Eloise's POV

I didn't know what I was about to say. I needed to fix this. I really didn't want to lose Joe because I really did love him like a family member. Not even one like my dad, one like my mum.
"Joe, I'm so sorry. I would have never been with Harry if it would upset you this much. I thought you were okay wit-" I trailed off.
"I know." he said, although barely any sound escaped his mouth.
"Do you want me to stop seeing him?" I offered. I really hoped he'd say no but I could not bare to see Joe like that for a moment longer. He was worth losing Harry over, besides, we'd literally started being a couple like an hour ago; it wasn't particularly serious. Joe shook his head vigorously and I have to be honest I was a little relieved.
"Of course not."
"Then what do you want me to do, Joseph?" I bent down to join him on the ground. "I feel like I'm talking to Jacob again." Joe rubbed his face.
"I'm sorry."
"You gotta tell me what to do."
"I don't know!" he snapped, beginning to get frustrated.
"Joe," I wrapped my arm around his shoulders. "I hate seeing you like this but I'm not the right girl for you."
"I know," he sighed. "I just always thought you would be." My heart stopped beating. As soon as those words were released into the room I felt cold. I felt heartless and selfish.

Joe's POV

"I-I-" Eloise looked torn.
"It's okay. I'm okay." And this time I was.

It doesn't matter how much you want someone to love you, and how much you wish and pray that they would, because you can't change the way they feel. You have to be able to pull yourself together enough to accept that they aren't right for you. They are not your princess; and it's okay. I mean, it isn't at first. But you know it will be.

"Are you sure?" I heard a crack in her voice.
"I mean, not yet. But it will be."
"Pinky swear?" she asked me desperately.
"Pinky swear," I repeated as I linked our little fingers. She let out a soft laugh as a tear ran down her cheek. I wiped the tear away and looked down at our hands. "Oh god, Ellie. I'm so, so sorry. I didn't mean to do this to you. I'm such a shitty person."
"No, don't be. It's okay." she separated our little fingers but interlocked our hands. I just smiled at her. She was so understanding and sweet, I couldn't believe that she managed to put up with me every day.
"So, what we gonna do today?" I tried to lighten the mood after my little breakdown, or strop if that's what you want to call it.
"What do you want to do?"
"Spa?"
"You're such a girl!" she teased.
"What can I say? I like being pampered." she broke into a fit of giggles and that made me smile, because when she was happy, I was perfect.
