A Typical Love Story

Harry's POV





Finally I was back; my mates and I just got home from our graduation vacation which started about two weeks before.


I let the air of New York fill my nostrils as I looked at my home.


With a sigh of relief to be back, I walked through the door of my mum's house.

As soon as I closed the door behind me, my sister Gemma pulled me in for a massive hug and started laughing.


"What are you laughing at?" I questioned her with my left eyebrow cocked up.

"I know you just got back home from two weeks of drinking and shagging random girls," she winked at me, causing me to chuckle.


"Hi Gem" I gave her a scrawny smile and winked at her.


"Hello Harry, did you enjoy camping?" she asked while giving me a stupid grin.


God, I've missed her.

Breaking the news to her and my mum wasn't going to be easy.


"Mum has been worried sick because you never told her about your camping trip," Gemma informed me whilst shaking her head.


I knew I should have told my mum and Gemma where I actually went, but my mum would never even have allowed me to go to a simple camping trip.


Obviously my mum was in the next room listening.

I gulped before calling for my mother.

"Mum, we need to talk," I was never so scared to tell my mom something in my life.


But the thoughts I had been thinking about while I was gone, turned into a dream. And I wanted to follow that dream.

"Hi Harry, did you enjoy camping?" My mum came into the room. She looked more serious than usual as she hugged me.


I briefly closed my eyes, taking a deep breath.


"Mum I wasn't camping.." I scratched the back of my head nervously. "I went to London for two weeks to go apartment hunting," the room fell silent at my words, except for the gasp that left my sisters mouth. "See," I continued "I got asked to join at a Uni in London and I never told you because I knew you would say no," the words left my mouth so fast that I almost stumbled over my words.


"Harry!" Mum raised her voice followed by a gasp which made me panic. "How could I ever deny you your freedom this is your dreams and it seems like you've got everything planned out. When do you leave ?" Mum started crying by the thought of her only son leaving the nest, a view that broke my heart.


"I leave in a week," I quietly informed her.

I could feel my sisters eyes burning into the side of my scull as I spoke the words to my mother.


I felt bad for leaving everyone behind, but mum was right, and after all, I wanted to go to London to follow my dream.


"I already booked the flight," I informed her.








When the day finally came, mum and Gem didn't say much at the airport, mostly because they were too busy crying.


Mum gave me the biggest hug and as she fixed my collar she told me to always be safe, protect myself and stay in contact.

Gem just hit me on my torso and said 'Stay in shape loser I'll miss you,"


I chuckled at her and pulled her in for a hug.

"I love you guys " I stumbled over my words as I fought back the tears.


'A man crying, such a pussy' I scolded myself.


As I walked to the wing my plane was at I gave them a last wave.





I was off to start my new life in a different country.


Great things were yet to come, I could feel it.

I promised myself that I would try and visit my mum and sister as often as possible, and if it wouldn't be possible for me to leave, I swore to myself that I would find a way to get them to come to me.
