If You're Lucky.
He's the sweetest.
"You ready?" Dr. White, who was now perched on a stool; eye level with my leg, questioned.
"No." I squeaked. Beside the fact of not likening needles or hospitals. I had probably the lowest pain tolerance known to man. I nearly cried when I had my ears pierced.
"She's ready." Harry answered. I loomed up at him, fright taking over my features. His hand once again intertwining with mine. Without warning the needle was pressed into my skin causing an immediate pain stricken breath to be sucked through my lips. Let me tell you, this fucking hurt. I could feel the tears pooling in my eyes as he continued on. Soon enough they spilled over, streaming down my cheeks. This was painful and embarrassing. Way to completely fuck up a first date.
"You're doing great Mase." Harry encouraged as he placed the hand the wasn't being crippled by mine on the far part on my neck as he stepped closer. Almost instantly I buried my face into his chest, inhaling the delicious scent of his cologne. Now matter how hard I tried, I couldn't stop myself from crying. Tears just kept falling over and over. A light kiss was pressed to my head. Making me feel oddly as ease. I felt comforted as Harry kept his lips pressed to the top of my head, holding me as tightly as he could. Although he couldn't make the pain go away, he did an amazing job from distracting me from it.
"Alright, you're all done."
Harry's hand slipped from my neck to the small of my back as the Dr. went over what medicine he would be proscribing me and how important it was to keep the cut clean. I listened as I could, but it was sort of hard having Harry so close, his hand resting on my back the other still meshed with mine while his warm minty breath washed over my face. It was very distracting.
"It you have any questions don't be afraid to call."
"I won't."
"Okay. You two have a nice day."
"You too." Harry and I both said in unison.
"See it wasn't that bad." Harry teased.
"Oh yeah. Except for the part where the needle was piercing through my skin over and over. Or the fact that I cried like an absolute baby, embarrassing myself and getting your shirt all wet." I said pinching where my tears had soaked.
"I don't mind. And you didn't cry like a baby. I say for being afraid of needles, you did pretty well."
"Well thank you." I smiled before attempting to step down. Ultimately failing. Luckily enough harry caught me just before I could hurt myself any further.
"Do you I need to carry you to insure you don't hurt yourself?" He joked wrapping an arm around my waist for support.
"I think that could possibly draw a smidgen of attention."
"Naahh. You think?"
"I sure do."
We were stopped at a red light when something suddenly occurred to me. Harry had said he was my boyfriend, but why? He could've said he was a cousin, a brother or even a friend. Well I guess the doctor may have questioned how actions if he had said he was my brother or cousin but still. He didn't have to say boyfriend.
"Harry."
"Hmm?"
"Why did you tell the doctor you were my boyfriend?"
"What?"
"Back when the Dr. asked If you were my boyfriend you said yes. I was just wondering why you didn't just say you were a friend or something."
"Oh. I don't know. I just...figured it was easier than explain since he didn't seem to know who I was."
"Oh." I know I shouldn't be disappointed. I mean, it's not like Harry and I were even dating, let alone boyfriend and girlfriend. We had been on one date which had ended in me falling resulting in hospitals and needles. Two things I absolutely despised.
"Why?"
"Oh. I was just.. I was just wondering."
"Oh, okay."
The remainder of the ride was silent. I soon looked out the window seeing mine and Logan's apartment come into view. I un-clicked my seatbelt rather quickly placing my hand on the door before turning to face Harry.
"Thank you..for everything."
"No problem."
A small smile placed itself on my lips before I turned, opening the door. "Bye." I looked back but he wasn't there.
"Did you really think I wasn't going to walk you to the door? Especially after you just got stitches."
"I'll be fine. You really don't have to."
"Oh but I do. It's the gentlemanly thing to do."
"Oh so now you're a gentlemen?" I teased.
"I'd like to think so."
I grinned a bit while digging through my purse for my house keys. Which ended up taking longer than it should have. Although seeing as my purse was pretty large, stuffed with many unseeded things. It usually took me quite some time to find any one thing. Eventually I felt the cold metal rub against my skin.
"Well, uh. Thank you again."
"You so realize the last time we were in this same position you were thanking me profusely?" Harry inquired.
"Well maybe you should stop being so heroic."
"Oh so you think I'm a hero, huh?"
"No. I didn't."
"Oh no. It's fine. I can be your hero baby." He smiled widely.
"Really? Now you're quoting songs?"
"Hey! It's a good song."
"When did I say it wasn't?" I laughed while unlocking my door. Harry laughed along with me, making the smile on my face grow wider. "Well I'll see you later?"
"Defiantly." His arms wrapped around me pulling me into an abrupt yet completely wonderful hug. I returned it wrapping my arms around his neck. I was pretty happy when he had held on longer than I had thought.
"Bye Masyn."
"Goodbye Harry."
I slowly opened my door, discretely looking back to see Harry approaching the drivers side of his Range Rover. I whipped my head back around as soon as his began turning. I felt elated that he had actually looked back. I stepped through the threshold, watching him start his car, not leaving until I had shut the door completely. I felt it immensely sweet that he had waited to make sure I was completely safe inside.
I wandered through the hallways hearing nothing. Obviously Logan was still gone. Which was to be expected. It was a very rare occasion for him to be home. While me on the other hand, rarely left. Unless it was to go shopping or when I would actually agree to go out with my friends. It's not that I minded going out and doing things. I really actually love it. It's just, I don't know. I'm weird I guess.
I made my way into the kitchen, rounding around the island to the refrigerator. I poked around until decided on some Chinese food left over from a night or two ago. I was way too lazy to bother with preparing and cooking something. Besides it's not like anyone else would be around to eat it with. I took my favorite place on the sofa carefully propping my injured up onto the coffee table before digging in.
"Masyn."
"Mm." I grumped.
"Mase. Wake up."
"Ehhh. I don't want to."
"Come on!"
I scrunched my eyes tightly together. I didn't want to get up let alone open my eyes.
"Mase. Come on, get up."
I opened my eyes slowly, coming face to face with my adorable best friend.
"What?" I grumbled.
"You gotta get up and get in bed."
"Mmm."
"Get up baby cakes." He smiled lifting the plate from my lap, setting it on the coffee table. "What the happened to your leg?" He asked an octave too high for my sleepy state.
"Uh. Huh? Oh. I fell."
"You fell?"
"Yes."
"I told you, you need to be careful."
"Well if Harry and I hadn't been surrounded by paparazzi then I may
have seen the the uneven sidewalk and stopped myself from tripping."
"Wait! You wee surrounded by paparazzi?! Omg! How was it? Was it crazy?" He rushed out almost too quickly for me to comprehend.
"How was it? Really. How do you think it was? We were surrounded by hundreds of screaming teenage girls and paparazzi while a million flashes went off making it hard to see anything. Then I completely ate shit, and yet no one seemed to notice or care. I had to fight my way back to Harry already in pain. Then once we got back to his, he realized after cleaning it. The cut was deeper than we both thought resulting in me having to go to the hospital to get stitches, without any pain meds might I add." I huffed.
"You went back to his?" He squealed like a pubescent teenage girl.
"That's all you got from that entire thing?"
"I heard the rest I just can't believe he brought you back to his house and then cleaned you cut for you. I mean, how sweet is that? Not any guy would do that, ya know. Wait! How'd you get to the hospital?"
"Harry took me."
"And he took you to the hospital?! How more perfect could this boy get. Don't tell me he held your hand while the doctor stitched you up as well."
"He didn't?" I lied, the statement coming out more like a question.
"He held your hand?" He screeched jumping from his seat.
"Calm the fuck down. Jeez."
"I'm sorry. I just, ah. He so perfect."
"Yeah. Okay well, I've had a long day so imma go to bed." I muttered slowly standing to walk to my room.
"No! Wait! Masyn! We have so much more to talk about! Did you guys kiss? Or more? Come on! You need to give me details!"
"Good night Logan!"
"Wait!"
"Love you." I could still hear him shouting nonsense as I shut the door making sure to lock it. I was tired and not in the mood to answer the fifty thousands questions. It was a struggle to pull my shorts off without hitting my cut but I managed, sliding off everything replacing it with one of Logan's T-shirts that I had stolen. It was just so soft and comfortable. I couldn't help myself. My phone went off making me jump. Of course. Sliding It open, I couldn't stop the growing smile on my face.
'Hope you're feeling better. Sweet dreams.
-H. Xx
I placed my phone back in its place before carefully rolling to my side. I don't know how, or if it was even possible for it to happen so quickly. But I was ultimately falling for this boy, and I have to say. I'm absolutely terrified.
