The Good Girl and the Bad Boy

The Good Girl

ALLY'S POV
“Ally! Hurry up, or we’ll be late!” my best friend, Perrie, called.

“Relax, Perrie, we’re fine!” I yelled back. “There’s still half an hour before we have to be there!”

It was quiet for a few moments. “Come on, Ally, you don’t want to be late on your first day at work!”

I sighed. “Fine, I’m coming!” I hurried downstairs, met by Perrie’s stressed appearance. “You look like crap”, I told her with a grin.

She rolled her eyes. “Shut up”, she said. “It’s your fault.”

“Yeah? So you didn’t stay up all night, freaking out?”

“It’s still your fault”, she muttered. “You’re the one who fixed this date. If you hadn’t done it, I wouldn’t look like crap.”

“Well, then I’m happy to be at fault for your crappy appearance”, I said. “And you know you like Zayn, you just couldn’t ask him out, so I did it for you. You should thank me.”

“Yeah, not gonna happen”, she muttered.

She dropped me off at work and left. It was a pretty still day, barely anyone came in, which suited me perfectly. That way, I could check my email – my publisher’s mailed me all the time about the release of my first book – read, blog, or just write a bit in my journal.

My first costumer was a middle-aged man with his little daughter. Just when I was making his coffee, the bell sounded again, and I looked up from my work to check. It was my friends, Danielle and Eleanor.

I smiled at them. “Hey guys!” I said, finished the coffee and handed it to the man, who paid and left.

“Ally!” said Danielle. “Where’s Perrie?”

“On the date with Zayn, remember?” I said.

“Right, how’s it going?”

“Pretty boring. It’s a still day”, I said.

“We’re going out tonight, you coming? Perrie’s coming, and I think she’s bringing Zayn. Maybe we could get him to bring his friends!” Eleanor said.

“Oh, I don’t know …” I said.

“Please?” said Danielle. “You’re always so busy with your book coming up, we miss hanging out with you!”

I sighed. “Fine, but only because of that sad puppy face. Unfair! You know I can’t say no when you do that, Dani.”

Dani clapped her hands. “Great! We’ll pick you up at eight!” And with that, they left, not giving me the chance to change my mind.

I sighed. Once again, I’d let myself fall for Dani’s sad puppy face. It was unfair – she made the best sad puppy faces.

The bell sounded again, and this time, it was some punk. He was tall, with curly hair and piercing green eyes. He was dressed all black, had a lot of tattoos and piercings. With him was a blonde guy …

“Niall!” I exclaimed.

Niall looked up, and his face broke into a smile. “Ally. Long time no see”, he said.

I smiled back. “Yeah, I’ve been busy with the book and everything”, I said.

“But it’s not that much now, is it?” he asked hopefully.

I laughed. “It’s only a week to go, it’s more than ever now.”

“So you’re not coming tonight?”

I sighed. “I am. Dani didn’t give me much of a choice.”

Niall laughed. “Great! Ok, I want to order the supreme meal with extra fries.”

The other guy ordered, and I started. It was so like Niall to order extra fries, or extra anything. He seemed to always be hungry. I wondered how he could eat as much as he did and still be that fit.

“Here you go”, I said.

“Thank you!” Niall said he looked at the other guy. “Right, I forgot to introduce you. Ally, this is Harry. Harry, Ally.”

I smiled politely, but it was forced. “Nice meeting you”, I said.
Harry just stared at me, and I sighed inwardly. So obvious. “Well, enjoy your meal, and I’ll see you later, Niall.”

Later that day, I dressed in low jeans and a tight shirt that made me really uncomfortable, but I was just going to hang out with my friends, and I couldn’t dress like I usually did when we were going to a club. I styled my unruly hair and put some make-up on, and waited for my friends to pick me up.
When the doorbell finally rang, I was on the verge of changing the top, but I didn’t have any other choice but to go downstairs in the same top.

Zayn and Perrie were waiting outside for me to open. When they saw me, they both stared at me like I had grown two heads.

“Wow”, said Perrie.

“Who are you?” said Zayn.

I rolled my eyes. “I don’t look that different.”

Perrie grinned. “Yes, you do”, she said. “Let’s go before you change your mind about this.”

When we turned to go to Perrie’s car, I noticed Zayn taking her hand, and she blushed happily. I knew I did the right thing fixing a date for the two of them.

“So, how did the date go?” I asked from my place in the backseat. I was happy for them.

I saw Perrie blush. “Great”, she said, and then she looked at Zayn and blushed more deeply. I knew she was lying when she said she didn’t have feelings for him. I knew it!

“Great”, said Zayn, and I knew they were smiling happily at each other.

I mocked horror. “Oh for God’s sake! Eyes on the road! And get a hotel!”

But they both knew I was just joking.

When we arrived at the club, everyone else was already there, waiting for us.

When Danielle and Eleanor saw me, they both stared at me for several moments. “Who is that?” Dani whispered to El, who shook her head and continued staring at me.

“I have no idea”, she whispered back.

“Who are you and what have you done to our friend?” Dani asked me.

I laughed at them. “Shut up, it’s not like I had a choice.”

Niall came over and gave me a tight hug. “I wanted to do that before, but you were working”, he said. “You look great, by the way.”

I smiled. “You too, Niall”, I said and pulled away. We couldn’t stand in the middle of the dance floor hugging. Well, it felt weird to me, anyway.

“The others are waiting for you at the bar”, said Niall. “Come on, let’s get you a drink.”

I rolled my eyes. “You know I don’t drink, Niall”, I said.

“Hey, Ally”, said Liam and smiled at me. “We’ve missed having you around.”

“I’ve missed being around, Liam”, I said and smiled back.

Louis jumped up from his bar stool and threw his arms around my neck. The force in his hug almost had me falling on my butt.

“Jesus, Louis, you could think we haven’t seen each other in years”, I laughed, but hugged him back.

“We haven’t”, Louis said.

“Yes, we met last month”, I said. “It’s not that long ago.”

Louis finally released his grip on me, and I saw his huge grin. “A month is a very long time”, he muttered and led me to the bar. “Bartender! Get this young lady a—“

“Coke!” I said, interrupting Louis.

I heard a snort from behind, and turned around. “See, I knew she’d be drinking a coke”, Harry said.

Notes

Hey everyone! This is my first story, so please comment your thoughts!
Oh, and just so you know, Harry is the only "bad boy" of the guys in this story. And One Direction doesn't exist, they're just friends, not a band.
Okay, that was all for today, and I'll update soon!
