Going For It

“Alfie!!” I yelled as I ran to give Alfonso a hug. He’s become like an uncle to me. Right now all the celebrities and pros are at his house for lunch before we all go to get prepped for the show tonight. “Minni Hough!” He yelled as he hugged me back. “Is he here yet?” I asked about Harry. “Yup. Where is your brother?” he asked looking behind me. “He’s parking the car. Who exactly is already here?” I asked him. “Harry, Tom, both Ballas, Bethany, Whitney, Jonathan, Lea, and Harry. Everyone else is running a little bit late. AJ has been looking for you by the way.” He said. Since I’ve actually met Alfonso I’ve baby sat his son, AJ, three times. “I want to see him.” I said as he led me to his living room where the others were. “Babe!” Jonathan yelled when he saw me. He has seriously become like a brother to me and I love it. “Hey babes. How are you?” I asked going and sitting on his lap. He instantly wrapped his arms around my waist and gave me a squeeze. “I’m good. Just a little tired.” He said and I laughed. “I think all the celebrities are.” I said as Harry came and sat next to Jonathan. “I know I am.” Harry said. “Well that means you guys are doing it right.” Whitney said walking over with AJ in her arms. He looked at me and held his arms out. Whitney handed him to me then took a seat on the ground in front of us. “It’ll also be worth it in the end.” I said and the others agreed. Once every star and pro were there we all went into the kitchen where food was prepared and began to pile our plates with food. We then walked to the dining room and sat down. I was between Harry and McKenna. “So are you nervous about tonight?” Derek asked looking around the table. “Very. I don’t understand how you guys do it every year.” Michael said and all the pros beside Kenna and I laughed. “Seriously how do you guys do it?” Kenna asked without a hint of a joke. “We really just take time and think about things and taking a breather.” Peta said and I nodded my head. The rest of lunch was spent laughing and telling embarrassing stories about each other. At around three we all left to go to the set. Once we were there we were all rushed to makeup and costume. At around four thirty Harry and I were ready for our dress rehearsal. “You got this babe.” I said giving his hand a squeeze as we waited for the music to start. “Thanks.” He said smiling at me. As soon as the music started we began the opening to our dance. When we were finished we were told to wait in the sky box with the others. When we walked back up I was attacked in a hug by Derek. “That was amazing sis.” He said and I smiled. I look up highly to both Derek and Julianne and knowing that he likes my dance makes me that much more confident. “Thanks bubbers.” I said after he released me from the hug. “No problem.” He said before walking down the stairs with Bethany. Harry pulled me into a hug then spun me around. “I’m so pumped for tonight!” Harry exclaimed and I laughed as he set me down. “Me too babes. Now let’s watch Derek and Beth.” I said walking over to the ledge to watch them.
