Xenophobia
THREE
Hatred is a strong feeling. But what would the world be without hatred? It would be more enjoyable, sincere, and maybe, just maybe everyone would be happy. But this is not a movie. No, it cold harsh reality. This isn't heaven, but it isn't hell either. Us humans are simply surviving in this fucked up world that was forced upon us.
So, I think it's safe to safe Harry hated his father. Well, his ways rather. Completely and utterly despised it. Harry hated the way Mark would control every aspect of his life. From the car he drove to the career path he would go in to. But what he hated most, what Mark Styles does that makes his son's heart turn black and drip with pure hatred is discriminate against the one he loved the most - Khai.
Harry could deal with Mark constantly bickering about the clothes his son would wear, depriving him of his dream to become a photographer or even selling his Range Rover and getting him a blue BMW. But what Pushed Harry's button was when Mark would make a snarky comment about her skin color, or any black person in general. We were all people, regardless of our skin color or religion. Red, yellow, black or white we were all made by one superior. We are a family.
Mark never approved of his relationship with Khai and it was the same with Melissa, Khai's mother. Melissa herself believed Harry was just like Mark.
"The apple doesn't fall far from the tree," is what she would say to her daughter.
So when Mark leaves for the weekend and Violet, Khai's best friend, covers for her, the couple takes it to their full advantage.
Currently, Harry is opening the front door to his upper class house for Khai. Big smiles plastered on their faces with excitement for what he weekend has to offer.
"Are you ready for this?"
Khai presses her lips firmly against Harry's before pulling back. "Ready."
You should write another!!! I'd read it for sure.
