The 1D Adventure

Skylar's P.O.V.

Kaycee and I are sitting in second hour right now. And I am about ready to DIE! It is so boring. It is advanced mythology and since it is the end of the year we are getting together in groups and doing our final project. Kaycee and I got paired up with Alonah, Christian, and Matt. I wonder how matt feels being the only guy in out group, and yes Christian is a girl, if you were wondering.

“So what if we were to act it out? We could make it super funny and we would have to do next to no work.” Kaycee suggested. ‘Typical her. She had been the lead actress in every play and musical since kindergarten. But she is right acting could be funny.’


“We could do that or we could draw out all of the Olympian gods and goddesses.” Alonah chorused. ‘Easy for you to say and do. You have been the top art student for years. There is no way in Tarterus ( the teacher says to use Tarterus instead of the other word because she doesn’t like it used in her classroom and now I am just used to it) I will be able to draw.’

“No!” Kaycee, Matt, and Christian all objected in unison. Then they all laughed and Matt high-fived each of them just because he was the type of person to do that. He always has been. I would know he has been in mine and Kaycee’s mythology class since 7th grade. Oh yeah, mythology had been a very long class since 7th grade. Kaycee has some history with Matt too. And I don’t mean the friendship kind either. Oh yes, Matt and Kaycee started to date when they were 16 but quickly ended it after they realized that they liked each other as a brother and sister way. Talk about Awkward.


“Fine let’s just go with Kaycee’s idea then.” Alonah agreed. ‘Wow is she really agreeing that easily? I’m surprised she never agrees to something without a fight. Well how people change.’

“All right then first thing, what myth do we want to act out?” Christian asked us. I grinned evilly. ‘Light bulb!’

“I think we should do the Hades Persephone myth, yeah? No one else will do it so we might as well.” I declared. The only reason I did it was because i know for a fact that Matt has taken a fancy to Alonah and the same goes for her. ‘Oh I really love messing with other peoples’ lives it is always so interesting!’ “Oh and we could have Alonah be Persephone, she would do just divinely and Matt would naturally be Hades as he is the only boy. Oh this will be grand.” I shrilled. I was pretty sure Kaycee and Christian had caught on by now and they would agree to this idea so if Matt and Alonah said no it would be three against two.

Sure enough they started to protest immediately but Christian hurried and said that is was ‘three against two’ so they had no say in the matter.

“Great Kaycee will be the narrator and Christian and I will play all the minor roles. I will get working on the costumes right away and I’m sure Kaycee and Christian will be ecstatic to work on the script. You two can help me in the costumes department.” I concluded, leaving no room for argument. ‘Hey for the first time mythology has been useful.’

Bring Bring Bring went the bell.

“Alright, meet at my house to get started.” Kaycee said then we all departed for our next class.
