Okay,so there are two things I wanna say about this.

1.Don't use too much of it.Let the reader know how the character feels like.Actions say more than words do.Like for example:

"Y-you did what?" (Any name)said

"It's not what you think."(Any name)defended

You see?I mean you can't tell whether they are sad or happy.It's fine if you use dialogue a lot just make sure to include the paragraphs that include the feelings of the character,what's happening and etc.

2.Let the reader know who's talking!I'm sure you or someone else have stumbled upon a story that goes like this:

"Spill the details girl!"

"I'm getting married!"

I mean at least put who's saying it once in awhile.In my example maybe the main character is getting married or maybe the side character is.Who knows?

When you are doing this make sure to put who's saying what at least every 2-3 times or put the name of the person,something like this:

"Do you wanna go out with me,(Any name)?"

"Of course!"I replied.

"Tomorrow at 7."He gave me a kiss on the cheek and drove off.

You see what I mean?
