I sat impatiently alongside Cora Jude in the waiting room. Cora Jude played with her teddy bear I gave her and I kept my eyes set on the door way.

Finally a women walked in through the door with a file in her hand. She wore a collared women's suit and her hair was extremely curly, but not frizzy.

She introduced her self as Miranda Kyle who was the chief of child investigations. She had us bring Cora Jude into the children's play room. An officer was in the room with her playing dolls and putting her on the mini playground. Miranda brought me into a room with a table and a desk. It wasn't like an investigation room, it was more welcoming.

"So, I found the file on Cora Jude…no trace of her mother. But if history repeats itself, she won't be back anytime soon." She began the conversation

"What do you mean if history repeats itself?"

"Cora Jude's mother, Sarah Aberelo, she is what we call a flighty mother. She does every drug in the book, drinks till she blacks out, sleeps with anyone who can supply her with it. Runs off.."

"Wow…I don't mean to be rude..but how is Cora Jude still living with her?"

"Good question. Cora Jude's father was killed in the army about a year ago, her grand parents aren't eligible, and we have been trying to hunt down anymore family."

"You didn't even put her in a home though..I know they are bad but still?" I was curious how she was able to stay with her mother.

"Cora Jude's mother never put a hand on her violently, that we know of..her court case didn't hold up"

"I see…"

We got up and stood in front of the glass window, watching the little girl play.

There was a bit of a pause before Miranda finally spoke.

"Well, thank you for bringing her here..I'll put her in a group home until we find her family..thank you again"

I was taken aback. Just like that she would be put in the foster care system..what the hell.

"Thats it..your putting her in a home?"

"It's all we can do. Until we find her relatives, she has no where to go"

"How long? How long till you find her relative?"

"Considering we had to close the case after the court so we have major progress already..I'd say a month at most"

"What if I took her until then?"

She was taken aback from my gesture "You don't need to do that Miss. Quinn"

"I know" I looked at her play "It's better then a group home. Plus I know her now and its only a month right?"

"It's not a definite month, anything could happen..I want you to know that" She said eying me.

I nodded. "Keep me updated on the progress…I'll take good care of her."

"Okay. I'll have someone drop by with her things from there house"

"Okay..thank you Miranda"

She nodded in response.

I walked with Cora Jude hand in hand down to my flat. I told her what was happening in the most simplest way possible.

I opened the door and stepped in with Cora Jude. Josh and Luke we're playing video games and Annabelle was flipping through a magazine.

Annabelle lifted her head and her eyes widened. "Oh hey you" She smiled at Cora Jude.

Cora Jude smiled wide and ran into the living room to jump on the couch. Making the boys completely stop their game and look at me..I shrugged my shoulders.

I nodded my head towards the kitchen and Annabelle walked in next to me.

"Uhmm..explain please." She said

"Its not permanent okay..just until they find her aunt. They were going to put her in a group home and I just had to"

"Wow….how long?"

"No more then a month.."

"Ailia how the hell are you going to take care of a three year old during work and school and your boy problems?!"

"With the help of my best friend and my roommate hopefully" I smiled wide

She rolled her eyes. "Well we can't just throw her out on the streets right."

I hugged her "Thank you"

I let Josh in on what was happening and he didn't seem to care much…annoying me even more. I was getting fed up with him and I don't know how much longer I would be able to take it.

Reaching my breaking point I dialed Niall's number.

"Ailia?" Niall said in a raspy voice

"Niall? Oh shit the time difference..I'm sorry"

"Oh no its okay…whats up love?"

"A lot…I found this little girl, Cora Jude, and I brought her to the police because her mother abandoned her at the park and they were going to put her in a group home until they find her aunt and I just had to Niall…I took her home with me and she's going to be living with me until they find her parents….did I just make a big mistake"

It took him a little bit to resound "Ailia I don't think its mistake. Your just showing some compassion for the sweetheart. I know you can do this alright. And Anna and Camila with help you, even Josh"

I rolled my eyes at the sound of his name "Yeah not to sure about that. He doesn't seem to care about anything anymore."

"Talk to him…I want you to be happy okay babe."

All he wanted was for me to be happy even at the expense of his own feelings. This boy was completely perfect. I come to him when I need to talk about something..not Josh. That shows me everything.

I'm so in love with this boy but yet I blew it and decided that I was going to let some drunken incident come between us. So stupid.

"I miss you" I said weakly into the phone.

"I miss you too…babe please don't cry." Her said but it only made me cry

Tears dripped down my face "No Niall…I really miss you. I want you here with me right now. I want to feel your arms wrapped around me…I miss you"

"Thats all I want to Ailia, I want to be there with you. I miss you too, I miss you too."

There was a bit of a needed pause "I love you" I whispered into the phone.

"I love you too" He replied into the speaker of the phone. I hung up the phone and wiped my tears.

I stood up and saw a figure standing behind me. I stopped in my tracks seeing who it was. Oh..my..god. This is not happening right now.
