Behind Enemy Lines
I love you
Hayley felt someone grab her and pull her down the hallway.
She gasped and wiggled. When she looked up she saw it was a very angry Calum.
"Let go of me, " she hissed, " I'm not allowed to talk to you,"
He scoffed, "that never stopped you before,"
He pulled her into the closet and shut it, leaving them alone together.
"What the fuck was that?" He snarled
She flinched at his words, "I can explain,"
"Good," he gestured.
She took a breath, "yeah Ryder told my dad that we were together the other night,"
"What does that have to do with the fact that he was all over you?" Cal muttered
"My dad said that I'm not allowed to talk to you, and if I do, then-then...." She trailed off
"Then what?" Calum asked, his expression softening.
"Then he'll kill you," she whispered.
He immediately felt bad for being upset with her. He was obviously hurt because he really liked her. He actually had feelings for her, and he never thought that he would ever be able to say that. He wasn't lovable. He was cold and unforgiving. He didn't deserve the love of a girl, especially not Hayley.
"You were trying to protect me," he whispered
She nodded, "I don't want you to get hurt Calum, Ryder told me that if I didn't do what he said then he would tell my dad that we did talk and then my dad would kill you."
"Don't worry about me," he said seriously, "I'm not worth worrying over,"
"Yes you are," she told him, "I really like you Calum,"
Even in the darkness of the closet, he could see the bashful blush burning her cheeks. He grinned cheekily.
"I like you too," he mumbled, leaning his forehead on hers.
She gave a small smile as his lips met hers in a sweet kiss.
She pulled away frowning, "you have to go Calum, we can't get caught,"
"I don't care, I'm not staying away," he said sternly.
She tugged on his shirt, "please Cal, I don't want you to either, but I'm not letting you get killed."
Her eyes were sad as she looked up at him. Her bottom lip pouted out a bit.
"Fine," he sighed, pulling her in for one last long kiss.
Hayley felt her head in the clouds as she blocked everything else out. It was an amazing feeling. She never even imagined feeling this way about someone. They'd known eachother for ages, if only they could've realised their feelings earlier than this.
"Bye princess," he cooed in her ear.
She giggled and hugged him tighter than before, "bye,"

A couple more months passed.
A routine had started. Whenever they could, she and Calum would sneak away. They refrained from texting, because Hayley's dad would take her phone at random times and check her messages.
Ashton knew that she and Calum were sneaking around. He warned her to be careful, but he knew that this was one time he couldn't stop her from doing it. She was swayed by her own decision and she wasn't going to change her mind.
Tonight was a rare occurrence. Jackie has shown her colors as being a true best friend and helped Hayley cover. Hayley had told her father she was going to sleep over Jackie's that weekend. He didn't believe her until Jackie came over and affirmed it.
With Jackie's assurance, he let her go.
In reality, she was spending the weekend at Calum's house. He lived by himself, which Hayley thought was weird since he was only 19, but whatever. If it meant that they could be alone for more than 10 minutes then it was great.
As soon as Calum opened the door, he dragged her inside and shut the door. She giggled and let him. He was grinning cheekily. He pinned her to the wall and kissed her. She wrapped her arms around his neck and stood on her tiptoes since she was so short.
"Jump," he mumbled against her lips.
She nodded and did so. His hands cupped her bottom and supported her.
"I missed you," he smiled between kisses.
"I missed you too," she whispered with a happy smile.

Calum hummed a soft song while he rubbed circles in her back. She traced the tattoos on his chest before digging contently and laying her head in the crook of his neck.
"I love you," he mumbled, kissing her forehead.
"I love you too," she smiled, cuddling closer into his chest.
Her mind was still on cloud nine. She was the happiest she'd ever been in this one moment. Just being here, sharing this sweet quiet moment after the intimacy they just shared was amazing. It only made her love him more.
"No ones going to tear us apart," he assured her.
"How do you know?" She asked
"Because, I have a crazy idea," he said
"What is it?" She laughed.
"Let's run away,"
