysitting Phoebe and Daisy while your mom has an appointment. Praise her, by the way. Another two children to handle.” I grinned at him. “Anyways, why are you here? Shouldn't you be recording? Your mother said you wouldn't be home for another month.”

“I came to surprise the girls,” Louis said cautiously. I nodded, jumping when I heard the ring of the bell. Louis laughed at me while I blushed, patting my back and walking to the front, where more parents were.

“Louis!” I heard a familiar girl’s voice cry out. Daisy let go of her sister’s hand and ran straight for Louis, while Phoebe took her time and came to me first. I looked down at her.

“Hi,” she said, smiling. I noticed the gap between her teeth almost immediately. “I lost the big tooth.” I smiled.

She turned to Louis, who was holding Daisy in one of his arms, leaning more towards his right hip. “Look! I lost a tooth!”

I smiled as Louis interacted with his little sisters. They were honestly a sight for sore eyes. He was adorable with them.

“Do you mind if I drive them home? I brought my car, and I assume you brought yours also.”

“Go ahead,” I said with a smile. “I'll meet you there.”
