I slowly open the letter in despair, lacking self confidence. My older brother standing extremely close to me waiting for the news to be revealed. "Would you hurry already!" My brother, Jared, hasted me. I unfold the neatly folded paper and read the one sentence that matters most.
'On behalf of the university of London, we are happy to offer you admission and welcome you to this years class of 2013.' I read in my head precisely before Jared starts jumping and screaming. I do need to say so myself, I'm shocked i got in, even though i worked incredibly hard for it. "Keelyn you're in! You're in!" Jared cheers wrapping me in a tight hug halting my breathing. "I know Jared i read it!" I say suddenly feeling bad for my snappy remark. I continue, "But you're right; i got in! Im so excited!" I wrap my arms around him, embracing his brotherly love.
"Im so proud of you, Keelyn. Mom and dad would have been too." He expresses kissing my forehead.
Mom and dad.
I look down at my wrist staring at my scar covered with a small tattoo. I always felt pain and sadness when i saw it because of its powerful meaning.
"I hope so." I say causing an awkward silence until i break it. "Im going to go get ready and start packing. After all, i do move in 3 days and haven't even started gathering my things!" I smile and try to make it seem like I'm not afraid. Like i didn't look at the scar. Its just so hard considering all the tragic outcomes of it.

"I found you're grey sweater keelyn" Jared says entering my room with the clothing in his hand. "Oh thanks!" I take the sweater and place it in the final box.
"Wow, you packed fast. Would you like me to take you up there to get your dorm all ready?" Jared asks me. I think about it first but finally decide.
"Sounds good, ill just grab my coat. "
I walk to my closet and put on my jacket. In the midst i see a picture of my parents, Jared and i tenderly placed in a frame. "I almost forgot this," i mumble to myself, continuing to admire my precious family. Or what was my precious family.
"Keelyn, are you coming? I got the car all packed." Jared yells from the downstairs, taking me out of the trans i was just in.
"Um, yes coming. "

University of London is so big! I think ill be getting lost a lot while I'm here. "Room 116, 117,118," i mutter searching for my dorm. "Ah here it is! Room 125" we dropped the boxes outside the door while i fidget the lock with the key that was mailed with the letter.
"Home sweet home!" Jared states attempting to make this as comfortable as possible for me. Things are already set up in half of the room, which led med me to the conclusion my roommate was already here. I was informed her name was Cassidy and i have yet to meet her. I just hope she won't be too overwhelmed with my direction infection.
"What do you say we put away the clothes first, yeah?" Jared asks. I nod and unpack the folded clothes cluttering the floor.

"You did a great job keey! It looks great! But im quite hungry you up for a burger?"
"Yes please!" I say rushing out the door for food.
We drive to in and out burger and both get a burger with fries and a chocolate shake. The meal they gave us was immense though it didn't take me long to scarf it down. I finish the last sips of the shake. The chocolate making my mouth water, as its cold taste chilled my tongue, making my mouth engulfed.
"Are you gonna eat that last fry?" Jared hesitantly asks, being aware of my lack of sharing when it came to food.
"I guess im feeling generous today.."
Jared lets out a 'Yessss' and eats the final fry.
Our waitress is nearly to our table to give us our bill, when some smirky teens catch up to her. She had a tray of drinks for a table near us.
"Look its dinner girl! Guess you can't have a life even in the summer." One of the snotty teens tells her causing a large seen. She continues, "by the way, when you mopped i think you missed a spot, right there." She puts emphasis on the word there and slaps the tray of drinks causing them to splatter and break on the tile floor. The teens stalk off like its nobody's business leaving the waitress speachless. "Jared ill be right back," i say walking towards the girl.
"Are you okay?" I ask.
"Im fine. "
"My names keelyn"
"Im Cassidy"
The name rings a bell and i finally remember why.
"Did you just enroll at university of London?" I ask wiping the liquid off the ground.
"Yes, now that i think, could you possibly be my new roommate?"
"I think i must be!"
The mess finally got cleaned up and we walk back towards my table.
"We'll heres the money for the food, and im glad i got to meet you before hand. See you monday then?" I say to Cassidy leaving a smile on her face. It felt right, especially since i just had to see her so sad and humiliated.
"Definitely see you then!"
