Chapter 17
Harry's POV
I woke up the next morning in my room. I quickly got up and showered. Once I was ready I drove as fast as I could to the hospital. I went up to Shay's room to find her still asleep. Then her doctor came in and informed me she could leave at anytime. I sat down next to Shay and shook her awake. "Baby come on let's go home." I whispered in her ear. Her eyes slowly opened and met mine. A grin formed on her face as she sat up. "Can I go home?" She asked me. "Yes baby you can go get dressed and we'll go home." She nodded and got dressed.
While we were driving home Shay was having trouble staying awake. "Baby just go to sleep ill carry you in." I said to her and with that she fell asleep. When we got to my flat I parked my car and carried her inside. I laid her down in my bed and tucked her in. "Harry please stay with me." She begged as I started to leave the room. I smiled at her and laid down with her. "I can't sleep." She sighed still not opening her eyes. "Well then we can talk." I said kissing her head. She smiled and we talked for a half an hour until we heard a noise. "Harry what was that?" She asked opening her eyes and clinging to me. "I don't know but be quite I don't want anyone knowing you're here." I said to her getting out of bed.
I walked out of the room and peered over the stairwell railing. I saw Edward. He was looking around my flat. I saw in his hand a gun. I quickly went back to my room to see a terrified Shay. I went to my dresser and pulled out my gun from there and turned back to see Shay looking even more scared. "Harry what the hell is that?!" She whisper yelled. "Baby calm down okay I need you to call the police okay?" "Harry what are you doing with a gun?" She asked scared. "Protecting you." I said and kissed her deeply. "Now call the police but be quite." I said and left the room.
Shay's POV
I did as Harry asked me to do and called the police. I told the lady that someone had broke in and she asked me to stay on the phone with her. "Where is your boyfriend?" She asked me. "He's somewhere downstairs I think." "Did he have a weapon?" She asked me. "Yes he had his gun." Before she could ask another question a gun fired. "What was that?" She asked sounding worried. "It was a gun." I said scared. "Do you know who shot it?" "No I don't." I said on the verge of tears. "Okay stay where you are the police will be there soon." She said sounding calm again. I then heard footsteps coming up the stairs. My breathing stopped. The door was cracked open slightly and I saw Edward walk past. My heart began to beat faster. I walked over to Harry's dresser and pulled open the drawers. I found another gun that was loaded and grabbed it.
Then Edward walked in the room. "Hello princess I've been looking for you." He said smirking. He pointed the gun at me and I was quick to pull my trigger first. It hit him and he fell to the ground. "Miss what was that?" The lady on the phone asked. "The guy who broke in came in my room and pointed a gun at me so I shot him." I said running downstairs. "Do you know where you hit him?" The lady asked. "No but that means he shot my boyfriend." I said running around to find Harry. Then there was a banging on the door. I went and saw the police and ambulance. I hung the phone up and opened the door. "Who broke in?" The man asked me. "He's upstairs I shot him." I said scared. The man nodded and went up stairs.
I was still looking for Harry. "Harry baby if you can hear me say something." I yelled. "Baby in kitchen." I heard him say as loud as he could. I ran to the kitchen to see him on the floor in a pool of blood. I started to cry and kneeled down next to him. "Baby the police and ambulance are here okay? You're gunna be okay." I said looking at his side where the bullet hit him. "I love you." He said trying to not cough. "I love you too." I said pressing my lips to his. Soon the ambulances had both men and where off to the hospital. The police stayed with me until the other 4 boys arrived.
Me and the boys all drive to the hospital together. We rushed inside and asked about Harry. We were told to wait and that the doctor would tell us when we could see him. We all sat down. I was between Louis and Niall. Liam was next to Louis and Zayn was next to Niall. "You guys I'm scared." I said leaning on Louis. "We all are." He said wrapping an arm around me trying not to cry. "Can I just have one normal day?" I asked out loud. Niall rubbed my back soothingly and soon I heard all the boys start to sniffle.
After an hour or two a doctor came out. "Are you all here for Harry?" He asked looking at us. We all nodded. He walked over to us and looked at a clipboard, "Who is Louis and Shay?" He asked us. Lou and I stood up. "Come with me." The doctor said and we followed him. He took us outside of Harry's room and then stopped. "We aren't quite sure if he will make it he has a good chance of making it but we aren't sure." The doctor said sadly. "Thank you doctor." Louis said before we were allowed in.
Harry was awake when we were allowed in. I went and sat next to Harry and held his hand. "How are you feeling?" I asked him worried. "Kinda sore." He said looking at me. "I'm so sorry this happened." I said starting to cry. "Baby don't cry please." He said lifting my chin and wiping away tears. "But its my fault." I said looking up. "No it isn't and don't you ever say that again." Harry scolded me. I nodded, "Good now come lay with me?" He asked. I got into the bed with him and laid my head on his chest.
The rest of the boys were allowed in and for awhile we all talked. Then the doctor came back, "It's the end of visiting hours anyone who isn't family is not allowed to be here." He informed us. "But Shay's my girlfriend can she stay?" Harry begged. "Sadly no." The doctor said and shooed us out of the room. Once we were out I turned to the boys. "I'm scared to be alone." I said almost in tears. "That's why you're coming home with one of us." Liam said. I looked at the boys and they all smiled. "Who do you want to go with?" Niall asked. "Can I go with you tonight Niall?" I asked him. He nodded, "We'll switch her off every night?" Louis suggested and the boys agreed.
We all got into our cars and Niall and I headed to his flat. "I'm surprised you picked me for tonight." He said focused on the road. "Well you make me laugh and I feel better when I'm with you." I said looking at him. He looked over at me and smiled quickly and looked back to the road. The rest of the drive was a comfortable silence. When we got to his flat I started to look around. " Your flat is cleaner than normal. Why is that?" I asked him. "I was actually gunna have a girl over tonight, but when you called me about Haz I cancelled." He said somewhat sadly. "Oh I'm sorry Niall." I said hugging him. "It's fine Haz's my brother I had to be there." He said hugging me back.
"Now let's get you some pjs." He said leading me to his room. He hand me some of his sweats and a shirt of his. "Thanks." I said and went to the bathroom to change. When I walked out Niall was sitting on his bed. "So this is what Harry gets to see every night." Niall said jokingly. I laughed lightly at his joke and kissed his cheek. "Do you want to sleep in the guest room or with me?" He asked getting into bed. "Do you mind if I sleep with you? I really don't want to be alone." I said like a scared little kid. "Of course darling." He said pulling the duvet down. I climbed into bed with him and curled up against him. "I haven't had someone sleep with me like this in a long time." He said wrapping his arms around me. "Good night." He said kissing the top of my head. "Good night." I whispered back. Soon I heard his soft snores. I then let sleep take over.
I woke up in the middle of the night screaming and crying. "Shay love calm down what's wrong?" Niall asked me worried. "Just a bad dream." I said calming down some. He wrapped me up in his arms and hushed me, "It'll be okay Shay. Me and the boys will protect you. I'm here with you and I won't let anything get to you." I started to relax more into him. Then I got weird feelings for Niall. Feelings I haven't ever gotten before. "Go to sleep now love." He said pulling me from my thoughts. I put my head on his chest and fell back asleep dreaming dreams of me and Niall.

Shay's POV
