Is That?
Lizzy's POV
"Where in the world is Monique?She can't be late or we'll miss our flight!"I tell my mom.
"Relax sweetie,it will all be fine"My mother tells me. I sigh a I sit on the couch.
Kirsten was already at my house.We have just graduated high school.I already had a college interview in Las Vegas,New Mexico.My parents had wanted me to go there before I was even born and now,I have an interview at one of their best schools.
All of our parents chipped in to send us so we can explore the city and the schools. To say I was excited was an understatement. I have never gone more than two days without being under my parents watch. I always did everything they told me,they did have good intentions and knew what was best for me after all. Now I was going to a new state with my two best friends by my side.
"I'm here!"Monique shouted as she opened the door.
"Finally"Kirsten said getting up from the couch.
"We have to leave right now so we're not late." I said jumping up. I hugged my mother and father,which ended up being a twenty minute goodbye session,grabbed my carry on, and got in the car.Monique was speeding down the highway because we were running late.
We got to the airport and Literally ran.
"Wait!"I yelled to the lady that was about to close the door .She smiled as we handed her our tickets.
"Don't gamble to much."She said as she closed the door behind us.I wonder what she meant by that?
The three of us find our seats and sit down,thankful that we made it in time.We didn't pay attention to the captain's message or the stewardess's safety lecture,we were to busy in our own little world,thinking about New Mexico. About halfway through the flight, Kirsten and Monique are asleep,so I decide to get my Ipod from my carry-on. I am siting in the middle,so i have to step over Kirsten,I accidentally trip over her and almost fall into the isle.I put my hands up for the hard impact but it doesn't come. Instead I feel something soft.I open my eyes and see a guy with sunglasses and a black hoodie.
"Watch where you're going."He mumbles before pushing me off of him and walking up to the first class area. I wanted to tell him something but my mom's voice popped into my head saying " Elizabeth Jefferson,do not start a scene young lady!" I sighed and grabbed my I pod from the overhead area and sat back down.
About an hour later the captain's voice came on the speaker."Well everyone we will be landing soon.I hope you had a great flight with us,Welcome to the fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada!"
"What?"I yelled as I basically Jumped on Monique's lap to open the window.And sure enough I saw all those famous casinos getting closer and closer.
"Nonnonononono this can't be happening!"I say.
"What is it?And can you get off of me?"Monique says waking up.
"What's going on?"Kirsten says stretching,waking up as well.
"We came to the wrong Las Vegas!How is that even possible?"I say. They both look out the window and excitement fills them.
"Oh my god this is awesome!"Kirsten squeals.
"What?Are you crazy!I have an interview In an hour in New Mexico!My parents are going to kill me for blowing it"I say
"Well,first of all this isn't your fault.Second of all,We are in Las freaking Vegas for God's sake! Your parents always told you what to do and how to do it.They aren't here to control you. Have fun,Live a little." Monique says.
I sigh as i slump down in my seat.I couldn't do anything about it,But that doesn't mean i was going to 'Live a little' That is not how I was raised .I was raised to listen and follow the rules,to be a 'good girl'. Not to go out in Vegas and Live a little.I could already hear what my parents would say.
We land and take our bags. I am not really paying attention as we exit, and when i do i notice Monique and Kirsten aren't with me. I turn around only to collide with someone else. I look up and see the same guy,only without sunglasses...wait..is that?
