True Colors
Under Pressure Pt. 2
Kara's POV
Once again, I found myself outside of the Alpha House. My first memories of this place were not the fondest, but I figured that now would be a much better experience. There was already a line of people waiting to get in. I couldn't help but remember when I was in their place. Now I was close by Luke's side. Calum and Michael flanked our sides, while Ashton followed close behind.
We were immediately spotted as we approached the entrance. I could see girls in line, scoffing and giving me the absolute dirtiest looks. I'm pretty sure they would have clawed my eyes out if they were allowed. It kind of intimidated me to be honest, I knew how vicious girls- including myself under the right conditions- could get.
Luke noticed my confidence starting to dwindle.
"Don't pay them any mind," he mumbled in my ear, giving my hand a small squeeze.
I nodded, feeling comforted by his words.
"Man there are a lot of people here already," Calum observed, "it's gonna be crazy,"
"Well of course there are," Michael snorted, "ha- I mean it's a Friday night,"
My nose scrunched up a tiny bit in confusion. What had he meant to say? Why did he stop himself? It was clear that what he actually said wasn't what he intended. I looked up to see Luke giving him a warning look. Michael only gave him a slight nod and looked away. I decided to leave it alone. I'd probably find out soon enough.
We got to the way front of the line, and just as before, the security guard pushed back those about to enter so that we could get in. I couldn't help but feel déjà vu when we got inside. This time, instead of going straight, Luke lead me down a side hallway. The boys were still with us.
"In here," Luke told me.
I nodded and stepped into a room that was much bigger than the cramped hallway. There was a bar built into the side of the wall, and a table worn multiple stools around it. Over near the corner was a smaller room that I presumed to be a bathroom.
The boys stepped inside too, closing the door behind themselves.
"We have some time, so don't rush," Ashton told Luke.
He nodded and sat down on one of the stools, pulling me up with him. I sat on his lap contently. He wrapped his arms around my waist, playing with the hem of my shirt. I watched as the other boys went to the bar, freely pouring themselves stuff.
"You want anything kid?" Ash asked
I shook my head, "no thanks,"
"Oh c'mon, live a little," Calum prodded.
"I'm fine," I shrugged.
"You're no fun," Michael whined.
"She doesn't have to drink if she doesn't want to," Luke told them sternly.
They all just shrugged and continued their little party. The door opened again and some more guys walked in.
"Sully!" Ash grinned, "nice to see ya!"
"Someone's already a little tipsy." Sully answered.
He was pretty tall, but still a tad shorter than Ashton. He had dark brown hair and big hands and hairy arms.
I looked up at him, seeing him watching me curiously.
"Well who's this?" He asked with a small smile.
"This is Kara," Luke squeezed my waist, "my girlfriend,"
I was slightly alarmed by his label for me. Girlfriend? I mean, I kinda figured we were more than friends of course. I just didn't expect him to do that. He honestly didn't seem like a relationship sort of guy, which I probably should have considered a lot earlier than now. Nonetheless, I liked the sound of it. It made my tummy explode with ticklish butterflies.
The Sully man smiled at this. He came closer and stuck his hand out for me to shake. I did so, somewhat unsure.
"Nice to meet you miss," he greeted, "my names Frankie Sullivan, but you can call me Sully,"
I nodded my head, "hi,"
Luke gave a small smile at my shy response.
"I didn't think it could be done," he chuckled, shaking his head a tad, "Luke's been tamed."
I snickered a tad bit. I'm pretty sure Luke was far from tame. He was still crazy.
"He's a wild one," sully pointed to Luke playfully, "but don't let him push ya around. We need someone to keep him in line,"
Luke laughed, "I'm not that bad,"
"You're pretty wild," sully shrugged.
Luke rolled his eyes playfully.
The guys were all talking excitedly. I just stayed quiet and watched. I didn't really have much to say at the moment. To be honest I was somewhat tired still. Plus, I was pretty content at the moment, Luke's body heat was keeping me perfectly warm.
The door opened again. I expected it to be another friend of Luke's, but instead it was quite the opposite. Harry. My heart stopped for a solid couple of seconds at the mere sight of him. His eyes scanned the room, a smug smirk appearing when he saw me.
My hands gripped Luke's who's were still around my waist. He felt me shifting uncomfortably and looked over.
"What the fuck are you doing here styles?" Luke spat angrily.
"I just came to see how my lovely little flower Kara was doing," Harry smiled, "hi there love,"
I glared at him, my icy eyes shooting sharp daggers into him.
"You have a lot of nerve," Calum said slightly slurred, "I suggest you leave before we whoop your ass before you go out there and lose,"
I tensed at his words. Lose? So that meant that Luke's opponent for the night would be Harry. I looked up at Luke questioningly. He refused to meet my eyes for the moment.
"Oh I'm not very concerned," Harry shrugged, "and as for the fight, I wouldn't be too confident Luke. I might surprise you, especially with what's at stake,"
I looked back over at Harry, "what is it?"
He smirked. Luke glared at him, trying to scare him into silence, but Harry wouldn't be swayed.
"Why you of course." He smiled sickeningly, "winner gets the girl, right. Luke? At least that's what you told me,"
My eyes widened in shock. I could feel Luke tensing up underneath me. I immeidately shrugged out of his grip, turning and glaring at him.
"You bet me?" I growled.
"Kara it's not as bad as it sounds," he defended.
"No Luke." I shook my head, "you fucking bet me! To Harry of all people! You know what he's done to me and you practically handed me to him!"
"I wasn't going to lose," he shook his head, "you think that Harry even stands a chance? He's never fought a single day in his life. I wanted to finally end this so we could move on!"
"It was ended," I corrected, "you didn't have to intervene any further. Everything was just fine,"
He just stared at me for a moment. Regret was evident in his face. I turned on my heel and left. I heard him calling after me, but I ignored him.
"No Luke, you can't leave," I heard ash say, "you have a fight in a half hour, and if you ditch then he automatically wins!"
That was the last thing I heard before I left the building and started my walk home.
