Stay Away
I dropped my bag as I walked through the door. Niall was really strange, and didn't say much on the way home. He didn't ask my name or anything personal, which is kinda wierd if you ask me.
"Em, you home?" I hear Jeremy yell from the kitchen.
"Yea sorry it took so long," I yelled back.
"It's cool. As long as you got food," he replied.
I walked into the kitchen and tossed the bag of take-outs on the table.
"Emma, you look terrible. Are you okay?" He asked me. I hadn't realized it but I had been staring off into space.
"Yea I'm fine. Just tired I guess, I'm going to sleep. Okay?" It really wasn't a question but he knew what I was saying. "And actually go to sleep tonight okay? We have school tomorrow," I called over my shoulder.
"I make no promises!" He called back.
I tried to go to sleep but I kept looking back at the way Niall talked to me. Like if I said to much, then it would be just the beginning.
*flashback*
"Thanks again for what you did back there," I said for what felt like the 50th time since we started walking.
"Really it's no problem," he said a bit hastily.
"Well my name is…" I was suddenly cut off.
"No, don't tell me anything about you I don't want to know," he said as if I had pulled a gun on him.
"Well you saved my life, the least I can do is tell you my name," I stated matter-of-factly.
"No," he stated. It was as if by telling him my name, I was starting something.
"Okay, well this is me so…" I trailed off as I pointed at my flat.
"Alright, now look, you can't tell anyone what happened tonight, okay? If anyone asks you if you know me, tell them no. If you ever see me in public, don't talk to me, don't even ecnolage that I exist. Just stay away from me okay?" He said in a rush.
"W-why?" That was all that could come out of my mouth. I mean, what kind of person saves your live, and then tells you to act like it never happened.
"Because I'm bad news, and I don't want anyone getting hurt because of me. Just promise me that you'll stay out of trouble,"
It wasn't a question. I nodded my head, and with that, he jogged off.
*end of flashback*
My brain was on overdrive, I needed sleep. I laid my head on my pillow, wrapped myself in my duvet, and welcomed the dark.
"Em, you home?" I hear Jeremy yell from the kitchen.
