Xenophobia

TWENTY ONE

The dance was over now.

Khai had a great time, despite the absence of her boyfriend. She was surrounded by positive people the entire night that drifted her mind from the fact that Harry has been acting different lately.

But the dance was over now.

She he was sat in the passenger seat of Blue's car. The Weekend's voice played softly as the conversation among Violet, Chad, Rico and Blue sparked up. But she didn't participate in the ongoing chat. No, Khai was thinking about the change in Harry.

Because the the dance was over now and nobody was there to distract her mind.

She thought of how dull his green eyes looked. She thought of the bags that formed it's way under them. She thought about that damn unhealed gash on his knuckles. She thought about his slouched posture. The slur in his words recently.

Her eyes began to sting as she thought about Mark. She couldn't help but think that Mark has gotten in Harry's head. Made him believe that she was nothing but a slave. That she belonged on a plantation, or that she was an abomination. She hissed as she pinched her dark skin, the sound going unnoticed by the people around her.

I can't change, she thought.

She was right. She couldn't change. No matter how much she wanted her skin color to be lighter or her eyes to be blue, she couldn't change. She couldn't fucking change and that saddened her.

She wasn't enough for Harry.

She would never be enough for Harry because she couldn't change.

She screwed her eyes shut as the negative thoughts clouded her mind because the dance was over now and nobody was there to distract her.

Never enough...

Never enough...

Never fucking enough.

At at the end of the long drive to the lake, Khai came to the conclusion that Harry deserved better. He deserved so much better. He deserved the world and more and she simply could not give that to him.

Hell, she couldn't even get his parents' approval because she just couldn't fucking change.

The sickening stench of all sorts of alcohol filled Khai's nostrils as bottles and bottles of booze were being shared among the group of people.

She couldn't change.

He deserved better.

So much better.

"Pass me the vodka."

And so she drank the fact that she couldn't change away.

Phew! Okay, that made me feel so better!

I have a question for the Q&A. Would of Harry and Khia ever ended up married, would had maybe kids in the future?

@Anobrxin
You're very welcome! And Wattpad is a great community. I also, myself, write on there. I say go for it when you're ready. :)

@One Direction 1O1
Thank you for your love and kind words. I'm so happy you enjoyed this story despite the very abrupt ending. I do intend on writing again. Maybe on wattpad perhaps to gain a wider audience, maybe it would be here once again. I'm not sure, but I will definitely let you know. All the love to you xx
