Enchanted

Here Is To New Beginnings

My eyes slowly opened, being greeted my the sun as I turned over to my other side trying to block the rays out. I saw a figure from the corner of my eye and instantly sat up, my heart racing. When my eyes finally adjusted and saw who it was I couldn't help but mumble out a curse word, although I was relieved to see that it was just Lauren. I rubbed the sleep from my eyes as I moved over to the edge of the bed, letting my feet hang off.

"What the hell is this?" Lauren held up my phone, one arm propped up on her hip as she waited on my answer.

Running my hands all along my bed in a frenzy, I glanced back over at her and stood up. I walked over and jerked my phone out of her hands. "How did you get this?"

"I guess it somehow fell in my purse last night on the ride home," she shrugged. "This morning I thought I heard my phone go off, but when I checked, I realized it was yours because I couldn't get in it. What really caught my attention was the fact that the name Harry popped up. So, that brings me back to my original question, Paige. What the hell is this?"

"It's nothing," I mumbled. After I typed my code in, I went straight to his contact and changed the name Harry to Dawson. Pushing some of my tangled hair out of my face, I gave a small shrug and turned around. "It's just some guy I met a few days ago. Why are you so concerned?"

"Some guy, really? See, I'm starting to put two and two together." She crossed her arms, laughing. "We went to One Direction's concert last night and then we got separated." I turned around and she pointed to my phone. "I think you got Harry's number."

"Oh please," I laughed, doing my best to sound convincing. "You're being insane, Lauren. Why the hell would I have Harry's number? That is literally impossible."
"Don't lie, Paige. If you got his number, please tell me!"

I rolled my eyes and gave a small nod, letting her know it was his. "Yes, alright, it's his number. It's nothing though, I swear. He just texted me to let me know you were out front. You know, because you left me. Thanks for that." Going back over to my bed, I sat down and rested my head in my hands.

"Oh my god, are you hanging out with him?" She squealed, sitting down beside me as she shook me.

"You know, I'm not really up for answering so many questions right now. Besides, how did you even get in here?" I threw my hands up in confusion, hoping she'd drop the topic of Harry.

"Your mom let me in." I saw her glance down at the watch on her wrist and I silently prayed she had to be somewhere soon. She frowned and looked over at me. "I have to go, but please text me later."

"Yeah, sure, whatever," I mumbled. Walking over to my door, I opened it and smiled. "Talk later."

Watching her walk down the hall, I closed my door and pressed my back up against it as I slowly let myself fall to the floor. I closed my eyes and waited a few minutes before I finally pulled my phone out, opening Harry's text. My eyes widen as I read it, completely forgetting the time he'd told me to be ready by.

Harry: Your ride will be there in thirty.

Throwing my phone on the bed as I pulled myself up, I ran to the bathroom and took a quick shower. The quickest shower I've ever taken, let me add. Once I got out and dried off, I wrapped the towel around me and walked to my closet, pulling out a pair of jeans and a loose shirt that read 'live what you love' on the front. I dried my hair and then finally put my clothes on, brushing my teeth and straightening my hair. Looking at myself in the mirror, I couldn't help but frown as I took my image in. As long as we didn't go out in public, I think I could manage with how I looked for a day. Grabbing my wallet off of my desk, I made my way into the kitchen and cleared my throat to my mom's attention. "Mom, can I go out with a friend?"

"Honey, you're eighteen and you have a car. You don't have to ask me to go places anymore," she let out through a small laugh before looking at me over her shoulder. "Just text me whenever you get where you're going so I know you made it alright."

"Okay, I will." Nodding as I leaned against the counter a little bit, I watched as she fixed her and my father some breakfast. She always fixed extra for me and my sister, just in case we decided to wake up and eat breakfast. Most of the time I skipped it because I usually never woke up before eleven in the afternoon.

"Can you get that for me?" My mom glanced back at me, causing me to raise my eyebrows in confusion. "The door, hun, someone is at the door."

I pulled myself off the stool and walked into the living room, opening the door up to see a man dressed in a suit. Tilting my head to the side as I saw him remove his black sunglasses, I gave a welcoming smile. "May I help you?" I had never seen this guy in my life and I started to regret not checking through the window to see who it was before opening the door.

"Are you Ms. Paige Brown?" He glanced down at a slip of paper in his hands before returning his attention to me. "I'm here to pick you up for your evening with Mr. Styles."

"Oh," I replied in just above a whisper. Peaking over his shoulder as I saw the black van with tinted windows, I was more than thrilled that a limo hadn't shown up in my yard. Fancy wasn't my thing, nor did it match my living style or anything else related to me.

He held out his arm after he slipped his sunglasses back on. "May I?"

My eyes studied his arm for a moment before I took it, glancing back at my mom. "I'm leaving!"
He walked me to the van and opened the door, something I wasn't exactly expecting. "Thank you." I stepped up and slid in on the seat, crossing my legs at the ankles as my hands rested in my lap. Looking out the window as he pulled out of my driveway, I chewed on my bottom lip as I tried to get through the fact that I was on my way to meet Harry. A few minutes pasted before I finally got the nerve to speak up. "Could you possibly tell me where I will be meeting Harry at?"

Glancing at me through the rear view mirror, he shook his head. "I'm sorry, ma'am, but he asked me not to give you any information on where you two would be meeting or what you would be doing."

"Right," I mumbled to myself. Of course he did. Playing with my fingers as I continued to watch out the window, it was long before we finally came to a stop. It didn't take as long as I had thought it would, but then again the driver was very well going over the speed limit. I watched as he got out of the car and opened my door, waiting for me to climb out. "Thank you, again." I offered him a small smile before my eyes landed on the hotel in front of us. "A hotel?"

"Yes, ma'am. Harry gave me clear instructions to bring you to the hotel he was staying at." Nodding as he closed the door behind me, he leaned down to meet my ear and chuckled. "I promise you shouldn't be afraid."

Glancing over at him, I smiled and let out a small laugh. "Well thank you for reassuring me, because I was starting to get a little jumpy about it."

"Don't be," he reassured me as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a card. "Here's the key to his room. He's on the top floor, Room 918. It should be at the very end."

I quickly glanced up at the hotel and frowned. "He's on the ninth floor?" Taking the card from his hand, I rolled my eyes and sighed. "I hate heights."

Hearing the man chuckle as I watched him get back into his van and drive off, I glanced back up towards the top of the hotel and convinced myself that it would be. Besides, what were the chances of this hotel collapsing while I was in it? I ran my hand through my hair and made my way into the hotel, pressing the button that had 9 on it once I got to the elevator. The numbers slowly increased as I leaned against the back wall of the elevator, trying to decide if I should turn around or not. Jumping a little at the sound of the ding, I waited for the doors to slide open and then I walked out, making my way down to the end of the hallway. Standing in front of the door that read 918, I took a few small breaths and then slid the card in the door, only to be greeted by Harry.

"You made it," he chuckled. He opened the door and stepped off to the side so I could come in.

"Sadly," I joked. Glancing around the room as I noticed the clothes that were scattered all over the room, I finally turned my attention back to him as a smile crept on my lips. "You're messy."

"Thank you for that amazing compliment, I really appreciate your courtesy." He shot me a smirk before closing the door, walking over the bed and sitting down.

Pushing my hair back as I remained in my spot, I shook my head and laughed. "Anytime."

"You know you can come over and sit down. You don't have to stand up the entire time, I won't bite." Winking, he pulled out the room service folder and began looking through it. "At least not yet."

I let out a tiny laugh and brought one hand up to my mouth, biting on my thumb nail as I glanced over at him. Normally I wouldn't find hair like his attractive on a guy, but my god could he pull it off. My eyes quickly averted to somewhere else as he looked over at me. "So, why exactly did I come here?" I glanced back over at him, only to find him still looking.

He chuckled and stood up, walking over to me. "So you could get to know me. You're a fan, right? I figured I would let you in on a few things." Putting the folder in my hands, he slipped one hand on my back and lead me over to the bed before pushing down on my shoulders. "Please, sit. You're making me nervous just standing around like that."

"Sorry." Looking down at the folder, I glanced through it and the price was the first thing my eyes landed on. I licked my lips and set the folder down, crossing my legs as I looked at him once he sat down beside me. "I'm not really that hungry."

"Stop." He shook his head as he walked over to the phone, pressing it up to his ear. "It's on me." Pressing the button for room service, he grinned at me and began to order. "Yes, this is Harry, Room 918. My friend and I would like a salad, if you don't mind." He hung up and then walked back over to where I was, sitting back down beside me. "Do you mind if I ask you something?"

"You're Harry Styles, I figured you wouldn't have to ask," I joked around, a smile forming on my lips. Seeing his smile fade a little bit, I shook my head. "Sure, anything."

"Why did you come here?" His eyes trailed away from mine, focusing on his own hands. "Because to be honest, I didn't expect you to come. If I would have thought you would take up my offer, I would have cleaned up a bit."

I couldn't find the words to say as I heard him ask that question. Surely he expected me to come. If any other girl in this world was given the option of coming to see him, they would accept it in a heartbeat and he had to know that. "Why wouldn't you expect me to come?"

"Because," he gave a small shrug before looking back over at me, "you aren't like the others I meet. You didn't scream in my face or jump on me, you didn't ask for my number or a follow, you didn't even ask for a picture, Paige." Licking his lips as that crooked grin formed on his lips again, his dimples would've knocked me off my feet had I been standing. "You got sarcastic with me and I had to work for your number, which by the way, I'm not deleting. I invited you here because you were different, and I liked that." Scratching the back of his head as there was a knock at the door, he stood up and made his way over to it. "I figured I would give it a shot and if you came, I hoped we could make a friendship out of this." He opened the door and handed the man money before taking the two salad bowls, coming back over and sitting them down at the small desk. "But still, you haven't answered my question. I told you why I invited you, now tell me why you accepted."

I stood up and walked over, sitting down in a chair across from him. "I really don't know if I should take that as a compliment or not, but I'm going to, so thank you." Pushing my hair over my shoulders as I glanced down at my salad, a little intimidated by why he asked me to come. I really hadn't expected that. I figured he was asking because he felt like he owed it to me somehow, that because I was a fan he should invite me. "To be honest, I really don't know why I came." Picking up the fork, I played around with the salad a bit before looking up at him. "I know that's not a good explanation, but it's true. I had told myself that I wasn't coming, but I changed my mind and I really don't know why I did. Any girl in that concert wouldn't have thought twice about coming, but I kept debating it. I guess I gave in. I wanted to see what you were like behind the scenes."

"So in other words, you came because you wanted to see what the media never portrays?" Resting his elbow on the table, he gave a small grin before taking his fork and slipped some salad into his mouth. "I thought you might have came because of the fact that I was in a famous boy band."

"Well of course, duh." Rolling my eyes as I let out a laugh, I couldn't help but grin at the fact that he wasn't making things awkward. So far this had turned out to be nothing like I expected. "I mean, I do like you because you're in One Direction .. but that's not why I came."

"And why is that," he cocked his head to the side,"if you don't mind me asking?"

"Because, I'm a Louis girl." For the first time in my life, I winked at a boy. Winking was never my thing and I quickly covered my face, feeling myself flush. "I didn't mean to wink. I don't know why I did that."

I heard the deep laugh escape from his lips as he leaned back a little, shaking his head. "No, I liked it. Too bad you're a Louis girl. I don't know, though. I bet I can change your mind." He shot a wink in return.

"Oh, is that so?" I took a bite of my salad and then washed it down with some water, smiling. "I don't think it'll be as easy as you think, Harry. I don't change my mind very often."

"Believe me, you will." Shaking his head, he grinned and raised one of his eyebrows. He glanced over at the clock and then let his eyes rest back on me, his grin growing. "Give me one week."

Laughing, I shook my head. "One week, that's all you need?"

"Yes," he smirked. "In one week you'll be a Harry girl. That's a promise."

"Oh, really?" Tilting my head to the side as I sat my fork down, it was in that moment that I knew we'd be hanging out more than just this one day alone. To be honest, I was starting to feel okay with that.

"In one week, Ms. Paige Brown, you will be the fandom's biggest Harry girl." Clearing his throat as he leaned forward a little bit, taking another bite of his salad, he nodded.

Running my finger along the plate as I laughed, I sighed and rolled my eyes playfully. "And what if that doesn't happen, Mr. Styles?"

"Believe me, it will." He grinned and gave a small shrug. "Winning you over is the only thing on my mind right now, and believe me, I get what I want."

My smile faded at his words, not because I was scared or frustrated, but because I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Winning you over is the only thing on my mind right now, and believe me, I get what I want. After a few minutes of trying to grasp his words, I let a smile linger on my lips once more as I picked my fork back up and began eating again. Paige, what the hell have you walked into? I felt my heart pick up as I looked back over at him, his grin causing my heart to flutter. Was I really becoming intrigued with this boy? Not just some boy, either. It was Harry Styles. I tried to calm myself down but as I continued to watch him, I couldn't help but wonder what was going to come out of this. Was he really going to win me over? Could I really become a Harry girl? More importantly, was I going to fall for him? Damn it, Paige, leave it up to you to get into a mess like this.

@CallMeBri
Yeah, it's hard to come up with a new plot when it comes to One Direction, ha. Thank you so much for your input though, I appreciate it!
