Year Two
Crier
Rachel's P.O.V.
It was now two weeks after the midterm break and everything had changed. Skylar had gotaken an offer to go be part of an art program in New York. I was thrilled for her of course but she had left the day after we had gotten back and so I had barely gotten a chance to catch up with her at all. Plus she been so busy that she had barely been in contact with us at all since she left. Something none of us were taking well. Luke in particular.
It was the second Friday after the break and instead of going out, which was something most people were doing, Lizzie and I had headed over to the boys room. And so the six of us had ended up ordering pizza and watching movies. Surprisingly enough we had managed to get the boys to watch pretty much everything we wanted to watch without complain. That is until we got to Titanic.
"Rachel, we're not watching this movie! Just no" Ashton was the first one to argue. We were sitting on the couch and I had my fluffy-sock covered feet resting in his lap.
"And why not?" I asked, taking another bite of the slice of pizza I was holding in my hand, the box for the Titanic was in the other.
"Becaus you'll just end up crying at the end and you'll get yourself all worked up over the stupid thing" he replied simply.
I rolled my eyes.
"I'm not gonna cry!" I insisted indignantly.
Michael chuckled from where he was sitting right in front of us, an arm slung casually around Lizzie.
"Let's face it Rach, your a crier" he agreed with a shrug.
"I am not!" I argued back.
Though honestly we all knew it was true. I was a crier. I could handle horror movies and action-packed movies but when it came to anything remotely sad,I couldn't take it.
Ashton and I continued to argue playfully about it until I felt my phone vibrating in my pocket. I pulled it out quickly and realized the caller was Louis.
"Louis, hi" I answered.
I noticed Ashton swallow, looking away to meet Calum's eye.
Things between me and Louis had been pretty good. The awkward post-breakup phase had finally come to an end and we were back to being friends. Good friends. .
"Hey Rach. I think you should come to our room. Harry's being weirdly dramatic. I mean he's always dramatic but since Skylar's left he's been acting really strange, you know?"
Oh I knew. Harry hadn't quite dealt with getting his heart broken as of yet and it seemed he was only getting worse. He really needed to meet someone new. It was obvious that Skylar liked Luke. Though honestly lately she hasn't been bothering much with either of them.
"Okay I'll be there soon. Thanks for calling me" I replied to Louis after a sigh.
"No problem, see ya" he said and with that the line went dead.
I pit the phone back in my pocket, looking around at the expectant faces.
"I have to go. Harry's acting weird so I'm gonna go make sure he's okay" I explained.
They all nodded but Ashton looked down, a flicker of disappointment across his face.
"Hey I'll give you a call later, yeah?" I promised, nudging him as I stuffed my feet into my ugg boots.
He nodded.
I held out my fist then for him to fist bump me. He burst out laughing at that, quickly tapping my nuckles with his.
"You're so weird" he laughed as I stood up to leave. I didn't even bother arguing and merely shrugged as I walked towards the door to go and help out my love sick brother.
