After we had finished our salads, he excused him to go to the bathroom and take a quick shower. Pushing my chair back, I wiped my mouth off and stood up before making my way over to the window. I pushed the curtain back a little as I looked out the window, completely forgetting just how far up we were. Quickly letting the curtain fall back, I took a few steps back from the window and walked over to the bed, sitting down on the edge. I chewed on the inside of my cheek as I tried to figure out what we were going to do, because we couldn't just go out in public. He would be attacked and there was no way I was going to be the girl standing beside him when fans came up with their new rumor. I was a fan of them, I knew exactly what kinds of things their fans would say. Laying down on the bed, I glared at the ceiling as I closed my eyes. I could feel myself drifting off to sleep and if it hadn't of been for hearing him open the bathroom door, I could've fell asleep.
"So, have you thought about what you wanted to do?" Walking out of the shower, he had replaced his previous outfit with another pair of tight black jeans and a loose white t-shirt. He took his towel and dried his hair, not being able to tame the curls even though they were wet. "Because I think I have something in mind."
Shaking my head, I laughed a little and glanced him over before looking down towards the ground. "No, if you have something in mind that's perfect. I honestly couldn't think of anything." Not that I really tried to.
"Alright, well it requires you get wet," he smirked and raised an eyebrow.
"Excuse me?" My head jerked up and my eyes landed on his again, a look of confusion flashed upon my face. "I have to get wet?"
Tossing his head back as he let out a loud laugh, he shook his head and walked over to me, tossing his towel in the floor. "Not like that. Damn, Paige, don't think too low of me." He grinned before licking his lips, nodding towards the window. "The pool. Me and the boys had it rented out for two days, and after today we won't be able to use it by ourselves."
"Oh," I whispered, feeling like an idiot. Raising my eyebrow as I tried to get past my humiliation, I shook my head and smiled. "Harry, you just took a bath and now you're talking about taking a swim?"
"Yeah, that does sound a bit ironic, doesn't it?" Chuckling as he gave a small shrug, he patted his knee a few times and then stood up. "I love a good swim, though, so what do you say?"
"I don't have a bathing suit with me," I admitted, not that I would wear one around him anyways. I wasn't exactly comfortable with my body and showing it off in front of a guy like him, or even a guy at all, wasn't on my list of things to do anytime soon. "How about you swim and I watch from afar?" Laughing, I tilted my head to the side.
He smirked, making his way to the door. "If you say so." Opening the door, he pulled it back and stood to the side, holding out his arm. "Ladies first."
I stood up from the bed and walked out of the room, turning back to glance at him once I was out. "Thank you, but don't you need some trunks?" Raising my eyebrow, I pushed a strand of my hair back and watched as he let the door close.
"Nope, I'm just fine with swimming in my clothes. Besides, I think I left a pair of trunks down there yesterday." Shrugging as he started walking with me, he led us down the stairs instead of the elevator, and then out to where the pool was. "Pick out where you want to watch me from," he laughed before grabbing two towels.
"Stop, you make it sound like I'm a stalker." Scrunching my nose, I walked over to a spot that had some shade and rubbed my arms, a little nervous that anybody in the hotel could easily look down and see us. "Do you not worry about other people in the hotel taking so many pictures of you?"
He walked over, handing me a towel before sitting his down on his chair. "I'm used to it and besides, I trust my fans not to take any pictures that are too private." Harry gave a concerning look before following my eyes, looking up at all the rooms above us. "Nobody is going to snap a picture of us, if that's what you're worried about. We rented out that whole side of the hotel."
"Well, since you have the money I'm sure that's easy to do." I laughed easily, my eyes going back down to the towel he'd handed me just a few moments ago. "Why'd you get me a towel?"
"I thought you might change your mind later, and I wanted you to have a towel just in case." Grinning, he gave a small wink and shrugged his shoulders. "Call me a gentleman." He ran his hand through his hair and squinted his eyes, glancing up at the sun. "Do you mind walking over there to that shack and grabbing me some sunscreen?"
"Uh, sure." Slipping my shoes off, I pulled my shirt down a little and turned to walk off towards the shack. Once I got to the shack he was talking about, I bent down and pulled out a bottle of new sunscreen, not wanting to touch one that had already been used. As I went to walk back I saw another boy talking to Harry, instantly stopping in my tracks. It was Louis. I set the sunscreen down and acted as if I were still looking for it, not wanting to walk over and pry on something, just in in case it was private.
My eyes slowly gazed over Harry as I took the time to actually take in his features. He was attractive, I couldn't lie to myself. It was easy to see why so many girls were crazy over him and why so many called themselves the future 'Mrs. Styles.' Laughing to myself as I remembered how my little cousin used to claim she'd grow up and marry him, a smile was brought to my face. As the wind picked up a little I pulled my hair over my shoulder, trying to keep it out of my eyes. I watched as Harry did the same thing, trying to keep his hair out of his own eyes. Shaggy hair wasn't something I normally found attractive on a man, but I couldn't seem to picture him with any other type of hairstyle. I bit my lower lip as I thought about his dimples, his sweet smile, and that contagious laugh whenever he found something funny. Shaking my head as I realized Louis was leaving, he gave a small wave and I gave one in return. I cleared my throat and walked back over to Harry, handing him the sunscreen. "Here you go. I hope I got the right kind."
"Thanks," he mumbled as he opened the cap and squirted some into his hands. Glancing up at me as he rubbed some on his face, he smirked. "I figured since you were a Louis girl you would've been over here in a matter of seconds."
"Eh, I didn't want to intrude. Besides, I figured it was something I had no business in knowing." Shrugging as I glanced at the door that Louis had emerged from, I gave a small smile as my eyes landed back on him.
"Well if you must know, he came to see who you were." Harry glanced down, closing the cap on the sunscreen bottle as he tossed it over to another chair. Resting his hands in his lap, he glanced up at me and gave a faint smile. "He wanted to know if we wanted to go out and do something with him and Eleanor. I understand if you want to." He stood up and walked over to the edge of the pool, and I knew that he wasn't up for it. To be honest, neither was I.
Throwing my hands up a little, I bit my bottom lip and for the first time in my life I did something I never would have done before today. I ran over to where he was and pushed his back, only to be caught off guard as he took my wrist and fell back into the water. Hitting the bottom of the pool gently, I pushed myself back up to the surface and waited for him to come back up as well. Once I saw him and the grin that was spread out from ear to ear, I chuckled and pushed my hair back. "I know you really wanted to go with them, but we're wet. I wouldn't want to make them wait." Smirking, I tilted my head to the side and grinned.
"Oh, I see." Harry swam over closer and splashed me a little bit before laughing. "See, you fell right into my trap. I knew you wouldn't go with them if I acted hurt."
My dropped a little as I splashed him back, pushing him back gently before swimming over to the stairs. "You are unbelievable. I felt bad because I thought you really believed I would want to go with them." Once I got to where I could walk, I waded through the water but before I could go up the stairs he caught my wrist again.
"You were going to stay anyways?" He raised his eyebrow, his smile shrinking.
"Of course I was going to stay. I didn't come here to hang out with them, Harry, I came to hang out with you. Besides, do you know how awkward that would have been?" Making a small face, I pried my wrist from his hands, realizing just how much bigger they were than mine. I watched them fall back into the water and rolled my eyes at his expression, sitting down on the steps. "You got me wet."
His eyes lit up at my phrase, his cheeky grin coming back to his lips. "My apologies then. I thought that's what you wanted, though. You are the one who came charging at me."
"You were not supposed to pull me in with you," I mumbled. "You, jerk."
Harry remained quiet for a moment as he bit down on his bottom lip, causing me to lose train of thought. "That's cute." Laughing as he moved over and sat down beside me, he moved his hands above the water and caused little ripples. "So, can I suggest something?"
"I suppose so." My eyes found their way back to his, a smile crept to my lips as I took in his features once again.
"How about we ask each other questions?" Raising his eyebrow as he moved his hands up his arms, pushing his sleeves up on his shoulders and revealing more of his arm ink.
"Harry," I laughed, "are you seriously suggesting we play the question game? You do know how childish that is, right?" Paige, you play that game all the time with Violet, so you have no room to talk. "Actually, yes, that sounds interesting. We have to set some ground rules first, though. I don't know if I can trust your questions, Mr. Styles." I raised my eyebrow, shooting him a small look.
He let out a roar of laughter and shook his head as he promised, "I won't ask any naughty questions. At least not quite yet. We've only hung out once, I can't get too naughty with you."
I rolled my eyes at his answer and smiled, shaking my head. "Alright, the rules. You ready?" Licking my lips, thought for a moment and then cleared my throat. "First rule, no naughty questions of any sort. Second rule, you can't .. well, you can't... oh forget it. I guess I only have one rule."
"Wow, one rule? I have a feeling you're going to be a pushover when it comes to parenting," he smirked. "I'm on agreement with the rules, but not by choice." He shot me a small wink and then pointed at me. "You ask first, that way I can ask the last question. It's very important that I ask last."
"Please shut up, thank you." Laughing as I raised my eyebrow, I pulled my wet hair to one side and leaned forwad on my knees a little. "Okay, but why is it important that you go last?"
"Because, my question will blow your mind. I'm actually really proud of it, to be honest, so I really hope you have a good answer."
"Whatever," I rolled my eyes. Chewing on my bottom lip as I tried to think of a good question, I had to settle with a common one. "What is your favorite color?"
Harry squinted his eyes and glared at me. "Gosh, what an interesting question."
"Just answer it," I rolled my eyes as I waited, already somewhat knowing what his answer would be.
"Hm, I'd either have to go with blue or orange." He gave a small grin and nodded towards my hands. "Judging by your nail polish, I would go ahead and assume that blue is your favorite color as well."
I tried to hide a smile as he guessed right, glancing down at my nails. "You would be correct," I laughed.
"See, I catch on to things." He pressed a finger to his chin as he made little noises with his mouth, glancing over at me with a look on his face. A smirk made itself visible on his lips. "What does that ring stand for on your wedding finger? Are you in a relationship?"
Quickly covering the ring on my wedding finger, I felt my heart stop as he brought it up. I glanced away from him and began playing the ring, turning it around on my finger as I shook my head. "You can only ask one question, Harry. Which one do you want answered?" Glancing back over at him, I gave a small smile.
"Well, since you're here alone with me, a male, I would assume you're single." Licking his lips, he nodded towards my ring and chuckled. "So therefore, I ask the ring question. What's the meaning behind it, or do you just like to wear a ring there?"
I wiped my eyes and let out a small sigh, really not wanting to answer his question. It's not that I was ashamed to be wearing a purity ring but it was more along the fact that when someone like Harry asked you, you felt a bit humiliated. There was no way he was a virgin, but I still was. I was always awkward when people asked me what my ring stood for and to be honest, that was the last question I expected to ask. Who the hell knew he paid attention so much. "It's a ... well, it's a purity ring," I whispered, keeping myself from looking at him.
"As in you're keeping yourself pure until what, you find the right person?" Harry tilted his head to the side.
"No, more like keeping myself pure until my wedding night," I let out a faint laugh.
He kept quiet for a few seconds but then nudged my arm, causing me to look over at him. "Why do I feel like you're embarrassed to tell me that? I'm not judging you. You obviously have morals and honestly, I like that."
"Right," I gave a small smile before quickly changing the subject and asking him another question. Leaning over a little bit as I gazed at some of his tattoos, I grinned. "Why all the ink?"
"I come up with an idea for a tattoo and then I go get it on my skin, that simple." Laughing, Harry licked his lips and rolled his eyes lightly before admitting, "I do regret some of them, though." He clasped his hand together and then leaned back, looking over at me. "You go to school, but what for?"
"Right now I'm just going for my Associate's Degree, but I want to major in Early Childhood Education." I gave a soft shrug as I glanced up at the sky, realizing it wasn't as hot as you would think it would be. "Working with kids has just always been something I've been interested in."
Running his teeth along his bottom lip, Harry nodded. "I think you would make a great teacher, although you might want to work on your whole rule thing. If you're going to be a teacher, you're going to need more than just one rule."
"Thanks for the advice," I laughed with a sarcastic tone, my eyes falling back on him. "Do you ever get tired of being in One Direction? I mean, it seems like the fame and attention would get overwhelming."
"To be honest, at some points I do wish I had a normal life and I do wish I could go out without having people throw themselves at me, male for female," he joked around. He glanced over at me but then looked away, tapping the water lightly. "Not a day goes by that I wish I wasn't a part of the band, though. I never would have met the boys and that's something I'm thankful for."
"Aw, and here I was thinking you were just sarcastic all the time," I grinned.
"Hilarious," he smirked. Harry ran a hand through his wet hair and scooted closer, but I paid no attention to it. "Tell me what your favorite song is."
"My favorite song?" I clicked my tongue a few times and then finally settled with my answer. "I would probably have to say Can't Help Falling In Love by Elvis. It's by far my favorite song for him and I just think it's so romantic. Definitely a song I would have played at my wedding," I admitted.
Turning his body to face me a little bit, Harry grinned and nudged my arm a little bit. "My kind of girl. Elvis was one of my inspirations, still is. Good song choice." Licking his lips, he let his eyes fall down to the water and I found myself wondering what he was thinking.
I ran my hand through my hair, although it had somewhat began to dry, trying to keep it from becoming invaded with tangles. "Have you ever considered cutting your hair?" My eyes traced his face before finding their way up to his hair, his curls clinging to the side of his face.
"Of course I have," he laughed louder than I had expected. "I can't though, it's the feature that everyone knows me for. Besides, I think our girls would have a mini heart attack." Shooting me a wink, he grinned.
Letting my eyes fall to the water, I hide a smile before rolling my eyes. "Of course," I mumbled. He was right, though. Hell, I would probably be one of them, not that I would ever admit it. "Your hair is nice and I happen to think it really suites you."
"Well then, I guess I'll be keeping it like this for a while." Pushing himself off the steps, he waded out into the water a little bit and then turned back towards me. "When did you have your first kiss?"
Now that, that was a question that I was embarrassed to answer. Most people had their first kiss early on in their teenage years but as for me, I had mine after I finished high school and it wasn't anything to praise. "See, why do you have to keep going personal? First it's my ring and now you want to know when my first kiss was?" I let out a nervous laugh and rested my chin in my hand.
"Because I'm curious about you," he looked at me straight in the eyes. "So far I've been proven wrong by all of your answers. My guesses have all been wrong."
"Fine," I breathed heavily. "My first kiss was this year during the month between April and June. If I'm being honest, I wish it wouldn't have been." Shrugging at my answer, this time I kept my eyes locked with his. I would have rather went two more years without a kiss. I expected it to be a moment to remember but it's become a moment I try to force out of mind.
The corner of Harry's mouth pulled into a crooked grin as he raised his eyebrow. "Hm, I was actually right this time." He fell down to his knees in the water, his shoulders and up still visible. "That makes it easier on me."
"How does that make things easier for you?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Now if I want to kiss you, I know I don't have to worry about any previous competition," he winked. "Not that I would be worried about any."
Hitting my hand against the water, I splashed him once before smirking. "You shouldn't be worried anyways because you don't stand a chance," I offered him a wink back. "What's one thing you really want in the future?"
"The future?" He looked up towards the sky as if he was pondering the question. "I really want a family. One day I want to settle down with a girl who makes me weak at the knees, and I want to have kids," his eyes trailed back over to me. "I want the feeling of having someone I can come home to every day, and knowing that I can spend every night with her without having to worry about sneaking out the back of some hotel door." He quickly got off the subject and asked, "What's your favorite song of ours?"
"Honestly, it's a song from the first album you did," I bit my lip. More Than This had been my favorite song ever since I had bought the first album and I had figured it would change once they released more albums but it never did. "I loved More Than This the first time I heard it and it's still my favorite to this day. There was just something about it," I admitted.
Harry's eyes light up for a moment before he finally pushed it aside, letting his expression return back to serious. "That was my favorite song to record," he chuckled lightly.
"Well then, I guess we both have good taste in music, don't we?" Smiling as I tilted my head to the side, I pulled my shirt away from my skin a bit, starting to get irritated by my wet clothes. "I told you my favorite song, so what's yours?"
"Free Fallin' by John Mayer, hands down," his grin returned back to his lips.
"Wow, you really do have good music taste," I let out a small laugh before nodding in acceptance of his choice.
"Okay, this next question is really serious," he cleared his throat. Harry took a few moments before he finally raised his eyebrow. "One Direction or The Wanted?" That cheeky little smile of his returned to his lips, letting his dimples be visible.
Laughing as I leaned forward, I grinned. "Oh, definitely The Wanted." I shot him a small smirk before shaking my head, impressed to see that he was able to joke about something that used to be taken seriously. "You guys, of course." Tapping my chin as I let out a small sigh, I already knew the answer to the question I was about to ask but I went with it anyways. "Who is your best friend?"
He shot me a small look as he scolded, "You really don't know that?"
"Hey, I'm running out of things to ask you. I never said I would be good with the questions," I mumbled."
"It's Louis." He smirked as he remained quiet for a few seconds before laughing, easing the tension as he said his band mates name. "I would explain but I'm certain you know the story. You know, the one where everyone thinks we're more than friends?"
"Yeah, I've heard it a few times," I smiled lightly.
"Anyways," he sighed to himself. "Do you have any siblings?"
"I have four siblings." Holding up fingers as I glanced them over, I laughed and gave a small shrug. "Three sisters and a brother. My father was married before he met my mom, so when he married my mother he already had two girls and a son. We're all one big, happy family now."
"One boy? I think I might know how he feels in this situation," laughing as he looked around. "Although, I didn't have four girls to put up with. I only had Gemma, although she can be tough sometimes."
Rolling my eyes, I placed a hand on my heart and shook my head. "I'm sure Gemma is the angel out of the two of you, Harry."
"I'm offended, honestly." Crossing his arms as his gaze shifted away from me, Harry let out a small puff. "I guess I'll just learn to forgive you, though, because I don't see you apologizing."
"You're right," I nodded in agreement before offering him a tiny grin. "Getting off the subject of you being in denial," I rolled my eyes, "what's your favorite thing to do?"
He gave a small shrug before taking a dip under water, coming back up and wiping the water from his eyes. "I like going out and just doing activities with my friends, but if I had a girl I'd probably stay in more. You know, private time." Winking before he let out a laugh, he smirked. "I would stay in more, though."
"Charming answer, really." I smirked before letting my hand trace circles on top of the water, concentrating on my actions before lifting my eyes back up to meet his.
Harry moved a little closer, making it easier to see his ink through his wet t-shirt. "What do you think of me so far?" He tilted his head to the side a little, resting his eyes on mine as he waited.
My eyes left his as I thought to myself for a few moments, knowing that I wasn't go to say as much as I was thinking. "So far, you've passed the inspection. You're interesting, charming, although I'm sure you already knew that, and easy to talk to. You're still going to have to work on the Harry girl part, though." Smiling as I studied his face, I couldn't help but laugh at the grin he tried to hide. "I'll give you two points out of ten as far as the whole converting me to a Harry girl goes."
"Damn, only two points?" Rubbing his chin, he sighed and shook his head. "You're going to be tougher than I thought. I'm up for it though," he grinned.
"My turn," I laughed. Leaning forward a little bit, I moved my eyebrows a little, interested to know what his answer would be. "Have you had as much fun as you thought you would today?" I finally got off the steps, wading in the water, just like he was.
Harry moved closer to me, causing me to regret moving from the steps. "Why would you even ask me that?" Shaking his head, he let out a small laugh and let his eyes rest on mine as he studied them. "This turned out to be exactly what I thought it would be, and I'm glad you came. If you hadn't of, I would be stuck in my room right now. Being with you has been the best part of my day, and possibly my week."
I forced myself to talk, barely making myself able to be heard, "I'm glad you had fun."
"I hope you've had as much fun as me, although I'm sure we could do something better than this." He let out a small chuckle before taking another step closer, closing the distance between us. My heart skipped as I felt his hand brush against mine under the water, close enough to hear him breathe. "I get to ask the last question," he spoke in a voice just slightly above a whisper. He slipped his index finger under my chin as he brought my face up, forcing my eyes to meet with his once again. "Go on a date with me, please."
If my heart skipped earlier, it had definitely stopped now. I stood there as if I was frozen and replayed his question in my mind a few times, realizing that this wasn't a dream. My eyes fell down to his lips before they slowly made their way back up to his eyes, taking in every specific detail of his features. Feeling his hand under my chin, I gave a slow nod before a smile was visible on my lips. "Okay," I whispered.
He bit down on his bottom lip and grinned, giving a quick nod in reply. Before I realized what he was doing his arms were wrapped around my waist and he was bringing me in closer, tightening his arms around me in a rather warm embrace. "It'll be worth it, I promise. If your first date was as bad as your first kiss, I promise to make this one better." He lowered his lips down to my cheek, pressing his lips against it lightly before pulling back and letting his arms fall back down by his side. "Now, let's get you out of those wet clothes," he winked playfully before leading me back to the stairs.
I hit his arm at his last comment, the pink still visible in my cheeks. "Stop that," I laughed.
"I'm just saying. I don't want you catching a cold before tomorrow night," he grinned. "You need to get home so you can get a good nights rest." His hand rested on my lower back as we walked up the stairs and over to our towels. He handed mine and then took his, drying off his face and wringing out his hair. "Don't worry about anything. I've got something special planned."
Nodding was all I could do as I dried myself off, wringing my hair out as well. For a few minutes I refused to look at him, still unsure as if that had really just happened. Chewing on the inside of my lip, I placed the towel over my arms and finally looked back over at him, a smile forming on my lips as my eyes met his. "So, are you taking me home or will Paul be my driver?"
"No, this time I'm taking you." Grinning as he held out his arm, he gave a small wink as I took his arm. "Lets get you home, Gorgeous." He chuckled lightly before walking me back up to his room so he could change.
Great, I was already in this and there was no way I was getting out. He had me hooked.
