Alice Hemmings
Chapter Ten
I giggled as Luke dragged Alice away. They would be cute together, but I could tell that Alice was more interested in Calum and vice versa. I turned around when I felt someone watching me. Two hazel-green eyes were looking my body up and down
Once Ashton realized that I noticed his stare, he blushed and looked down at the marble floor.
“So,” I said, wanting to break the awkward tension in the air. “Are you guys going on tour anytime soon?” I knew that they had just ended a tour with One Direction, but other than that I had no idea.
“Well we’re going to have a bit of a break after we get back from New York. We’ve been working almost non-stop with recording, and touring. There’s going to be about three or four months before we begin to start hype for our tour and about a month after that we’ll actually start.” He said.
“That’s cool,” I said, feeling the awkwardness return.
“Do you want to grab a drink?” he said motioning to the open bar. Even though we were underage, they served us anyway since it was a private party.
“Sure,” I replied, giggling at the obvious nerves in his voice.
Once we had each gotten a drink we sat down and actually started talking, letting the alcohol take over a bit. Soon we were giggling like idiots earning annoyed stares from the people around us, but we didn’t care. Once he opened up a bit, Ashton was really great to talk to. He had the strangest sense of humor but I think that was one of his most appealing features (other than his physical appearance of course). We almost completely forgot that he would soon have to do another song.
John walked up to us looking a little pissed. “Ashton, are you drinking? You have to preform! You can’t be wasted while drumming! And have you seen Calum? I found Luke and Michael but he’s nowhere to be seen and you go on again in five minutes,” OOPS!
“Oh, shit,” Ashton said, bringing himself out of his slightly buzzed state. “I’m so sorry John, I’ll go get ready now,” he said guiltily.
“It was my fault, really,” I said seeing that he was getting himself into deep shit. John gave me a condescending look and scoffed.
“Just go get ready,” he said and stalked away, probably in search of Calum.
“It was really fun talking to you and I wish I could stay, but duty calls.” Ashton said in a serious tone. I giggled at the face he made and gently pushed him in the direction of the stage.
“Go on you idiot, you’re gonna miss your own song,” He gave me a cheeky grin before kissing my forehead and jogging over to where Luke and Michael were tuning their guitars before I could react. I stood there speechless. Did Ashton Irwin just kiss me on the forehead? Don’t get me wrong, I was ecstatic, but I thought I was the only one of us that liked the other. Did this mean he liked me?!?! I had to find Alice!
I scanned the room and didn’t see her black dress among the crowd. Then I thought. Calum’s gone… Alice is nowhere in sight… OMG! They must be together! Which means that they’re probably not just talking ;)… I decided not to worry about it now, and instead watch the boys do their song.
The three of them came onto the stage into their previous positions.
“Um. Hi again,” said Michael awkwardly. “Unfortunately, Calum had to… uh… skip this song but he’ll be back later. This is Good Girls:”
Do do do d-do do do do do do
She's a good girl
She's Daddy's favourite
He's saved for Harvard
He know she'll make it
She's good at school
She's never truant
She can speak French
I think she's fluent
'Cause every night she studies hard in her room
At least that's what her parents assume
But she sneaks out the window to meet with her boyfriend
Here's what she told me the time that I caught 'em
She said to me:
"Forget what you thought
'Cause good girls are bad girls that haven't been caught.
So just turn around and forget what you saw
'Cause good girls are bad girls that haven't been caught."
Whoa oh oh oh- oh whoa oh
Good girls are bad girls that haven't been caught
Whoa oh oh oh- oh whoa oh
Good girls are bad girls that haven't been caught
She's a good girl
A straight A student
She's really into
All that self-improvement
I swear she lives in that library
But if you ask her she'll say
"That's where you'll find me!"
But if you look then you won't find her there
She may be clever but she just acts too square
'Cause in the back of the room where nobody looks
She'll be with her boyfriend
She's not reading books!
She said to me:
"Forget what you thought
'Cause good girls are bad girls that haven't been caught.
So just turn around and forget what you saw
'Cause good girls are bad girls that haven't been caught."
Do do do d-do do do do do do
Good girls are bad girls and good girls are bad girls
Do do do d-do do do do do do
Good girls are bad girls and good girls are bad girls
She's a good girl
(She's a good girl)
Hasn't been caught
(She's a good girl)
She's a good girl
(She's a good girl)
Hasn't been caught...
She said to me:
"Forget what you thought
'Cause good girls are bad girls that haven't been caught.
So just turn around and forget what you saw
'Cause good girls are bad girls that haven't been caught."
For the last part, Ashton turned to me and winked as his drumming slowed. I blushed profusely.
She said to me:
(She said to me)
"Forget what you thought
'Cause good girls are bad girls that haven't been caught.
So just turn around
(Just turn around)
And forget what you saw
'Cause good girls are bad girls that haven't been caught."
Whoa oh oh oh-oh whoa oh
Good girls are bad girls that haven't been caught
Whoa oh oh oh-oh whoa oh
Good girls are bad girls that haven't been caught
Whoa oh oh oh- oh whoa oh
Whoa oh oh- oh oh whoa oh
Good girls are bad girls that haven't been caught
Once they had finished, Ashton walked over to me.
“Hey, Kate, how did we do?” he asked once he reached me and leaned against the wall close enough that his beautiful features were easy to admire without looking like a creep.
“You all did great, but I think the drumming could use a little work…” I trailed off as if deep in thought.
“Hey! That’s mean!” he said pouting. His hands reached forward and ghosted along my hips. He moves his face closer to mine. My eyelids fluttered as I waited for his lips to attach to mine. “Take it back,” he whispered, his breath moving lightly across my face. I shook my head and bit my lip.
Without warning he moved his hands to my waist and started tickling me. “Ashton! Stop!” I nearly screamed between giggles.
“Nope, not until you say that my drumming was the best that you’ve ever seen!”
“Come on Ashton! I can’t lie! Anything but that,” I said and laughed even harder when I saw the mock hurt on his face.
“Fine, you have one other option. I’ll stop if you go out with me tomorrow,” he whispered in my ear as I doubled over and attempted to swat his hands away.
“Fine! Fine! I’ll go out with you!” I said and his hands ceased their attack.
“Really?” he said, disbelief apparent in his voice.
“Of course. You know after we talked at the bar I thought you would never ask,” I admitted with a smirk, as I fixed my hair.
“Well… I just didn’t want to rush I guess… I don’t know. I just really like you,” he said blushing.
“Yeah, yeah ok let’s not take it too far lover boy. I said I would go on a date, not get married,” I said and shoved his shoulder playfully. It was really weird how comfortable I already was with him. It was like we had known each other forever.
He grinned at me. “Come on, let’s go find the others,” he said and pulled me by my hand back to where Luke and Michael were searching for Calum.
When we reached them I stopped their search. “Um guys, I don’t think you want to look too hard for Calum,” They all looked at me with confusion.
“But we need him before our next song,” protested Luke (haha that reminds me of “Jimmy protested” ok sorry back to the story).
“Yeah but I’m pretty sure he’s with Alice,” I said trying to hint at what I really meant but being the dorks that they are, they didn’t get it.
“Well then we’ll find both of them,” said Michael with confusion and Ashton and Luke nodded.
I rolled my eyes. “I guess I’m gonna have to spell it out for you. When I say that he’s WITH Alice, I mean that they’re alone. Together. Away from anyone else. With all of the chemistry between them…” I said suggestively but confusion was still all over their faces. “For god’s sakes! They’re fucking!” I said maybe a little too loudly.
The three boys erupted in laughter and I soon joined. Just then, Alice came from a hallway with Calum in tow.
Michael whistled. “Yeah Calum!” Luke shouted. “Gettin’ it!” Ashton joined in. The couple blushed and made their way over to us.
“Moved on quickly I see,” Luke winked at Alice making her turn an even darker shade of pink.
“Shut up Hemmings,” she said.
I grabbed her hand and pulled her to the side. “That was fast,” I said when we were a safe distance away.
“That might have been the best sex I have ever had,” she whispered.
“So you went all the way?” I asked excitedly. I was really happy for my best friend: for one thing, she had finally gotten over Dylan (she hadn’t gotten with a guy since they broke up) and another, if the thing between Ashton and I goes well along with her and Calum, we could be dating best friends!
“It was hard not to,” she giggled. “And guess what? He asked me out tomorrow!” she said excitedly.
“Oh my god! Ashton asked me out tomorrow as well!” we both did our best-friend-happy-dance (don’t hate us cause you ain’t us bitch haha jk).
We decided that it was time to greet the other guests at the party since the night was nearly half over and moved about the room. Nothing could possibly ruin my amazing night… and it’s not even over!!!
