If You're Lucky.
Seriously?
"Damn girl. You clean up nice." He chuckled, standing up.
"Thank you." I laughed as we walked to his car.
"So how many people are going to be here?" I asked as we pulled into a parking space outside of Lure.
"Oh just a few. Like Maybe ten or fifteen."
I nodded as we started our walk to the entrance. I didn't particularly like the various disturbing looks I was receiving from all the creeps passing by. And it's not like I could just pretend Logan was my boyfriend. You could tell he likes boys just by looking at him. He had a very nice fashion sense, but I really don't know any straight boy who would dress like him.
Besides the fact that I wasn't old enough to even be in the club, I was usually always allowed in. For reasons unknown to me, they rarely ever tried to card me. I followed as close behind Logan as possible as he made a beeline for the bar. Ordering me some fruity drink, that tasted absolutely amazing we found the rest of the people Logan had invited. I was wedged between Logan and Chase sitting quietly to myself as everyone continued on with their conversation. It wasn't a very interesting one anyway. At least from what I could hear.
"Hey, I'm going to go to the bathroom and get a new drink." I whispered into Logan's ear too which he nodded. I politely excused myself from the table not that anyone paid any attention anyway. I was doing my best to push through the sweaty bodies crowded against one another as I left the bathroom when a hard smack on my ass made me turn around instantly.
"Excuse me." I snapped to the large sweaty guy standing before me.
"Hey baby. You wanna dance?"
"Do I want to dance? With you? No fucking thank you." I snapped again before turning around only to be stopped by his tight grip on my upper arm. "Let go."
"Oh come on. I just wanna have a little fun."
"Fuck you and your fun. Let go of me." I yelled as unwanted tears started streaming down my face.
"Calm down. Come on dance with me." he hummed while sliding his hand up my waist grabbing onto my chest, Making the tears coming faster.
"Seriously, let the go!" I was now yelling as I struggled to remove my arm from his painfully tightening grip. But he wasn't letting up and I could tell he wasn't going to anytime soon. I brought my knee up, shoving it as hard as I possibly could manage against his groin. He doubled over finally releasing my arm which now how an enormous red hand mark, that was already forming into a bruise. I turned around as quickly as possible only to smack right into something hard. Well more or less someone.
"I'm so sorry, I just.. . " I said struggling to get my words out in fear of the guy retaliating.
"Hey are you okay?" The beautiful voice that I had just heard not more than two weeks ago spoke. I looked up coming face to face with Harry. "Masyn. What happened?" I was about to say something when the large, disgusting guy had made his return.
"You think you can get away from me that easily." He yelled gruffly trying to grab ahold of my already bruised arm. I looked up at Harry in desperation, begging him to do something. Thankfully he wrapped his arm around my waist, swiftly pulling me behind him. "You need to leave."
"Ah. Na, dude. It's no big deal. Don't waist your time trying to protect some whore."
"Excuse me, but that "whore" you're talking about is my girlfriend and suggest you back the fuck off before I beat you to a bloody pulp" he demanded with such certainty.
Girlfriend. He called me his girlfriend. Even though I knew I wasn't his girlfriend, I still like the way it sounded leaving his lips. Especially when he was talking about me. Me, Masyn Carter, Harry Styles girlfriend. Yeah, in my fucking dreams. Well, I mean. . he did ask me to go on a date with him too which I turned him down but still.
"Well, hate to break it to you dude, but she's nothing but a slut. I bet she's sleeping with about five other guys." the guy mumbled before walking away. I knew this complete stranger knew absolutely nothing about me and every accusation he made was completely false, but it still hurt. I hadn't realized I was still crying until Harry turned around wiping a few tears off my cheeks with his thumbs before pulling me into a tight embrace. Regardless of my previous thoughts and reasoning about not knowing Harry and all. I needed him at the moment. I brought my arms up wrapping them around his slim torso holding on tightly, as I pressed my face against his chest. Inhaling the incredible smell that was Harry.
I don't know how long we stood there just hugging, but when he pulled away it felt like it was all too soon. "You okay?"
"Yeah." I nodded. "Thank you."
"No need to thank me." he smiled flashing those prodigious dimples of his. I smiled back, looking down once I realized I was staring at him. But really, how could you not?
"So what are you doing here?"
"Logan asked me to come with him."
"Ah, I see."
I nodded not knowing what else to say.
"So, you haven't changed your mind about going on a date with me?" he questioned sweetly giving me an absolutely adorable smile.
"Well I hadn't, but I think after that." I said gesturing to him basically saving me from getting raped. "I think, I can reconsider."
"Really?" he asked excitedly, causing me to laugh.
"Really." I smiled.
"So this time if I call you, you're going to answer?"
"Yes, I'll answer."
"Thank God. I thought I was going to have to hire a private investigator to find out where you lived."
"You're kidding."
"I'm not. I was going to have to go all Romeo and Juliet and come to your window at night."
"Because I'd totally open the door some complete stranger yelling at my window, at night.
"I think you may have."
"I don't know about that."
"I'm pretty sure you would've."
"You have tons of girls dying to date you. Why put so much trouble into one girl?"
"Yeah, but you're different."
"Is that a good or bad thing."
"It's an extremely wonderful thing."
"Good."
"Indeed it is.."
"Well, after that. I think I'm just going to head home. Thank you again though."
"Let me give you a ride home." he offered.
"Oh no, really it's okay. I can just get a cab or something. I actually don't live too far from here."
"You think I'm going to let you walk home, dressed like that." He said his eyes scanning over my body.
"What's wrong with what I'm wearing?" I asked getting instantly self conscious. I brought my hands up in an attempt to hide my body.
"No, no , no." He laughed grabbing my arms and pulling them down. You look amazing. Gorgeous actually."
I blushed at his very words. Harry just said I was gorgeous. Harry Styles whose complete being was sublime. He was, he just perfect. "Really you don't have to."
"I know I don't have to, I want to."
I nodded in agreement knowing that it was a better choice that a taxi or walking home. That creep could very well still be lurking around. "I just need to go tell Logan that I'm leaving."
Harry nodded. I started weaving my way through the crowd trying to remember where everyone was seeing. Finally I saw Logan's overly bright shirt.
"Logan." I said loud enough for him to be able to hear me over the music and conversations going on. Everyones heads shot up in my direction, their eyes widening.Yet not one of them said anything. What the hell was wrong with them? I only now realized that they weren't looking at me but at who was behind me. I glanced back seeing Harry standing mere inches away from me. I didn't realize he had followed me. I guess it only made sense seeing I don't know how I would've found him after anyway. I don't know why they were staring at him like little freaks, he's just a person. "Well, anyway. Um, I'm gonna go home."
Logan finally tore his eyes from Harry bringing them to my face. "Did you need me to give you a ride home, or you can take my car and someone else can bring me."
"No, that's okay. I'm going to take her." Harry spoke up from behind me. Everyone now directed their attention back on me and I have to say, I felt a bit uncomfortable. I pursed my lips looking around for a moment. "Okay. I'll see you later. Love you guys." And again, they all remained silent. What freaks. I looked back to Harry who was already looking at me. I swear, every time he looked at me I felt like a hundred beached whales were flopping around in my stomach. How could someone you barely knew gives you butterflies, or beached whales in my case. Haha. Beached whales. Can you imagine saying that to someone. You give me beached whales. You would no doubt get some weird looks.
Harry's arm wrapped protectively around my waist as we struggled to make our way to the exit. I have to say, I didn't mind having his arm around me. Not one bit. Before he opened the door he pulled me closer. "Put your face against my chest, okay?"
I didn't really understand why he'd want my face pressed to his chest while we walked outside but I obliged, pressing my face to his torso. The instant we were outside the was an enormous amount of commotion coming from all directions.
Poparrazzi. I get it now.
"Harry who's the girl?"
"Is she your new girlfriend?"
"What's her name?"
"How long have you two been dating?"
"Why won't you let us see her face, does she really look that bad?"
"Harry I thought you were dating Kendall?"
"Are you cheating on her with this new girl?"
I heard the clicking of a car door open. Harry helped me in, telling me to keep my head down. I was thankful that he was just as concerned as I was with keeping my identity a secret.
As soon as I could tell we had entered on to the highway, I lifted my head. "Is it like that every time you go anywhere?"
"Most of the time."
"That must be horrible."
"Yeah. You try to ignore it, but some of the ridiculous things they say still surprise me." He said glancing at me for a moment.
"Yeah. Thank you though, for helping me hide." Because that didn't sound stupid or anything. Way to already make yourself seem like a complete lunatic.
"No problem. So, do you want to tell me how to get to your house?"
"Uh yeah. Take a left on the next exit and keep going straight until you hit Clayton street."
He nodded, following my directions to a T. We pulled up in front of my house and in all honesty. I didn't want to get out. The ride went by quicker than I liked and I wanted nothing more than to just sit in here with him forever. I sound like a complete freak, I barely know this guy.
"Thank you for everything." I smiled turning to face him.
"No need to thank me. Thank you for finally agreeing to go on a date with me." he smiled in return. I of course blushed like an absolute nube. I unbuckled my seatbelt and was just about to say bye when my door opened, making me jump in the slightest.
I thanked him as I stepped out of the car doing my best not to flash my underwear. We walked to my front door, stopping just in front of it.
"Thank you for walking me to my door." I thanked him for about the hundredth time tonight, looking up into his shamrock colored eyes. He nodded, taking his bottom lip in between his teeth.
"Can I kiss you?" he asked so quietly I wasn't sure if I had heard him correctly.
