The Law of The Jungle
Mine
*KEY: anything in quotes that Is italicized is Ashton talking to her in her mind*
I sighed, it had been a long day. I spent a good chunk of it at the police station, answering questions as best I could. It was hard, and I had to hold back tears the whole time. Ashton wasn't allowed to be in the room with me, but I could still hear him in my mind, encouraging me. The police officer thanked me forms my cooperation and let me go.
I had spent another couple hours trying to work out funeral plans. The woman was super helpful, because I had no idea how the hell to plan a funeral. I didn't even know how to work my shower sometimes.
I was staying with Ashton now, because he wouldn't let me go home. Not that I minded, it was scary to go back to the house because it was still a mess with the dried blood caked everywhere. I hadn't heard from Liam to top it all off. Usually, we hung out on the weekends or at least texted, and he hadn't answered any of my texts. I figured he was mad about what happened on Friday. I couldn't even explain it myself, it was as if some outside force was making me go with Ashton.
Now I knew. If what Ashton told me was true, about being his imprint, then it would make sense that I would be attatched to him in some way.
When I came home, I was obviously tired and somewhat annoyed with the day. It didn't help that Ashton was in a mood when I stepped inside the house either.
The first thing I heard was, "you need to break up with Liam,"
I looked over at him, "hello to you too,"
"I'm serious," he frowned, "I should have never let this go on, and now that you know about everything, I'm not letting it,"
"Can this hold off," I huffed, "im really tired,"
"Elle," he warned, his pupils overtaking the usually bright green eyes I was used to.
"I can't just break up with him without a particular reason," I pointed out, "what am I going to say to him?"
"I'm breaking up with you," he shrugged, looking annoyed.
"Why are you so annoyed all the sudden?" I asked.
"Because Elle, I know you were texting him,"
"He didn't even respond, I can't just suddenly stop talking to him because of this whole thing." I huffed, "he'd know something is up,"
"I don't care Elle," he growled, "I don't like him,"
"He's nice Ashton" I defended Liam, "I wouldn't like him if he wasn't,"
"He doesn't love you Elle. He can't make you feel the way I can! He doesn't care when you're gone like I do! What we have is special. We have an unbreakable bond. You don't have that with him. No one will ever love you more than I do," he frowned, "no one,"
"Liam cares," I told him, trying to convince myself.
He came over and grabbed my hand. I was over come by a sense of anxiety. My heart started to speed up and I gasped for breath.
"I can make you feel whatever I want," Ashton said emotionlessly.
"Make it stop," I cried trying to catch my breath.
"Not until you see," he growled.
"Stop it Ashton!" I hollered.
The anxiety vanished and was replaced by a feeling of warmth, spreading through my stomach.
"Only I can calm you down like this," he added, his expression still somewhat cold, "he can't,"
"And you can hear me,"
I sighed.
"Liam can't do that," he made a face.
I paused and looked over at him, "I understand what you're saying ash, but he still does care for me. I know it, and I can't just crush his feelings like that,"
"No he doesn't Elle!" Ashton snarled, "he's a werewolf just like me! And you aren't his imprint. You're mine get it? Mine. He doesn't love you, he never could even if he tried."
I frowned. So basically my whole relationship with Liam was some false affection. Ouch that hurt.
Ashton knew he'd hit a nerve with his confession. He sighed.
"I love you Elle, I have since the first day I saw you, when we were kids. Because I knew from the beginning that you weren't just some girl. And I've spent my whole life just being your friend, when inside, I know that it's not supposed to be that way. We were made for eachother Elle, can't you see that?" He whispered.
I finally caved and nodded, "I see,"

I was watching TV in the livingroom by myself. The TV was on, but I wasn't particualrly interested in it. I was too busy thinking.
"Hey," Ashton said softly, "I wanna show you something,"
I yawned and nodded, "where is it?"
"You'll see," he smiled, "c'mon,"
I followed him and he opened the front door.
"I have to put shoes on?" I whined
He grinned, "yes, now stop whining,"
"Someone's pushy," I made a face as I put my boots on.
We got into his car and he started to drive back towards my house.
"Ashton," I frowned.
"We aren't going there, I promise," he said seriously, taking my hand in his and giving it a gentle squeeze.
Once again, my nerves vanished as if it were nothing.
We came to another area which lead to the woods.
"You wanna see me change?" He asked
I nodded eagerly, "yes,"
We got out and he lead me a little ways into the wood so that no one who wasn't supposed to see did.
He told me to back up a little so I did and crossed my arms waiting. Of course, I blinked and I completely missed it.
"Wait I blinked!" I cried looking at this gigantic wolf standing in front of me.
His tail started to wag.
"You're a dork" I heard in my mind.
I smiled and approached him slowly. It was so weird. This was definitely the wolf I saw in the woods that day. His fur was completely black, but it was the same green eyes that were familiar to me.
I reached my hand out and touched his fur. It was really soft and warm. Ashton let out a soft grunt and nuzzled his head into me. I giggled and wrapped my arms around him. He pulled back and crouched down.
"Get on,"
I obliged and climbed onto his back. He stood up and I squealed, seeing how high off the ground I was. I clutched onto him, praying I wouldn't fall off. He trotted into the woods. I had never been this far in. It was getting dark too, but I felt safe with him here. I know that he'd keep me safe.
After getting used to the feeling of not touching the ground, I relaxed. I stroked his soft fur and sighed contently. After some more walking we came to a clearing. Even through the dark, I could see many other figures. It was a group of wolves, and they were all lying down in the grass. There were 3, and I guessed that they were Calum, Luke, and Michael.
Ashton let out a low howl and approached.
They all lifted their heads up. He got closer and I could see pretty well. There was a chocolate brown wolf with dark brown eyes, it had to be Calum. Then there was a blondish brown one with blue eyes. Luke. And the last was a dusty brown with little tints of blonde, and green eyes. Michael.
All of their fur colors were the colors of their natural hair. And their eyes were the same color they were. So why was it that Ashton's fur was black? His hair wasn't black. His hair was light brown.
Calum stretched out to reveal Gabby. Calum had curled his body around her to keep her warm and conceal her from of plain sight. The area was clearly theirs, but I had a feeling that they were nervous that Liam would be creeping around, waiting for a chance to attack.
Michael and Luke relaxed and revealed both Kasey and Ryleigh. They squealed when they saw me. I smiled at my friends. Ashton let me down and they came over, tackling me to the ground in hugs. I laughed and wrapped my arms around all three of them.
"We heard about what happened," Ryleigh frowned, "were so glad you're okay,"
"Thank you," I mumbled hugging her tighter.
When I opened my eyes I spotted Ashton a little aways. He was trotting around, his snout to the ground. He went up to a tree and rubbed his head and side against it. I giggled maybe he was itchy?
He continued his patrolling, rubbing his head on a couple more areas.
He trotted back over and came to me. I smiled. He nuzzled his head into me and nudged me. I lost my balance and fell onto the ground, laughing softly. He continued to rub his head all over me.
"Mine"
So that's what he was doing. He was marking his scent on everything. Apparently I wasn't an exception.
"Stop it," I giggled
His tail was wagging like a puppy. I wondered how he could be so intimidating when now he was so adorable.
"I lub you,"
"I hate you," I whined
He responded by licking my face.
"Ew!" I squeaked, "you licked me!"
His tail starred to wag even more sparratically and his eyes were dancing happily.
I giggled and hugged him, resting my head in his soft fur.
He laid down and I curled into his side, taking in his warmth. He pulled his legs up around me, so I was fully enclosed by his body. I closed my eyes and relaxed. He laid his head on the ground but his ears were straight up keeping watch. The others settled down too. Soon enough, I fell asleep.
