One Little Tweet

Chapter 9:
I smile slightly at my dad as he pulls back.

"It really is okay dad," I whisper to him. Quickly he nods.

"Okay, just don't make it seem to okay. Alright?" He says seriously.

"I will make it seem okay because I totally understand." I say with a smile. He finally sighs in defeat and nods.

"Okay, I guess." My dad says. "Now, don't worry about Beth," he says. Then whispers, "I'm getting a divorce with her. It will go through with the courts in about 2 more days." He smiles at me as I chuckle.

"How long have you been with her anyways?" I ask quietly.

"I've been married to her for about 4 months and the last 2 months she has been a little off." He says shrugging.

"Do you really love her?" I ask quietly. My dad shakes his head and gives me a small smile.

"No," He answers quietly.

"Why would you marry her then?" I ask him.

"Because she asked me to marry her and I figured, hey why not, you know?" He said quietly, looking down.

"I understand dad. You were lonely, right?" I say with a tiny smile.

"Yeah, I really was. I mean I know I have all my kids now, I don't feel as lonely now." He says looking up with a smile.

"I'm glad," I answer as the door opens and Jason comes in.

"She is flipping out dad." Jason says quietly. My dad nods and goes to the living room.

"Sooo?" Jason asks quietly.

"So?" I say back with a half smile.

"How do you like it here?" Jason finally says after a couple minutes. I look at him weirdly.

"Well except for Beth, I like it very much." I answer quietly. He nods and chuckles.

"I can understand that," he says quietly. I nod and my phone rings.

I look at the screen and it reads: Carrot King! Who is that? Quickly I answer.

"Hello?" I answer my phone. Jason raises his eyebrow and I shrug.

"Hi!" I hear Louis voice yell. Immediately I pul the phone away from my ear.

"Pipe down a bit Louis!" I say into the receiver.

"Sorry, Liam says I need to be quieter or he's gonna hurt me!" Louis whisper making me giggle.

"I don't think Liam would hurt you Louis," I answer him.

"Uh-huh! He hurt me after we got home during football!" Louis said quietly.

"Really now?" I say with a smile.

"Yes! He kicked me in the knee!" Louis said proudly.

"Well may I speak to him so I may tell him off?" I say to Louis with a smile.

"Of course!" He answers, then I hear him yell away from the phone a little. "Liam!"

"What? Whose hurt?" I hear from a little ways away.

"Well, my knee still hurts, the phone is for you though!" Louis answers.

"Who is it?" Liam asks on the other side.

"Talk and you'll see!" Louis says and then I faintly hear footsteps walk off.

"Hello?" I hear Liam say into the phone.

"You are in big trouble mister!" I say seriously. Jason looks at me weirdly and I put a finger to my mouth.

"Alice?" Liam asks and I can hear the hope and excitement in his voice.

"Yes! Now what is this I hear about you kicking Louis in the knee?" I say with attitude.

"I didn't mean to!" He says and sounds a little sad.

"Did you apologize?" I ask quietly, a little upset I made him sad.

"Yes!" He says seriously.

"I have a feeling Louis was just trying to get me to talk to you." I state, then I hear Liam chuckle.

"Probably," He answers and you can hear the smile in his voice.

"Alice, will you come here?" My dad yells from the living room.

"I've got to go Liam, I'll talk to you later. Bye," I said.

"Bye Alice," Liam said before hanging up. I put my phone in my pocket an walked to the living room
