Behind Enemy Lines

"Time to move out boys," Andrew told his small brigade.
He spotted Calum, lost in the clouds. That was unusual because he was always focused.

"Cal," Andrew called him over.
Calum came over, "yeah dad?"
"What's with you? You seem off," Andrew told him.
"It's just been a little rough," Calum shrugged, "I'm worried,"
"It's about her isnt it?" Andrew rose an eyebrow.

Calum nodded his head.
Andrew sighed, "she's a strong girl Calum, she's been through hell and back and lived to tell the tale. It's nothing she can't handle,"
"She doesn't talk about it with anyone, not even me. I just wish I could get inside of her head,"
"It'll take some time for her to get back to normal," Andrew said, "you have to remember that her father is dead and her brother is in a coma. You're the only family she has,"

Calum nodded. Andrew gave a small smile.
"You didn't think you'd be a father this soon did ya?" Andrew smiled.
"Not really," Calum admitted with a shrug.
Andrew clapped his shoulder, "I'm happy for you son. It's going to be a great experience. You have a lot going for you, a pretty girlfriend, a family, and lots of friends. Enjoy it, don't be so down,"
"Yessir," Calum nodded

"Hi ash," Hayley smiled, squeezing her brothers cold limp hand.
He was still hooked up to the machines, a mask on his face to keep him alive.
She sighed when he didn't even respond.

"I miss you ash, and I hope you can hear me," she told him, "there's so much that you've missed in a month! I hope your awake for the babies to be here,"
She stood silently, just staring down at him.

She had come see him again today. Gabby spent the night with him, so she was passed out by the time Hayley arrived. She had told gabby to go home and get sleep. After some convincing, she finally gave in.
Jackie and Luz had come with Hayley to see Ashton, because Calum was still sleeping. He had a long night, so Hayley wasnt going to drag him along with her. They had gone to get something to drink because they were really thirsty.

Hayley stood over Ashton's bed, lost in thought. She didn't hear the room door open or anybody enter. Ryder had snuck in. His intentions were anything but good.
She turned but he had already grabbed her and put a hand over her mouth. She tried to scream, but it was muffled by his hand.

"You thought you'd get away from me eh sweetheart?" He growled in her ear.

She whimpered and looked around for something to fight back with. She couldn't find anything so she kicked her foot backwards until she hit him right in the crotch. He responded by throwing her down onto the ground. She stuck her hands out to break her fall, but the sheer force of the shove was too much for her hands to withstand.

She landed right on her swelled tummy, immense pain burning through her core. She screamed and tears immediately flooded to her eyes. She didn't care if she herself was injured, she was worried about her babies. She rolled onto her bottom so she was sitting and cried for help.

"Someone help me!" She screamed, "please! My babies!"

Ryder cursed and raised his hand to hit her, but Luz came in at the right time. She had a fire extinguisher in hand and hit him in the back of the head with it, knocking him unconcious before he could deal a deadly blow.

Hayley was crying as she realized that the was now a pool of blood pooling around her. She had no idea where it was even coming from. Her stomach was still burning immensely, and she could feel the babies writhing within her. It only caused more pain.

Luz!" She screamed.
Luz dropped the entinguisher and ran back into the hallway, calling for doctors. Jackie ran in and gasped at the sight. She came over and knelt beside Hayley who was gasping for breath and moaning in pain.
"Were gonna get you help okay?" Jackie tried to soothe.
"You're going to be fine," Luz told her.

The nurses came running in with a stretcher. They helped Hayley up, which made it even worse. The pain was getting so bad she didn't think she'd be able to take it.
They got her on the stretcher and attached an oxygen tank to her face.

"Calum," Hayley gasped, "call him,"
Jackie nodded and ran off to call him. Luz held her hand all the way down the hallway until they told her she was not allowed to pass through.

The pulled her through some doors into an emergency surgery room.

Ashton felt himself slowly gaining consciousness. He heard soft whimpering and sobs. It was Gabby.
he remembered her immediately. His wonderful girlfriend, whom he loved more than the world.

he fought to open his eyes. He was immediately blinded by the bleach white walls and curtains of the hospital room. He heard the heart monitor beeping steadily.

After searching the room, he spotting her sitting in the corner. Gabby had her head in her hands, her shoulders trembling as she sobbed.

"gabby?" Ashton asked, his voice husky.
she looked up immediately. Their eyes met and she immediately froze. Her jaw dropped to the floor.
"A-ash," she stuttered standing up, "you're awake,"
he smiled, "I am. What happened?"
"you got shot," she sniffled, "you've been in a coma for a month,"

"I remember seeing Calum and Hayley before I blacked out. Are they here?" He asked
she nodded, "ash, um....Hayley went into early labor,"
"she what?" Ashton asked
"Ryder, he attacked her when she was in here visiting you earlier. They had to take her and give her and section,"
"well is she okay!?"
,"I dunno," gabby sighed, "we'll see,"

I'm so mean! I made like 4 of you cry last chapter! But this has been the plot since the beginning, I can't just change it! but Ashton is awake!!

also!! As I said before, I plan on doing another bad boy! 5sos.
