Dancing with a Star

As the show date started getting closer, Niall started getting stressed as the nerves started setting in.
“Alright, Niall, let’s take it from the top,” I said. He nodded and stood a little ways behind me, as he was supposed to do.
I pressed play and the music flowed out of the speakers.
“Hey! Ladies and gentlemen. We’ve got a special treat for you tonight. I’m gonna call my friend Niall up here to dance for you ladies. Niall, let’s go man!” I yelled. He walked up to me gracefully and then spun me around as Olly started.
We then did a little step-toe before he stuck me out and let me go. We did the dance routine and I started laughing afterwards.
“Niall! You did it!” I yelled. He smiled and hugged me, as we were both really sweaty. “Take 5. We’re gonna make sure that wasn’t just a fluke,” I said. He nodded.
“Alright,” he said. There was suddenly a knock on the door and Niall went across the room to get it.
“Um. Eveli, I think this is for you,” he said. I turned towards the door and my jaw dropped when I saw my parents, Wesley, and Angelina.
“Guys!” I yelled, running up to them. I picked Wes up and smiled at him, spinning him around.
“Has my boy been good?” I asked.
“Always is,” my mom said, smiling.
“Who you pawtner Mommy?” he asked. I smiled and looked back at Niall.
“You wanna meet him?” I asked. He nodded excitedly. “Come on in the ballroom, guys,” I said. As soon as they were all in, I turned to Niall for Wesley’s big reveal.
“Momma! That’s Neal Howan,” he yelled, making Niall look up. He then started squirming in my arms so I set him down. As soon as I did, he ran over to Niall at full speed.
“Woah. Slow down there little buddy. You must be Wesley,” Niall said. Wes nodded, smiling. “I’ve heard a lot about you,” he said. Wesley’s eyes brightened as he looked at me.
I smiled at him before I felt a hand grasp my elbow and yank me right outside the ballroom door.
“Your partners with Niall Horan and you casually forgot to mention it?” she hissed quietly.
“Oh yeah. I'm so not busy! I'm sorry that I am working all the time to make sure this is perfect,” I said.
“Do you think he remembers us?” she said.
“You? Maybe. Me? Probably not. I mean, you went into the meet and greet slammed,” I whispered harshly.
“Damn it! Back out!”
“No! He requested me!”
“It’s too late for you to back out anyways! UGH!” she sneered, looking at him before looking back at me. I turned her towards the window and pointed to Niall playing with Wes.
“He's a good person Ang,” I said.
“He's a celebrity. They always have two faces,” she said before walking back inside. I rolled my eyes and followed her.
“Wesley,” I called, looking through my bag. He ran over to me.
“Yes, Momma?” he asked. I grabbed my water from my duffle bag and took a swig of it.
“Buddy, Niall and I are about to do our routine again. I need you to sit still and be good for me, okay? If you’re good, we might go get ice cream afterwards,” I said. His smile brightened and he sat on the floor.
I looked at Niall.
“Breaks up. Come on,” I said. He smiled and jumped up.
“You know, I’m actually doing pretty good,” he said.
“Don’t get cocky. We’ve still got dress rehearsals tomorrow,” I said.
His eyes widened and he looked at my shoes to see I had changed them out this week to get used to dancing in the shoes I would be wearing. The heel wasn’t too high, as they could snap into two if they were.
He smiled and I went over to the radio.
“5, 6, 7, 8” I yelled before diving into the routine.
That was why I started dancing in the first place.
As the song ended, I saw Niall and I were pulled together, meaning we had done the entire routine. We were both heavily breathing.
“Now, go rest up. I better not see you in here practicing before tomorrow when we’re in front of everyone,” I said. He nodded and grabbed his bag, walking out of the ballroom. I smiled and ran to Wesley. “Did you like that Wes?” I asked. He smiled and nodded.
“You awe doing gweat Mommy,” he said. I smiled and kissed his forehead. I then changed the CD to an album I always had with me. Our dancing CD. I put it in the radio and grabbed his hands. “Dance with me, Wes,” I said. He jumped up and grabbed my hands.
We danced goofily with each other and I picked him up, spinning him around a few times.
He smiled and giggled.
I then ‘fell’ on the ground when he wasn’t in my arms. He ran over to me. “You okay, Momma?” he asked. I smiled and grabbed him, gently placing him on the floor.
I tickled his stomach until he was gasping for air, begging for me to stop.
As I stopped, I heard a throat clearing. I looked up to see Niall standing there with a smile on his face.
“I forgot my phone,” he said, motioning to the iPhone sitting there. I smiled and nodded.
“I’ll see you tomorrow Eveily! Bye Wesley!” he yelled over his shoulder.
“Wait! Niall!” I yelled. He stopped and turned to me with raised eyebrows. “Don’t forget to pick up your costume today,” I reminded him. He smiled and nodded, walking out the door.
I looked back at Wesley to see he was gone. I looked around and spotted him by my duffle bag.
“Whatcha doing buddy?” I asked.
“Momma, I wike Neal,” he said. I smiled.
“He is a good guy, isn’t he?” I asked before taking a sip of my water.
“Can he be my daddy?” he asked. My eyes widened and I spit out my water all over the wall.
Well, that escalated quickly.
