Vanilla and Cigars
Chapter 1
WILLOW’S POV
“Ben—,” I whined.
“Please Willow?” He jutted his bottom lip out.
Ben—my older brother—had a date with his girlfriend and asked if I could fill in for him at work.
“Fine,” I huffed.
He smiled, and then hooked his arm around my neck. “Thanks, Willow. You’re the best.”
“I know.”
-
We, Ben and I, walked into the small café that he owned.
When Ben told my parents about his aspiration to start a café, they kicked him out, and he moved in with a fellow colleague who goes by the name of Louis Tomlinson who I have yet to meet.
“Lou!” Ben called.
A tall man turned around to face us from his spot behind the counter. He had windswept, brunette hair that was disheveled and fell just over his eyes.
His eyes were blue. Not the ordinary sky blue, or the color of the paint flaking off of the old shed in the back of the field, or even the little flowers that spring up by the side of the road. His eyes were blue like the sea, crystal clear blue—shimmering and crashing and churning. Looking into his eyes you could hear the waves falling against the shore, see the foam flying into the air.
A smug smirk rested on his lips as he looked me over and I couldn’t help but blush and look down.
“This is Willow, my sister,” Ben said, emphasizing the last part as he noticed the looks Louis were giving me.
“Hi love, nice to meet you.” He stuck his hand out for me to shake and I took it. His skin felt warm against my own and for a moment, just a moment, I never wanted to let go.
“Lou, I’m going out with Caroline, but I’m expecting you to take good care of her,” Ben said as Louis released my fingers.
“You know I will.”
