Behind Enemy Lines

Hayley woke up feeling warm and comfortable. She was tucked tightly underneath the bed sheets. She yawned and looked around, spotting Calum standing over a bassinet. It all flooded back to her. The pain, the tears, the cries the two babies she'd been waiting forever for. She even remembered right before she fell asleep.

"They're beautiful princess," Calum kissed her forehead, "I'm so proud of you, I love you so much."

She blinked a couple times.

"Calum?" Her voice came out like a peep.
He turned and smiled when he saw her.
"Hi princess," he came over, "how do you feel?"
"Calm," she told him, "like every is falling into place,"
"Good," he nodded, "do you want to see them?"
"Yes," she giggled.

He nodded and went over,carefully scooping the little bundle into his arms. He brought that sleeping baby over and placed it in her arms. The blanket was light blue, so she figured it was the little boy that they had lovingly named Jacob Ashton Hood.

She smiled so wide as she took in his mini features. He already had some dark brown hair growing atop his head. She giggled as he scrunched his nose up and yawned.
"He's perfect," she whispered.

Calum nodded in agreement and kissed her head. She spent a couple more minutes basking in the awe of her little son until cries interrupted the peace.
"She's awake," Calum laughed softly.
"I think she's jealous," Hayley smiled.

The cries got louder and Calum stood up, and went over.
"I know I'm coming I'm coming," he assured the little girl.
He scooped her up as well and brought her over to Hayley.
"Oh sure, give me the crying baby," Hayley rolled her eyes playfully.

"I'm pretty confident you're better at this than I am," he said.
"How would I be better? I just woke up," she laughed
"Cause you have mother instincts or something like that," he shrugged.
She shook her head at him, "oh Calum,"

They switched off and Hayley noticed that the girl was much smaller than her brother.
Her little eyes peeked open and her hands reached up at Hayley. Hayley let her little hands curl around her finger. The little girl already had a tight grip and wouldn't let go. Hayley giggled.

"Hi sweetie," Hayley whispered.

she cooed and wiggled her little body in response. Her name was Cecelia Gabrielle Hood.
Jacob and Cecelia. They were definitely going to be a handful. But Hayley was excited to start this new adventure with them and Calum. It was going to be very fun.

There was a knock on the door which interrupted the silence. Hayley looked up and saw Ashton in the doorway. Gabby was holding his hand as he seemed quite unsteady on his feet.
Hayley broke out into an even bigger grin.
"You woke up," Hayley gasped

He grinned all dimply in response, "are you kidding! I wouldn't miss this for the world!"
This was definitely the best day ever.
"Come sit ash," gabby coaxed, "you can't be on your feet too long yet,"
"I do what I want," he sassed playfully.
She rose an eyebrow, "you wish, now come sit,"

He grinned cheekily but obliged. He took a seat by the window.
"Bring me the children!" He rocked in his sear excitedly.
"Alright, calm yourself sir," Hayley told him.
He giggled and Calum brought him Cecelia.
Another giggle errupted from him as he held his niece.

"She's so cute!" He grinned, "I love her,"
Calum grinned at Hayley. Hayley wiped the happy tears from her eyes and nodded.
Soon enough, the whole gang had arrived. Even Calum's father Andrew was there. It was far too many people in the room at the same time, but that was the least of their worries.

"They're wonderful," Luz complimented, "so cute,"
"Thank you," Hayley interlocked their fingers, "they might not be here if you didn't save me,"
"You're welcome," Luz smiled, "I'm so glad we are friends,"
"Me too," Hayley gave her as best a hug she could from her laid back position.

Jackie was bouncing around peering at the babies.
"I just want to squish their faces!" She cried excitedly.
Luke laughed, "they're too little to now, you have to wait,"
"Okay," she sighed

He grinned and hugged her from behind as they both looked down at the babies.
Gabby leaned her head on Ashton's shoulder. He poked her nose and smiled.

"Everything worked out," she smiled, watching all the people interacting.

Everyone was laughing and smiling and having fun. Andrew was cradling Jacob in his arms.

"Finally," Ashton nodded, "I'm so happy,"

"Me too ash," gabby giggled, "me too "

THE END! I hope you liked it:) I had a lot of fun! There probably won't be a sequel to this, but I will be starting another bad boy story with Luke or Michael (probably Luke for this one!) so be on the look out! I'll post an A/N when it's finally out:)
