Dark hour
Chapter 4
“We told you to never come back!” I tilted my head and tried to clear my vision. Whoever spoke last and the one before that was someone I did not recognize.
Everything after that was a blur. I honestly could not remember a thing. I wasn’t really a weakling but I was caught off-guard. Someone picked me up and led me to the living room. People were talking but I’m still shook up about what happened so I just kept nodding.
Blair pulled me up the stairs; I’m guessing it was her anyways. I stopped at the top of the stairs to regain my senses and was immediately met by Blair who was already changed for some reason.
“So did Harry say anything about knowing Niall?” I finally got my clear sense of hearing. I was a bit confused of her question so my first instinct was to look down. I was surprised that Harry and the boy that Blair was dancing at the party a while was here in Blair’s living room.
“Niall?” I asked silently. I looked at Blair and she was still waiting for my response. “No. I asked him about the blonde boy and he denied it.” Blair made her way down the stairs and I followed. She quickly sat on the blonde boy’s lap while I sat beside Harry’s.
“So what was that about?” Blair asked casually. I was still overly confused about what all happened. Lacie was still out of it and Blair wasn’t really acting different; she was acting as if nothing happened, as if she has known the blonde boy for ages.
“We’re in a gang.” Niall, I’m guessing that’s his name, and Harry said at the same time. I looked around wide-eyed while Blair just accepted that fact as if that was something normal.
“What happened?” Lacie finally woke up and stretched. We all looked at her as she stood up. “Well, you wouldn’t even guess.” I said sarcastically. Tonight wasn’t really the night I imagined it to be.
Harry?! How is he in a gang? He couldn’t even hurt a fly, or maybe so I thought. “What?” Lacie has still not caught up with the program. She was still confused and upset.
“Can we tell her?” Blair and I both asked the boys beside us. “Just her. No one else.” We both nodded and faced Lacie right away. “Well, these both are in a gang and we almost got killed!” Blair announce quickly.
The night went on with us, or at least me, still confused with the entirety of what happened. Blair kept flirting with Niall while Lacie fell right back asleep.
I felt Harry stare at me as he was just sitting beside me. There were no words exchanged; I felt betrayed and I wasn’t really in the best mood to talk so I just shut my eyes and resorted to dream land.
“Hey harry can I talk to you in the kitchen?” I was awoken by Blair’s loud voice and the aftermath of last night immediately hit me like a brick. “Good morning, love.” I glared at the blonde stranger in front of me. I might know his name but I still don’t know who he was.
“Okay guys me and Harry are, uhmm, going somewhere. Be good, Niall don't eat all my food.” Harry and Blair briskly walked together to the front door and before I can even protest they were already in her car.
“Want some food?” I haven’t said a word at all to this Niall kid yet he acts like he belongs in this house. “Where’s Lacie?” I glanced at the sofa where she laid last night and panicked when I saw the spot empty.
“Oh, she woke up about two hours ago, checked her phone and left in a hurry.” I took a glance at my phone and stood up right away. “I gotta go.” Too much happened last night and I can’t be left alone with this stranger right here.
“Wait, Blair won’t be too happy that I allowed you to leave without breakfast.” He ran to the door and shut it and I felt my heart pumping very, and I mean really fast. Am I going to die today?
He took my wrist and dragged me to the kitchen and I karate chopped his arm in response. “Hey! What was that for?!” He caressed his arms and pouted. He doesn’t look like he could hurt someone either. I did thought about the same thing about Harry and here we are.
“What are you to B?” I asked sternly and crossed my arms. He held up a knife and I quickly backed off into a counter. “You’re cute. I see why Harry likes you. Blair or B, I guess, I honestly don’t know what we are. We just met last night.” He shrugged and went back to slicing tomatoes.
“Exactly, so my question is why do you act like you guys have known each other for years?” I watched him make us sandwiches. I made sure there wasn’t anything suspicious that he was putting in there.
“She’s cool. I opened up to her fast and she did the same to me. She isn’t really like you. You’ve been awfully quiet. She’s also a badass last night. You should have seen her punch a guy.” I raised my eyebrow. I mean I guess that isn’t far off from the Blair I know and add to that the alcohol she has consumed last night.
“So, do you like her?” I asked straight away. He nodded in response. “How could a man like me say no to a girl like her?” I scoffed at that arrogance and thought how him and Blair are just exactly made for each other. “How about you and Harry?”
