The Summer I Turned Popular
Elaina (Lanie) Parks is used to being invisible. The first 17 years of her life she spent mostly in the company of her family. When her parents decide to ship her to her aunts for the summer, Lanie is slipped into the world of country clubs, golf and long beach days. She has to deal with her eccentric aunt her annoying cousins and the neighbor boy that refuses to leave her alone.

Lanie is a free spirit. She makes friends pretty easily and is fairly outgoing. Despite making friends easily Lanie doesn't often make close friends she prefers to keep people at an arms distance. Lanie has a lot of determination and passion whether in her tennis, school work or art. Lanie can often be found by herself sketching or drawing and basking in the silence. Lanie is not much of a partier and prefers to stay home and have something like a movie night instead. Lanie is a hopeless romantic and often daydreams about finding prince charming.

History:
Lanie grew up in a small town in a middle class family with her parents and her twin brother. Lanie was always rather introverted during school prefering to color then play during recess. Middle school was rough on her because she was teased for being quiet. That's when Lanie discovered tennis. She threw herself into the game letting all her emotions out on the court. Her parents fed up with her not being social have sent her to her aunts for the summer.

All she wants to do is travel the world doing what she loves. she loves her parents but she believes they are too involved with her life.They are always telling her who she can and can't hang out with,so she doesn't have any real friends,just people her parents make her hang out with.They are always trying to set her up in dates She hates how snotty and stuck up everyone she knows is.
