Behind Enemy Lines

"Relax princess, just trust me" he said reassuringly.
Hayley leant back and looked up at him, "I don't get it,"
"Get what?" He asked
"Why you're helping me," She frowned, "Why you're so nice. We're supposed to hate eachother, and I don't hate you,"
"Sometimes things end up differently," he shrugged, "it all happens for a reason,"

"Thank you," she gave a small smile, "for everything,"

Before either realized what was happening, they were leaning in. They were staring deep into eachothers eyes with a warm welcome.

They were opposites. They were supposed to be enemies. And yet, neither could find it in them to stay apart. It was as if they were being pulled together by some outside force.

Their lips met. At first is was slow and sweet, but then they realized how much they wanted and needed eachother. Hayley felt all the sadness and stress melt away into nothingness. A weight had been lifted off her shoulders. She relaxed into his touch, which was warm and inviting.

"That's all the thanks I needed," he smirked playfully.
She laughed and rolled her eyes.

"Miss me?"
Hayley turned and saw Ryder in the doorway of her room.
She started to get anxious.
"Ouch," he chuckled, "I guess not,"
"I'm busy," she told him, "go away,"

"You know you can't keep avoiding me," He responded, "I'm not letting you go,"
"I do not want to date you," she told him, "So you might as well just give up now,"
"i know you're just playing hard to get," He shrugged.
"actually, no." She shook her head, "I just really dont like you,"
He came over and grabbed her wrists, "i thought we already went over this sweetheart,"

She gulped, "Don't"

"I don't want to hurt you," He explained, "But I'm willing to do whatever it takes for you to get it through your pretty little head. You belong to me, and this gang? It's going to be mine."
"I don't see why you need me," She huffed, "You can inherit the gang without me,"

He dropped her, "You're worth a lot more than you think dear. And, there also needs to be an heir,"
His left eye dropped into a sneaky wink and she felt as though she was going to get sick.
"Never will I ever have sex with you," She grimaced.
"It's okay to want it sweetheart, I don't blame you," He grinned.

"Ew!" She made a face, "Just leave, you're being really creepy,"
"You're just innocent" He cupped her flushed cheeks.
Hayley wiggled out of his grasp, "Go!"
"As you wish," He backed away and left.
She groaned and laid down on her bed. This was just getting weirder and weirder.

"What are you doing?" Jackie asked
Hayley turned, "what?"
"You're staring," she smirked, "at Calum,"
Hayley blushed, "I am?"

Jackie giggled, "oh c'mon, it was so noticeable!"
Hayley groaned and laid her head on the table, "please tell me you're the only one who noticed,"
"Don't worry kid," she patted her friends shoulder, "no one else did."
"Good," she mumbled turning her head to look at her.

The bell rang and they went upstairs to their study. Jackie lead her to the farthermost room that branched off.

"There's something you aren't telling me," she quirked an eyebrow, "so spill,"
"I can't," Hayley whined, "were in public,"
"No one can hear us back here," she pointed out, "you like him don't you?"
"N-no," Hayley snorted.

Jackie giggled, "you're such a horrible liar!"
"Shut up," Hayley whacked her.
Jackie was lying on the carpeted floor laughing her ass off.
"This isn't funny!" Hayley scolded.

"I'm sorry," she giggled, catching her breath, "okay, I'm done now,"
Hayley sighed and ran her hand through her hair.
Jackie stood up and went over to her, "so you seriously do like him?"
"Yeah," Hayley frowned, "and I don't know what to do about it,"
"everything will fall into place," Jackie assured, "you just gotta hold on,"

"So you aren't mad?" Hayley asked, "I mean, he is in the opposing gang,"
"Of course not silly!" She giggled, "He's a total cutie and I can see you guys dating,"

Hellloooo!!!! I;m so happy, so much feedback today! It's great! Sorry I couldnt update earlier, I watched Halloweentown all day today and am currently crying over the bruins. They seriously need to win or I'm going to cry even harder.

Anyway, if they win I'll probably post again tonight out of sheer happiness, and the fact I've almost finished chapter 7 anyway.

I'm now going to continue yelling at my TV screen
